Lovely Very pretty Rolfy, can't for the full game (in like 2 years) (most probably)

Well done rolfy, I was looking forward to this, and it outdid my expectations

I tried that .net DLL and no luck. It's actually an older version than the one that I have there, but I took the newer one out and replaced it with this, then restarted my computer. I guess that it's a lost cause. This is why I avoid .net dependency in my games, it's just bound to cause problems

Just so you guys know, I've had .net 2.0 on my computer for a long time now and have several applications and games that use it.

What is Vishnu anyway? I'm sure that whatever it does, there's a non .net way to accomplish it.

Come see the WIP!

I was a little bit busy after having the chance to play Eldora

What I can say about Eldora is :

E : Extra Ordinary 3D Graphics

L : Lovely Animated Front Screen with the little guy and the old clock

D : Done Professionally

O : Own it .. You must own it yeah ..

R : Rolfy must get a BOTB

A : Attractive game

After All These words .. I can say congratulations Rolfy for this great game and thanks for the huge effort done in this game.

I really enjoyed the game and wish to play the full version too

Great work, the game plays great and I feel like such a wimp because I jumped at one of the spiders. Not once but, twice when I played it over again.

The only thing I found was I could not understand what the little guy is saying. Maybe a note on the door after the cut scene is over to highlight the important parts.

BOTB Game indeed.

Also, no problems encountered with Vishnu protection.

Nice pug. I have one too, but it's not black.
Congrats on finding the hidden area, by the way.

Pugs and hidden areas are great. I have had a tan pug, and they seem slightly more sane than black ones.

Right before I came online, I had my pug laying across my chest. (I was watching TV, so I didn't really mind)

Anyway, rolfy, I'm still trying to find that hidden area. It's bugging me now, because I didn't find it already. I'm usually pretty good at things like this. Maybe I'm over complicating things...

Hey rolfy, if there's any sound effects or voices you need help with I can certainly take a shot at it for you.

Was going to take a break... But I missed FPSC!

Roxas,I believe that Lemur may have the answer to your problem....

Quote: "Lemur is using a method based on the timerbased system, this is where the fps do slow down but the game still keeps at its normal playing speed upto the point where your machine cant handle anymore performance increase."

I have myself tested this and it works like a charm.
I dont know when they plan on a release of this mod but keep your eyes open.

The demo was created on a fairly low end system and runs fine on that.

That Flare engine looks pretty cool.

That is a basic thing in game development.. And actually its mostly used for running game on same speed at every computer. Like faster computers will run the game same speed as your computer..

The source is kinda messy but i think i could find many things that could be speed up and add really accurate timer based system. I have done 2 optimizations into my flare engine and Ive got 4x speed boost. And i haven't optimized everything i can.

Mostly slowdowns are calculations in loops that could be done other way to speed things up really much.. Then there is these definitions. Why to define some variable as integer that doesn't use number bigger to 255 so it could be defined as byte..

Not sure if FPSC does that already. But i got kinda much of Programming Experience in c#/c++ and DBPRO so i can look the source code some day and see if i can get Dark Lights.. Maybe we then see if i can gift this FPSC community what i am unfamiliar.. Tho i need to buy FPSC too off course.

Also what i have readed.. There is some problems with multiplayer?
What i could perhaps do is add multisync there but multiplayer programming is usually big task. But i have one OFPS project going secretly when i have got bored of bugs in other projects. It has smooth movement already.. I dunno if FPSC has laggy movement problems?

@Roxas:

As one of the main Lemur programmers, I can tell you that the speed problems are going to be a part of FPSC so long as the AI and mapper remain the same.

The largest speed degrade comes from the scripting language in FPSC (which by more than one account is beyond archaic). I've figured many different ways to deal with this issue, but since Lee has ever so generously promised us that he'd fix it, I've left it to him. He seems to think that people are going to be seeing performance leaps simply from defeating minor leaks in levels (which no doubt will increase performance, but not nearly as much as defeating the scripting issue). We'll see where he goes with it in the next update.

@rolfy:

I can't hold it in any longer, I gotta ask when we can expect to see more from Eldora?

@ bobert : Your graphics card looks like it dont support shaders used in the game.

@Pain : I can only think you may have a bad install and if so just unstalling it will not cure the problem, do you have issues with other .net programs. What is your drive letter for the hard drive windows is installed in if its not c drive this may be a new issue that needs looking into.

All issues are being looked at.

best s4

Great game, but when I started it, it ran at about one frame per two seconds. It sped up to about ten frames per second when I walked towards that midget's house, but walking in any direction made it drop.

Maybe a mod could lock this or the other thread for me,I only started this one when I released the demo so folks would be aware the demo had been uploaded, its now kinda silly to have two threads for the same game floating around in here.
If anyone wants to comment on the game they can do so here,

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=105794&b=25

many thanks.
