Just wanted to welcome Zwarte Piet to the "Dark City" crew. I'm looking forward to see what he comes up with for this new Mega pack.

Cp, I have failed you buddy, I saw this and just went right on by, so to make it up to you I am making some interesting stuff for you. The problem will be the setup for it. It is long and tedious process, but the effect is well worth it. It is just a couple of items, but it will make you giggle.

Awe Come on now brother. The only way you could ever let me down, is if you were to quit being my friend. And since I doubt that will ever happen, you've got nothing to worry about.

Jeez, now you've got me hanging on the edge, wondering what you've got up your sleeve. HA! cant wait.

I have it done for you and I made a short little video of it for you. It takes about a minute or two to set everything up, but the tedious part comes to play for how many times you want to replicate it in the game. I will box everything up here in a sec and send it to you along with the insrtuctions. I do hope you like.

Shadowtroid: Looking into that for you.

OK my friends, I have an important question for you.

There are a bunch of new segments that are planned for this release. The custom built segments will be included of course, but for the rest (Which are just segments that I had planned to make using Firma) is the issue I'd like to address.

If I make those segments, It is going to push the download size way up.

Would you guys prefer the pre-made segments, or a set of textures that you can use to make them yourself, and save yourself the agrivation of a REALLY HUGE download?

At present the download for this pack is nearly "1GB". And were not done yet.

Majority rules, so please post your preference. Thanks.

Update: I've recieved that special something from my good friend "Starmind" for this pack, It blew me away!! What it is, I'm not tell'n. But you guys are going to flip!

And good 'ol Charger Bandit has come through once again, with some cool stuff as well. this is going to be HUGE!! my friends.

1gb!!!

I don't mind, but I guess most people would prefer the segments pre-made. Are you planning on a number of downloads?

I've pretty much given up on Mediafire. They simply can't handle the volume of downloads.

When the pack is done I'm going to send it directly to my good friends xplosys, Nickydude, and TemPLaR for beta testing, and it will be officially released as soon as they are finnished with it.

Unfortunately, I am also considering letting my website go down, because I simply can't find the time to keep it updated, and running.

I have several new packs lined up, and the workload will be far to extreame. These include:

Sci-Fi Part 4 ( which will include a collection of new Sci-Fi Weapons as requested by Plystyre)

A Modern Warfare Pack. (which will include Armoured vehicles of all sorts, and a collection of field equiptment).

And a few surprises that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

The new packs sound great.

Are you still working on the "Nuke City" pack or is that now part of this pack?

I say this make both available in seperate downloads: one for those that can't or do want to make their own and one for those that are willing or just want a smaller download. But if you do that I would include a little like map or guide of what you had planned for the textures. A way to set it up is always nice to see what the artist was going for.

Are you planning to have these compatible with Bond's shaders?

I think I'll have the premade segments. Cuz I'm lazy like that.

Plus there's too high a chance I'll screw up.

And also, for the scifi weapons thing, I am super happy to hear that, (we don't have nearly enough good quality sci-fi guns) but you must make sure they're good. If you screw that up I may never be able to forgive you.

Looking forward to that.

As for ready-made-segments vs. textures, I would say textures as then you can mix and match walls and floor to your liking and there are a few good segment makers out there like Signs & Firma and I'm sure someone would be kind enough to create segments for those who can't.

Cosmic your skills never fail to amaze me. I don't know which is better the fact that you model so incredibly well, or that you are willing to freely distribute these models to this community. You most definately deserve every patch you get. I can't wait to use your Cosmic building in my next creation.

I'm going to vote for textures as well. There are a number of free and cheap segment tools available, and as Nickydude said we can mix and match what we need.

Looking forward to the download pal!

Brian.

Great! Thanks Guys, I think I've got the issue resolved.

Actually, Thanks to our good friend Terry Schwarz ( The Brilliant developer of "Signs") that is.

He is working on a very special addition to the Dark City Mega Pack. And no, I'm not telling you what it is, so don't ask. heh, heh.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll be posting more screens soon.

I've incorperated those models into this pack. This pack has destroyed and damaged buildings, as well as clean ones. There is a ton of stuff going into this pack.

As soon as I can get some needed models finnished, I'll be able to post some screens so you'll have a better idea of what I'm putting together here.

Idk how you do it Cosmic you produce quality AND quantity! I can only do quality, but then variation makes up for quantity.

I am checking this thread everyday for new screens I love anything that is ruined/city/building grunge type of models, also If you are interested do you want to see some of the stuff I've been working these past months? Maybe you could even give me some crits

I would love to do something for this pack but my mouse is busted (it was heavily abused) and i only have my touchpad which is no good for 3-d work.

In the Modern Warfare pack by then I'll probably have a mouse and make some guns.

We have all the Time we need. I'd much rather take the time to produce a quality pack, than rush through it, and come up with something less.

Because of the size of this sucker, I need to take more time than ussual anyway, to get everything set up right. As soon as all the custum segments are finnihed, I'll send you guys the files so you can get everything you need to continue building.

So yes, my friend. Plenty of time.

Edit: Man, I tell you what, that guy zwarte piet is kicking out some awesome stuff for this project. I'm blown away. I wonder where he gets it from?
