I decided to ask a question, what is everyone on TGC known for (or think they are known for)? I ask this because when I asked my 'Who are the most well-known people' thread, I wanted to get a sense of the people's prominence around here, and though it helped a littled bit, I started this thread because I want to know a little better. SO waht are you well known for, or alternatively what do you think you are well-known for?

- I think I'm well-known for being one of the overall worst posters here, so if you lock this tell why so I can learn for the future.

I'm only well known around here by the people who have seen my work. I don't generally post WIP threads so that only leaves the people I do work for or have connected with through people I do work for. They all love me. All you other noobs just haven't seen my amazing talents ^_^

An incomplete RPG tutorial, numerous failed RPG/MMORPG projects and tests, and posting my age on the forums when my birthday comes around, and I finally think I'm old enough.

I'd say for the few games I've posted on here (namely Revenge and Immortal Guardian), my witty posts, and helpful comments on the WIP board. While I'm no where near as prominent as, for example, Agent Dink or Van B, I've been around long enough for people to at least recognize me.

Then again, maybe this is all fueled by my ego?

CattleRustler - controversial, political
ruccus - excelent 3d modeller
darkcoder - know it all, final exodus
benjamin - blunt, can't help but feel him trying to follow in DC's footsteps
batvink - the newsletter guy!
Van B - the black avatar dude, operation invasion evasion
indi - admin-happy
IanM - DLL's, lots and lots, always has a useful answer to a problem
OSX using happy dude - leaving us for his mac, man of many names.
Green gandalf - for some reason i went for a while thinking he was mike johnson with a new name like ianm, always has a useful answer for something
spooky - fractal terrains
ianm - his big rpg engine thing he's been working on for years
Cash curtis - geisha house. american living in a town named after a rock band in german.
Aaron Miller - Gui
RobK - GUI, took our money and left us.
Mnemonix - Beer
Gil Gilivanti - still owes me a game of ocmpany of heroes

thats all that come to mind, i havent forgotten the rest of you, im just tired..

Around here in the forums? Eh, I guess I'm just trying to build my reputation and prove my knowledge in certain areas. For a long time I was just leaching off members here and asking a lot of questions. But now that I've grasped some programming concepts I've starting to help out a lot more than I used to in the DBP board and I've also started to give back to this awesome community by helping to further develop Van B's Tersculpt engine.

Off the net though? A good looking, fun guy to be around

you talking about 12 Monkeys? I watched that last night! Awesome film

I am gradually starting to become known on the forum, though would be surprised if anyone outside the DBC board knew me.

I am known for picking up someone's code and re-writing it line-by-line in a really complicated way and trying to explain how it works only to end up driving away the person who asked for help!

I wrote some cellular autonomy programs that people seemed to like. Must get back into that stuff

Other people (excluding El goorf's)

Raven - The longest posts in the world!
TDK - Omnipotent when it comes to DBC . Helpful. GUI Functions!
Latch - Has a clever trick for anything!
ButterFingers - Estate of Mind (is that the name?). Having a gay FPSC Trophy
Xenocythe - Hassassin
Jeku - Being confused with Van B! Working at EA Canada.
Rick Vanner - Actually knowing everything!
Lee Bamber - has he ever posted? Being worshipped like a god

Grandma-Benjamin #2, but bent on world destruction
Xenocythe-good MMO attempts
CattleRustler-being political and outspoken
Matt Rock-MISoft
Agent Dink-MISoft web design
Jeku-works at EA

@OBese87 - Haha, nice, I'm there with Rick Vanner, Lee Bamber, and all those other DBPro lords.

@Roxas and anyone wondering,
I came to the simple conclusion that an MMORPG, yet, Massively Multiplayer Online Role PLaying Game, (emphasis on the MMO) is not possible at all in DBPro. The server side has to be coded in C++ or something. The client, being, the actual game, can remain DBPro. I'm in the process of learning C++. That could take a while

In the meantime, I'm making some applications, editors, stuff like 3d modelers, and some other games... like an FPS, and RPG to go along with my soon to start-re-making rpg tutorial, and then maybe a smaller scaled online game, like the size of counterstrike. Sounds good enough to keep me interested for a good while, and then I'll put all my mind to the new Hassassin.

@Gil,
Quote: "Xenocythe-good MMO attempts"

Listy list:
Rami - Everything, I've just known him. First thing was extremely long MSN name
Adam - same as above, but no long MSN name, though he's the best web designer I know
Gil Givanti - Pirates of Port Royale, been on for a while, get it done quicker! hehe
Jordan Stories Games - uber hax
Roxas - Final fantasy
Mike Inel - best work in DBPro I've seen to date
Jimmy - most entertaining forum user. most entertaining avatar.

And maybe for visiting bizarre and weird, repressive countries while my wife enjoys the beach in California. Also, WordTris was my first and last finished DBP game

Oh, sorry. If I'd known a mod removed it, I wouldn't have changed it back. It just happened to disappear at about the same time that I did a major update to my site(where the avatar is hosted), so I figured I accidentally deleted it.

Darn. Now i have to think up another one. I don't suppose just changing the order of the colors would make it any more acceptable...

I know Mike Inel for his crazy ass talent for manga modelling (only girls though, though I like that...)

I especially know OBese for his snippets on the forum. Always a funny or nifty idea to show.

And Benjamin for Multysinc and tempest, his multithreading functions in the code snippets, etc.
And for helping me on the road of C++...

BigAdd - I agree with da power pwnerer...

I wouldn't have a thought of where I would be known of though... Not many threads I made have been replied on.
