Butt monkey, that is disturbing, but just to let you know in my game, so far the facehuggers will send you running. I reduced the number of facehuggers to make a good demo, but even with the current number they still, if you have to reload, will run you out of the room and up the wall. Also I do have music from the all the movies in it, but right now I am trying to make the cutscenes and in-game cinematics. Once they are done, I will go back to the level design. I want the story to be good and honor all three of the films. I have all the levels drawn out and some of them built, but I had a computer meltdown a few weeks ago and I lost most of the already built levels. A good thing, I think.

Marc, I agree with the graphics card being the problem, due to the fact when I built a new custom computer, I put my old graphics card back in. It's a geforce 5500 fx and it is to slow for even the games I do with blender, But I figure that if I can make it work on this card then people with low and high end computers can still play, not just the ones with the better computers. I believe I read in one of my books that game designers must look at all aspects of the game and make it to the consumer, otherwise what's the point of making a game only you the gamemaker can play. Anyway, I will keep at this and thanks to cosmic for suppling and whole packof alien entities for this game. It makes it easier when I don't have to make every model. I just finished the animation of the weapon in the game. Stayed up until 2 in the a.m. to complete it.
Well, thanks to all that want to see this game done. Here in about a month I will be taking a voice casting call, if anyone is interested, just tell me here and I will get back to you. I need someone with a voice similar to paul reiser, otherwise this will not work and another like ian holm, the android from the first movie. On top of this I need four additional voices and one for the main character to sound alittle like hicks from the second movies. Just drop me line.

I just finished the demo and I have to say the custom media you have created is fantastic why did i never think of an alien fan game it perfectly suited to fpsc I hope you can put all your media into a really atmospheric game it is crying out for cool sound effects like comunications between fellow marines and maybe audio logs of the dead scientist and civilians I remember alien vs predator 2 the game had a great atmosphere here is a video of what I am talking about

Ok, I can't help myself, this game needs new screenies. Here's one of the new egg. I had the first one and I decided a couple of hours ago that I didn't like it, so I made this one. This one has everything custom from the textures, to the animation. I reason it took so long to make just a simple egg, was, I watched the first movie for the egg and the special features for the origin of the egg. This is what I come up with, the original egg had a small mouth opening and the ones from aliens 4 opens quite abit wider. With that in mind I made one that would fit better in fpsc and give the facehugger a lauching pad in a matter speaking. Hope you all enjoy.

That egg looks more beautiful than the one I had for breakfast

One more thing I forgot to say in the demo you forgot to lock some of your doors so you could walk out into the skybox I know the demo was only for showing off your custom media but in the final game little things like that can kill the atmosphere

I agree with what small fish said about AvP. I remember playing the first one and it scared me to death. The rooms were pitch black and all you had was a small flashlight which illuminated the way a few feat infront of you and all you heard was the tone of the tracker getting faster and faster as aliens ran at your from out of the darkness. It was incredible!

Butt monkey I have been working on that before I just saw the video. I am trying to incorporate that idea along with the tracker, but the tracker's scripts really slow down fpsc even with the mods. The tracking sound might just be the alt.
For all of you the doors were just leading to other parts of the ship that I had not made yet. I will release a new demo with the new updates and possibly intro video. I have been making the intro and cutscenes in parts due to the fact I can't render the scenes with the computer always under constant use. Hope you all enjoy and do please comment.
You will noticed that there are two of each alien and facehuggers. I noticed from the test that mine seem to be alittle agressive compared to the ones from cosmic's pack. Now I will just have to do the same to his aliens.

If you have not played my previous demo, I would like you to try it first before this one , so you can compare the two. In this demo the lighting is where I plan to keep it and from the previous demo I locked you all out of the rest of the levels. (Edit) excellent but you should really point out that there is a flash light I spent a few minutes bumbling in the dark before I realised that but apart from that it was great the animation on the pulse rifle was smooth and looked professional and the motion tracker seemed to work fine

Anyways, small fish, I am glad you like it. The weapon animation is not mine I just put my model in place of the original model. All I can say is, Thanks CP! However the alien skeleton, the egg, egg skeleton, the facehugger, and all the scripts are mine. I have made from scratch a new alien with a mouth that opens up and well, let's just say if he ever gets this close to use this animation, it's "Game over, man. Game over!" I also been working on the three marines that will be with you at the beginning. They also have a mouth and eye animation. Time for supper now, enjoy!

I just want to add that you have the pulse rifle spot on. It feels fantastic! Not a huge fan of the flashlight though. It really desaturates all your lighting. You can't actually tell if your in a dark area or light area with it on. I'm not sure if there is much you can do about it though.

Yes, I know. Iwanted to get the feeling just like from the video above, but I needed something quick for the demo and this was what I had in the scriptbank. I want it to be less light and flicker to give a empty effect. This I will work on, and maybe for the next demo I will put it in. Right now I am working on the alien animation to give it the same movement that the aliens had in the 2nd movie, like hanging from the ceiling, running, tail attack, grabbing and killing the plr with it's mouth, and a few more things. I want the feel and worthiness of the movie, but still have something from me. I have had a few request to work on this game with me and I have accepted one of you to help. If someone would like to help on this, then here is what I need at this time. I need someone who can texture from scratch (using pictures and other references) and I don't mean cut and paste. I do that just fine. I need a good scripter. Also, I need a sound guy to make radio chatter and etc. And that last thing I need is voice actors. These people are a must in order to make this. dude keep this up -- im looking forward to seeing the final product-- try buying sprite pack one -- it has rain slime and water decals in it -- along with a variety of explosions smoke and whatnot---they work fine -- i just delete the sound files to it and replace them with softer more realistic versions of the sound

Just to update here is a pic of the pistol for the game. I found out the sidearm was actually a mk23 or 1911 take your pick. I modified the texture and add the optics from the m4. I will do more on the slide later, but for now I know it works in game and that makes me happy. Enjoy.

looks good but the texture on the top of the gun looks really washed out, i dont know what programme you are using but if its photoshop try using a hard light, soft light or overlay filter on the green layer, it'll look a lot more realistic, or if you don't have photoshop you could post the texture here (without the green) and i can do it, but I think this game is looking really great

I would love to help but my modelling and texturing skills are not great and I can not script for love nor money but if you need a voice actor with a very English accent which is unlikely considering marines are nearly always American but anyway just ask

Mazz the texture is from ww2 1911. I f you would like a go at it, it would be appreciated. I will be making a slight modification to the slide to give that aliens feel, but it will still use the same texture.(I use gimp btw)

Small fish there have been several actors with an english accent in the movies like john hurt and ian holm. I would love to have you do some voice acting. I will send you the script when I am ready with the final draft.

Butt monkey, I have been playing avp2 and the radio chatter is what I need, but I need to write for it. Will let you know when I am ready for that.

Thanks to all who want to help. I stayed up late last night trying to make a better radar script using only one triggerzone and it looks promising, but I emailed hockeykid to see if he has come up with a way in the fenix mod for this. My original radar script was made using a trigger per segment and was slowing the frame rate way down, so I needed a new way of doing it.

Today, I plan on making all new doors that fit the alien genre along with the medical center in the area of the opening into space in the first demo. I also noticed and have been working it, the aliens in avp2 move different to mine and I want to get that animation just right. I want to also include the acid pool when they are dead and have them fadeout through the floor, but it want leave a hole, just want a way to get rid of the body. Well, that's all for now. I need to get to work on this stuff. I will post screenies as I go.

I made a website that will be for some of my work and stuff for fpsc, blender and whatever else I think I want on there. I choose to make my page from scratch. I have never done that before, so this will be an interesting experience for me. Don't worry I am still on this game. Besides, no one has made a comment on the hive test yet. That's all for tonight( have to get up early and go to work like a normal human being).

Small fish I have been busy writing a new script to include more detail and some much needed radio chatter. I will get you a couple of parts out to you in a week or so.
Today, I was working on one of my blender games and I thought I would let you all try it. The controls are w,s,a,d to move the maze and c to change the camera view. If your graphics card can handle it in the first view press f to have a bloom effect and spacebar for a light scattering effect. Now I know it is not a fpsc game, but it something I am working on and I don't feel right if I didn't let you all see it. So, please enjoy and feel free to comment here or send me an email.

Small fish I hope you liked it. I finished the script for your lines. I'm having the wife proof read and type it out to send to you this weekend. If you don't mine I have you in for two parts. Both characters need a english accent as you put it. One part is the role of ash from the first movie and the other is a marine named lucas. If you would like to only do one role then I can work with that.
Which leaves me with two roles left to fill. Any takers? One of these is the starring role and the other is brutus (the model I showed in previous post). If you want to give it a shot then post here and I will get back to you. Until tomorrow, have a good night, it's time for me to hit the sack. Knees in the breeze at 0500.

hhm ash I don't know while my voice has an accent it also sounds rather young I will give you a sample see if you think its ok also I could try 2 characters but they might sound really similar

Your voice will be changed as for the balldrop I was having small problems with it but that was not one of them. I will try to fix it tonight.

Here small fish this is what I was talking about.(in download) You see ash was damaged in the end of the movie so by changing the pitch and filter your voice I think it will give you an older voice and damaged. Some parts of Ash's dialog will come straight from the movie itself.

I remade the mk23 and added more to the slide. For the texture I used soft light green overlay. I also switched this weapon to be on the left hand to keep the primary weapon in the right hand. The reason I did this is I am both handed and it just seemed fitting. I watched the movies all day today and realized how the majority of the actors grabbed their weapons. The primary and knife were used in the right hand and the secondary in the left. Enough typing, here's the pic.

I'd put some grey into that green and decrease the colours saturation. I just don't think it looks quite right yet.

Why the hell are you so rude??? If you ask nicely maybe I will anwser.

Buttmonkey I am still working on the texture. This was the I think the third or fourth test and I just wanted to show what I had done in the way of changing the model. The new model has a better texture and has somethings added and removed.
