Hi everyone. Just a few questions. My ex, who is more of a friend has started talking to me again after about 2 weeks or so, and even called me on my cell phone once when I told her I got my 1st cell phone. She & I texted for like 2 hours the same night. Of course, she flipped in a good way, when I told her that I had 1. Well, my main concern is now that I have her trust back, what should I do to earn her back as a girlfriend? I mean I'm getting a job within a few weeks to 1 month. Even though we haven't met, I promised her I'd meet her in person when we were still dating. But I don't know how to go about that without messing things all up... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. =)

Thanks everyone! =)

You mean you earned her trust by buying a cell-phone?

Why is she your ex, if you still like her, and why did you have to win her trust back? You didn't cheat on her, did ya?

@tha_rami: No, no, no, mate. I didn't win her trust back by buying a cell phone, I won it back by giving her her space. You know, playing hard to get. =) And she's only my ex cuz' she really hasn't met me in person yet. =) And no, I'm not the type that likes to cheat.

@Dr Schnitzengruber: I know, but I've been meaning to do this for a while now, but haven't found the time to do it, b/c I've been busy with my 3D RPG.

Well... The most solid advice when meeting for real is be yourself and see what turns out. Rather be yourself than get stuck in your own lies.

That's all there's to it. Either she likes it or she doesn't. If she doesn't, bummer. If she does, great.

Be straightforward and honest. At least, that's what I did. Give her as little time to overthink things. Don't forget she might be nervous as well if you propose such a thing.

A little tip: If you've never met her, (except on the internet), and are planning to meet her face-to-face for the first time, be on your gaurd for 87-year-old sex predators.

Edit: And if you've only texted her (aka, never heard her voice), she might be a he. Just being pessimistic.

Good luck with your relationship. There are 3 currently very happy long distance (or were for awhile) couples in my family. There may even be a 4th soon o_0

@tha_rami: I will give her all the time in the world, I mean she is barely able to come online these days, because her mom evidently hasn't been to work for a few days, and I'm guessing she's ticked. Lol =P But my point is the only means of talking to her that I have now, would be my cell phone. and I can only text her, as I don't want to accidently screw up, and call her during work, lol =P

I wonder if you did, didn't get any invitation yet. Sure you typed it correctly.

Oh and up front, you might have succeeded with her, but there won't be any net-relationships between us, eh. I have a girlfriend, for Gods sake.

Hmm, dare I call it the Jazz Lounge?

I guess not many people have heard of long distance relationships, or at least some have some haven't. The internet's a wonderful thing since it can bring people who might never have known each other together.

Even those! Isn't that amazing? People just give up the paedophile tendencies to go along with someone of their age, two 45 year old paedophiles loving eachother instead of little kiddies. Isn't that wonderful, Benjamin? Maybe you'll find a loving, cynical cat as well, one day.

I know, you naughty little cat, yet, it does bring people together. Just like Nokia, you know? Connecting people. The whole point is that although there are some nutcases, as long as you use your mind it's a great way of getting to know people.

Well, those links are impressive, you naughty cat, but they are rather individual and rare cases, seeing almost everyone uses the internet nowadays. If you act rational and check everything, you should be okay. End of story.

They show that you can make nearly every point seem valid. I think combatting peanuts is of higher priority than internet rapings, because more people die from peanuts than from internet rapings.

The internet isn't a safe place, but a bit of rational thinking would avoid so much trouble.

Instead of doing all that 'sex'-education stuff, they should do 'chat'-education stuff.

I mean, it's outrageous those parents didn't check that guys ID or legimation in the first link you posted. And mistaking a what, 25yo for a 15yo sounds kinda stupid to me, sorry.

They've all met. None are weirdos and everyone is who they said they were. 2 are pretty near marriage and the other couple is a bit young to be thinking that, but they are getting along great so far.

What so you'd ask one of your kids' friends for his ID? Especially when they had no suspicion that he was older than he said.

Quote: "And mistaking a what, 25yo for a 15yo sounds kinda stupid to me, sorry."

Oh so you saw this guy?

Anyway... this is getting off topic.

Congratulations to them. Hearing that gives me confidence that the internet is at least a bit safer than I thought...
