I got a bit of a problem here I was finishing the latest level but when I tried to build a game executable fpsc crashed so I went back to an early version of the level it worked fine but I if a add anything to the level like new rooms or entities it makes fpsc crash again I am going to try updating fpsc later anyone else had this problem?

Well, teh only solution I know, is to make smaller levels... This has happened to me many times and still I don't know any other solution to make smaller levels... It kinda sucks, when you have a killer level made...

Small fish sorry to hear you are having problems with the game build. I don't know if this helps, but I seem to remember somewhere on here someone made or talked about how to assemble multiple levels into one game. Maybe this would help you from making a bunch of smaller levels. In fact, you were the one that asked the question and apple slicer gave you this link .

Chidem, if you can maybe you can do a small tutorial on this. Thanks.

Small fish I hope this helps you.

starmind 001 I will try that way of making a single executable but I only think it works with earlier versions of fpsc but I don't think it will be that bad if all the levels aren't done in an single ex I could try to make a launcher program like the one in Anderson and the legacy of cthulhu
(edit) I just tried to build a game in fpsc and it crashed when it was trying to make the sky

I had that problem with the skybank too. What I did was backed up all of my files and reinstalled fpsc. After the install of 1.16 I began moving the files back into fpsc, one at a time until it all started working again. What Mined did was when I go to preview the skybank in the setup level it would say sprite not found. Also if you are using the new fenix mode it also has that same problem, but just remove it for the build game and the just change the exe later to the fenix mod.

well I think its got to do with the size of the level or the number of polygons in a level or something not really the skybank but fpsc seem to work fine with my other levels at the moment (knock on wood)
anyway here is a screenshoot of another new level I am doing some sections outside the palace

I'd recommend Fenix Mod. Free too.

But I know what you mean. FPSC can be like that. I hope you will get this out and that was just something headless people say when tehy are mad...

Small fish if you need my help with something just let me know. I have been working some long hours and have not done much lately on my hobby as well.

I do hope you get your fire back on this, but sometimes a change is worth it. I stopped for awhile and just made models with CP to get my fire back. Now I have alot to put toward my game.

And please don't stop this game I am looking forward to it. Its the only game on here that has a decent story line. Your games make a person go back and play your old games and each one of those are so unique it's like a 007 movie you don't have to watch each one to enjoy it, but if you play them in series it makes it all the more exciting.

Here have a pint on me and take it slow.

owww come here and give me a hug.
I'm sorry about my immature outburst earlier don't worry like I said I will finish the principality no matter what. but there is still one more problem with fpsc that I could use your help on fpsc wont build a executable with more than one level so I am going to have to do the levels individually is there any chance you could make a game launcher like the one in Anderson and the legacy of cthulhu because I have no idea how to make one of those?

Yes, but I am doing some stuff to make it better along with some brand new mars one project work, but I am carefully laying out both plans with the new features that fpsc will have. I don't want to spam your thread with my stuff and I am very glad you like what I have done. The file I sent you is better than the one on youtube. Good luck and hope to see you back to work on this.

Glad to see that you are back! I will work on your new title screen in the morning for you and try to get out to you within the week. As for your email I enjoy helping you out. It is always exciting to see what you do with the items I send to help out. Free stuff always helps out and also doesn't confine your vision of making the game. For me little or big stuff help the vision of the game come that much closer to reality of being completed.

I am just glad that it helps you and seeing stuff like that blunderbuss in game it just tickles me pink, that just by helping you with animating that you trusted me enough to do all of your weapons for your game is thanks enough for me.

hi guys I'm getting close to finishing the game now and i am getting to the point were I put in all the voice acting. so if anyone on this forum thinks thay can help then record some of the sample lines and send them to my email address

Characters and lines -

Reynald Fox

Sex: Male

Age: 32

a experienced British agent sent on his most dangerous mission yet his voice should be calm and calculated

sample lines

I do this for queen and country

looks like I have got to fight my way through

dam and blast!!!

I swear you’re the only sane person in your family…

Prince Constantine

Sex: Male

Age: 20

the young and charismatic new leader of mars sees himself as a messiah to his people few know he has been driven insane with power he has a an british upper class accent but he is easy to anger often yelling with rage

sample lines

Meet the Knights of Phobos, brittle little spy! Crack troops, trained in hellish conditions on the harsh, Martian plains; armed to the teeth and armoured cap a pé. [Pronounced “cap a pay”] And how do you compare, hm? A tired little mouse scurrying in a maze he cannot understand, snuffling for a whiff of Prince. Of a Prince who already knows your every move…

I am not the first! I am not the first to stand upon the Alps and gaze upon the Roman plains. I am not the first to sail toward the cliffs of Dover. And I am certainly not the first to have beaten your weak, worthless England.

you will live just long enough to regret that

Princess Anolexia

Sex Female

age 21

the elder sister of the prince she hates her brother for starting this pointless war and wasting so many lives she also speaks with an upper class accent

sample lines

Listen, I don’t care one jot for your fat, sprawling homeland. But I don’t want more deaths. The native Martians, the ones who lived here before, were massacred. I don’t want that to happen again, not even to the people who did the killing in the first place. Which is why I’m – was – locked up in here. My brother saw me as a wild card, a free agent. Thought I might overturn his plans. And that damn computer of his saw me as a “complication”, ha!

God, are all you British as dull as this? My brother has rather… unfriendly plans for Earth. First the Empire, then France, maybe a few choice cuts of Habsburg land. He has delusions of grandeur: he thinks he can stamp out his rivals by shouting and bombing.

CONSAL

CONSAL is an ativical intelligence created by the British empire then reprogrammed by the Martians he is the princes chief adviser his voice robotic and often glitches basically think Shodan from the system shock games but more steam-punk

sample lines

This is the Spectre Palace Logic Engine, name CONSUL. All Station personnel on the alert.an intruder has been sighted in section 5 subsection C terminate on sight

automated security systems on-line

CONSUL sees all

you are insignificant compared to my majesty

you can attach any auditions to the email or zip them and upload them to filefront

Hi all,

For those of you who don't know, I wrote the script for PoM and helped smallfish with PoM1 (music, a few voices etc.). As other commitments have become more prominent I've been less able to help him out but I did do the CONSUL voices for PoM2:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VJZFYLTQ

I was going for a Steampunk version of SHODAN, the crazy AI in the System Shock series:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXPmtf4udRE

I can't really help with the Principality as much as I'd like but I can still do the CONSUL voices. I can't finish them off immediately because I'm at university right now and the stuff I need is on my home computer, but I'll be back home in about 8 weeks so I can start then. Obviously, if Starmind (or anyone else) can do a better job then I'm happy to hand it over to them but I'm still willing to do all the voice acting and sound manipulation needed to get that crazy-AI feel.

Small fish I wanted to show this test that I made of your new title screen. For those that don't know I have been working on a title sequence for this game to help make this game stand out more, so I have picked a screenie of the title screen that does not reveal everything that I have done. Just enough to get more c&c for Small fish on this game and keep it on top. Here is the screenie:

Also Darth Kiwi if you would like go ahead and do the Consal voice, that will give me sometime to add to this project. I have something that I emailed Sf on that will light up your day.

To all enjoy!

Will do! It won't be done for a few weeks (I can't get to my home comp till uni term finishes) but I'll get it done eventually.

The title screen looks very serene with the orbital palace floating off to one side; I like it. Will you have more things (like menu-text) in the screen when it's fully integrated? It looks a little empty at the moment.

The tank is cool too.

@ small fish
Dude, I got your email, but I can't download the old stuff from part 2 because it is a .7z file. ( .7z ???)
Sorry, but I am unfamiliar with that file format. (maybe a decimal in the version number in the file name messed up the file extension?)
I cannot locate the old files on my computers and I want to listen to them before I do the new lines.
Will you send me the ZIP file that I sent you last time for part 2?

Thanks,
