I have been working on a possible Model pack based on London.
Not really sure if it is good enough to become a model pack,
or even if normal members are allowed to submit them
Anyway here are a few pics of some of it and if any wish to see
more pics, I have attached a .rar of lots more.

Crits are always welcome, as I am still learning how to model and
work with FPSc, so don't hold back on any negatives. All crits are
useful be they bad or good

p.s. If normal members are allowed to make model packs for FPSc, could
a Mod or Staff member let me know ^_^

Very professional models - and a lot I haven't seen do far

The subway segments and trains are as good as I remember those from Silent Hill III (loved this subway level) and the escalator is something I always missed from the modern packs.

Great Work @Nbt!

About £12? seems the going price for a model pack, but that would really be up to TGC bods to value it I guess.

I really would like to sell it through FPSc so they can get their cut as thanks for making FPSc, which has given me hours of enjoyment

I really don't want to rip people off on the price, so if any think I'm being naive I would greatly appreciate any comments on the matter.

Thanks for all the nice comments from such valued members it really means a lot.

You could ask developers who sell both Official Model Packs and single/bundled models in the Store what they would recommend for you.

Very nice. It's evident the amount of work you put into this. Great job. I would recommend releasing a few small, free, "fully compiled" packs so as to become familiar with the file structures required for an official release.

If you are already, familiar with it, ( making sure everything installs properly without any problems), then I say compile it and submit it to TGC.

You never know. Anyway, fine job keep 'em coming.

I've developed a new philosophy... I only dread one day at a time.

I tried making a quick demo of the pack, but forgot I had upgraded to v1.16 again and of course it crashed
So here is a little video of me walking about in FPSc London
Sorry for the quality as I just slapped it from Fraps to wmv and also sorry for lack of audio, as for some reason Fraps hates my soundcard

Impressive! I feel like I've been to London now. It's good enough to be an official model pack in my book. It's hard to see all the content in the video, but what I see looks great.

Cheers Brian

The attached screenshot pack in the 1st post shows much more of what is included and a lot clearer.

Here is a quick contact sheet of most of the stuff included (I'm at work and don't have the latest build of the pack here)

I kind of set it in late 70's early 80's London (Hence the old Routemaster buses etc) so there was no London Eye back then

I was tempted to add Mary Poppins floating about with her brolly and a few cheeky street urchins and go for that universal London feel, but that would be going too far ^_^

@Nbt: I am curious, is that looooong subway train made of segments, entities or a mix of both?

Modular Entities, so you can make the train cars as long or as short as you wish etc. same for things like the escalator it's modular, so you could have hideous long ones, wide multiple ones, or simple single ones like in department stores etc.

Same with the buses, they are included complete and split into external, internal, windows parts that clip together, so you could use a bunch of external only bits for distant clutter and save on polys. Most buildings stuff is modular allowing different combinations of each to make different buildings to your hearts content

Sounds very good @Nbt

EDIT: I remember from your great sewer models thread , that you started to work on a system with building fronts as entities, where segments where to be placed behind it to create complete buildings.

Any news on those?

What can you say, Your skills and dedication to fine model practices are a blessing. I have down loaded some of your stuff before (sewer pack) and everything runs great. Keep up the great work. This looks like a very sellable pack.
And again, Thanks for the past free downloads. Your stuff is always welcome in my games.

Looks nice from what I can see, but I would suggest, that when making a showcase video of a model pack, make the level lighter, so we can see all the stuff. But very nice!

Yes I was hoping to make an official model pack and no it will not be free.

@ The Grunge Guy: Huh?? he he he

Anyway I have e-mailed Rick to enquire if I am good enough to make stuff for FPSc, so will see if I am barking up the wrong tree or not.
If I am good enough, then all is cool and if not then at least I will know where I stand once and for all
