<--------------- See this? Watch that movie. Next to The Grand Budapest Hotel it's the best thing that has happened in 2014.

[EDIT] Is "I'd've" a word? Because "I would" concatenates to "I'd" and "would have" concatenates to "would've"

I don't think I'd or would've are words (they're abbreviations). So there's your answer

Nope, TC claimed already.

I love my pi, but haven't played with it in a long time, since I configured it to run as a server and can't afford the downtime.

I need to move stuff over to new hard drive and then reinstall Fedora since fglrx decided to get all up in my kernel ramdisk and I can't figure out how to make a new one without it in it.

I belong here apparently.

In other news, a customer brought me out because he wants to swap his Macbook's OS with his Win7 PC OS (as in put the Apple laptop's OS on his PC and his PC's OS on the MacBook, as in my entire monthly wtf in one go). I explained the myriad of reasons why I doubted it was feasible outside of major hacking and he kept arguing. Eventually I said it was against the Apple EULA (I have no clue, I vaguely recall Idicium mentioning that to me but the dude didn't even know what a EULA was so I told him, "It's the licence and of you break it, you may have legal action: against you and your company." Then he doesn't want to pay me my call-out fee and wastes another over half an hour arguing before agreeing to pay my callout but not the nearly two hours of mine he wasted. At times like that, you just cut your losses and move on. I've a blacklist of people I won't service, he's on it. My friends have access to my list.

Dunno why anyone would want to run Mac OS on a PC and Win7 on a MacBook. That's purpose-defeating and, even with serious hacks, the user experience will be crap IF it works at all (Mac OSes are made for specific configs, not a random tower some dude bought off gumtree).

Then I get called by a friend to meet for coffee and he cancels last minute.

Get back home and I have no change for the laundry machine (it takes coins in slots) so I'm freezing up coz I couldn't do laundry.

What a lovely day.

Oh, Yodaman, sorry about your loss. And Comet, that reply is coming, things are hectic atm.

I haz idea for forum. It would basically be a system that would prevent unnecessary digression from hijacking threads anymore...

I've told nonZero, and we'll see what he thinks.

Hopefully make the forum a more productive (and attractive) place if it all works out!

Hey, it's all good! We would have been naive to expect it to go flawlessly.

nonZero seems to be an excellent leader so far. I once heard something, and it's so true: "Servanthood doesn't nullify leadership, it defines it." nonZero has bent over backwards to try and serve the forum thus far (with the icon thread for example, and not acting negatively when it didn't go right), and that makes him a good leader. I also strive to be the best leader I can be, and I know the best way to do so is by serving you all in whatever way I can. I haven't done that yet, but I'm working on it.

Past forum presidencies (to my knowledge) have made minimal change, but hopefully nZ and I can help the forum to become a better, more active, more productive, more attractive place.

The second time in my entire life I made that mistake and I fully blame my phone's suggestive-text. Last night I was very tired and I was tapping auto-complete like a two-dollar hooker on a Saturday. I loathe that mistake personally, that's why I had a need to point this out. Well, that and my pride is now wounded to the extreme so I'm sulking
Ever since going touch-screen, my spelling errors and typos have worsened. Conclusion: this new tech is fail and keypad is needed.
By "suggestive-text" I meant a feature offering auto-complete and not text implicitly adult in nature.

Has anyone noticed those new Burger King advertisements where they take old paintings of famous people and insert something to do with burgers?

Well, I had a go at one myself, here's the result after 10 minutes in GIMP:

VHDL has got to be the ugliest piece of crap language I've seen so far:

On the other hand, being able to program circuits a million times more powerful than the most modern GPU is an awesome feeling.

VHDL stands for VHSIC (Very High Speed Integrated Circuits) Hardware Description Language. There's some acronymseption going on here.

Hmm, either an ASIC or a supercomputer. Though I suppose a properly coded FPGA could be quicker than a GPU.

Full Disclosure: I work with FPGAs and custom silicon quite often, though not on them . I do however code a lot of low-level GPU stuff(OpenCL kernels and such).

This is what the basic character controller script I'm writing in Unity looks like, for the small game I'm making. It's messy, but this is literally just about a day's work (had to re-learn some Unity-specific stuff!):

So I was interested in the chua circuit and decided to simulate it. The circuit generates chaos, so even though each simulation has the exact same initial conditions, the results are always different.

Here's the circuit:

Here's Y and Z plotted against one another:

Last night, I quite literally had a dream that you could go to previous pages in the posting competition, post, and your post would appear last on that page (at least 20 points!). The post that was there before, and all the posts that came after it, were pushed forward one spot. Happy points to next poster
