Woo, game blog. I guess that would make it a glog? I dunno, but if you can get through the whole thing you get an imaginary cookie and a brain full of my drivel.

I win, CoffeeYodaman. TWO posts.

Except one is boring personal stuff, so I guess we're even.

Hey, does anybody know if it's possible (and wise) to call a subroutine out of a function? Like so:

Function:

Subroutine:

'tis inside of DBPro.

It's possible, sure. I've got several functions that call other functions, and subroutines are hardly much different. It's kind of redundant, though, the way you have it. You're already checking for BoxCount=>MaxBox when you call the subroutine, and then it checks it again. You could use a more generic function, such as:

And then change your calling line to

You would need to change the lines for coins and power-ups as well. I'm not sure about that repeat-until loop though; shouldn't the text command be inside the loop, not before it?

As in:

@ Venge:

I meant to fix the redundancy before I posted that. The reason I had the checks in there twice was because I coded the subroutine first, forgot I had done that, then went on to program the functions. I'll tidy it up in a bit.

And yes, I also realized after posting that the text needed to be inside of the Repeat:Until loop (changed to a do..loop for speed).

Also, mind if I steal that function? I like it.

Trying to learn lines is a pain in the rear...why did I have to be president of the storytelling society and receive the biggest part by default? Still, for our Mummers play I get to be Saint George and kill various people...including zombies.

So far I can remember:

In comes Saint George
A Noble Champion Bold
With my bright sword and buckle by my side
I did'st win 3 crowns of gold

---

I won the emer-sher-mer, shamer-rock-a
I did'st slay 6 zombies and brought them to the slaughter
By means of this and that, I won the Queen of Egypt's Daughter
For fair body or to fly
Or to conquer or to die
Tip tap, art thou a prisoner?
Tap, tap are thou a rocky stone?
Think I come here to be cut down like a dog?

---
Show me the man that dare before me stand
I care neither for thee nor thy bright sword in hand
Pray what bold art thou?

---

Stir up the fire and start a light
See Saint George and the Zombie fight
The hour is gone
The clock has struck 1
Tip, tap, bodge.

Not a bad start I suppose...a third of the way there.

Woot, woot, woot! After being one of the few to be screwed over by Student Finance England this year, I have FINALLY received my student loan and I am a happy puppy. THIS has been a good week I think.

Also...is it me, or does my Cheese String now taste 25% more like cheese than the last time I ate a Cheese String over 6 months ago?

I actually break down in tears regularly at just how good Cambozola is. I've spent more money on it since I got to uni than any other foodstuff. No word of a lie.

They're not just a "guilty pleasure" - they're a sign of all that is wrong in the world today. In fact, they're the cause for many of the things wrong with the world today. It's people like you, who turn a blind eye, and think "oh it's just a little thing, it's not really hurting anybody", who are to blame for ALL THE WORLD'S PROBLEMS. Cheesestrings are a SERIOUS issue, and need to be dealt with immediately.
Cheesestrings are like the re-militarisation of Rhineland. And those twisty ones they do are like marching on Poland. And no-ones doing anything to stop them. Who knows where this will end?

Just watch Howl's Moving Castle, I enjoyed it. Good film, however, I think some of the ending needed work, "Hi I'm a prince from a neighbouring country!" Nah...

I think I've seen Howl's Moving Castle. Much though I enjoyed it, I simply had no idea what was going on for a lot of it. I'd like to watch it again definitely. But the plot line did seem a little odd at times. And I do recall the ending being a little rubbish, now you come to mention it.

Hmm...I'm fairly sure I understood it...it's just one of those things you've got to think of in perspective of folk tales and fantasy. I was going to guess that the witch was a dragon because of a Chinese folk tale told at the Storytelling gig I went to on Friday, essentially the legend was in this forest lived ghost dragons that if the touched your back they would age you. The twelve year old girl that entered the forest had exactly that happen to her. Folk tales like being awfully weird. But no, though it would have been an amusing coincidence if they exploited that folk tale.
