I got my enemies to repel the player instead of just pushing the player along - this makes it so that the player doesn't get "stuck" on the enemy, and also makes it so that the enemies have the benefit of pushing the player forward if they have enough velocity to break free.

Just wait until I also make the magnets that suck into them and crush you, lololololol

Why? Simple:
1. There were/are a lot of Geniuses who were/are religious
2. There were/are a lot of scientists who were/are religious
3. There were/are a lot of retards ('intellectually challenged') who were/are religious
4. There were/are a lot [tonne] of scientists who were/are geniues [and vice versa]
5. There were/are even a lot of retards who were/are geniuses ('Idiot Savant')


However, I agree that there is more to IQ than the analytical capability tested by classic IQ tests.
Examples:
1. Motor Skills (athletes, ninja's etc )
2. Musical intelligence (Bach, Chopin etc)
3. Analytical intelligence ('classic' intelligence, Newton, Einstein etc)
4. Philosophical intelligence (Descartes etc)
5. Interpersonal intelligence ('The friendliest person you know probably fits this category')

I just finished my second Flash animation. I've decided Flash could be insanely cool, but just isn't. Too many issues. I'll be trying out various other animation programs after this, especially now that I have the screen size to support them.

Interesting article. I doubt they use GIMP, though, if only because it's not really a high-end product. Personally I use it all the time and frequently claim it can do anything Photoshop can do (I have a friend who is a massive Apple and Adobe fan, so I end up saying it a fair bit), and I really like it too, but it just doesn't have the polish that something like PS would have.

I am of the exact same opinion about GIMP as you, but what other photo manipulation software is available for Linux?

But yeah, the Marvell firmware for this particular adapter is busted. If a 5GHz band Wifi and a lower GHz band are on the same SSID, it refuses to connect and even if it does, it has crap bandwidth.

Might have Miracast support then if not an embedded one...

It's embedded, and it's a WiFi adapter, not WiDi(never even heard of WiDi, honestly). It's a common issue with this particular device, and it still hasn't been fixed yet.

I have a Marvell adapter in my Surface Pro 2, working fine... I have both Intel WiDi and Miracast support as well, you should look into those...

What hardware is it embedded into? can you not swap it out if it is a laptop?

They've had 3 firmware updates but it still isn't working right. My Galaxy S3 connects just fine so it's not the router/AP.

If it is the Marvell 350N just install the Pro2 drivers...

If not then wait for the next patch day...

I want to make a game based around the advanced machinery mods of Minecraft, such as BuildCraft 3, Thermal Expansion, Mekanism.... even Applied Energistics. OH, and of course, Project Red. That's the big one! The idea is that you will place blocks down to build machines. Unlike MC, the blocks will be fully physic-a-fied so a machine/car/robot/factory can have moving blocks. In order to make, say, an electric motor run, it would need some form of electricity generation which would need to be connected via wires directly to the motor. For joints, obviously there would need to be some implicit energy/fuel/item transfer between sets of connected (via the joint) blocks, but I think it would be limited to four pipes/cables (the number of wires you can fit around the sides of the joint block) per rotatory joint.

I'm rambling cuz I'm tired. That's the idea though. When I re-read that paragraph it doesn't sound like I have any idea what's actually involved, but I really have thought this through. Plus I have experience creating full MC-style games including speedy chunk loading AND generation with none of MC's missed-chunks issues.

Anyway. The fact that I haven't stopped waffling on (as Lee would put it) means it's well and truly time for bed. Plus I think we're going to some car show tomorrow so it might be worth an early[er] night.
