Hi,
I'm making a game called GreeD.
There are four people working on this project.
Programmer and level design:Myself,
Maps of game:My brother,
Posters and logo:Vahid Heydari,
Launcher,Menu and Huds:Sadegh Molaei.

Logo:
You can see the logo at the center of the poster which means Greed but it's shape is like طمع which is in Persian.

General Storyline:
An Iranian scientist achieves lot of new things about genetics.
But America send some guys to use that scientist but they make a mistake and the whole city become zombies and monsters.
Now you are from a special force and have to find the reason(You don't know anything about those Americans and scientist).
The story has lots of detail and can't tell you even in 1000 lines.

The first screen is by far the best. There's minimal to none lighting in the last 6 screens, which doesn't look good. Story seems rather generic but game logo looks impressive.

Unfortunately, I am let down. After seeing your excellent logo, I was expecting the cities to look that amazing.

Though it's good that you've already planned for lights to be implemented into your scenes.

I like it so far. Yes, it's nice to see someone using a mod in the WIP. Most people know it's a WIP but sometimes they forget.

As SC suggested fog would be nice. It would fit the story.

Thanks for nice comments and thank you SC because of the mod.
I'll do lighting and try fog,But because the city is using whole the map by using fog you might can't see some buildings and the map won't show itself,Anyway I'll try it.

As one of the most important thing in game making is good speed of play and high frame rate and WASP do this I'm using it.
I'll use other features of WASP to.

Too small.

cant see nothing, use a higher res, or dont resize them. (if you use 12311835418795314x128412689143879651 Rezise to 1024x768, its more handy and we can look at it just fine

800x600=Small Can see fine,but with less detail
1024x768= the best.
Higher or Lower: Not good, may lag the internet.

The game is coming along alright! It still looks a bit basic but you already stated that you'll work on it.

Looks nice.. However I think that if you used a similar style of that shown in the Concept Art(GreeD title pic) it'll add to the awesome.. But still looks nice, however the city shots are looking a bit.. Dull. Likely the lack of lighting... But other then that good work keep it up!

I was working on a super great cool script but the function I need is not available.(I asked Scene Commander for adding it to WASP,I don't know if he accept codding it).
If this can be solve then you'll see the most different gameplay ever made with FPSC.
I can't tell anyone about the idea as I want to make it as the first guy.
After I say maybe some people do it better than me so I can't talk about it.

Why do all iranian guys get just advertized for games that arent the best of fpsc... and they just put these guys on the top of the world, but of course, 90% percent of people wont read it... 99%...

i mean, this game lacks good use of lighting,props placement... and it still pops out on magazines, well then, by now im Microsoft's new owner

I done a little level designing but this won't be in-game like this.


Well this screen is a little different than other screens of my game and even every games from FPSC so it's not bad to take a look.
Please don't say it's bad If there is any problem just tell me and it's bad is not a problem.

I like hte idea on that screen in your latest post, but it needs alot of work, especially the lighting. But I know it's just a concept.

But the corridor's lighting in your last screen (in the post that's 7 posts above mine) looks very bad. The light rande is really small and it makes it look boring and dark. The city screens need lighting too, but I know it was a tabu to say this. THe design looks really good on that city!

Overall, the design looks very good, but also very basic in some areas. You're doing well, but there's still alot to improve.

I will check it but as it is an extra corridor and there are more ways for going to other side I think it should be like that because of it's situation.
But I will show that place to my friends and even let them play then ask them about the lighting to be sure if in-game it's looks bad again.

I found some really little problems and added more details to it right now so it is better now.
For example in the forth city screen the zombies aren't right on the blood splatters and it fixed.

Yeah,I agree.
Some places really need to improve.
Now I am working on a real hard script for making a better gameplay but it's really hard.
I can't tell the idea of that script to anyone because I wanna be the first one who made this in FPSC,But remember that you can see this in just about 3 or 4 AAA games.
And this script needs modeling and animating but after completing it I can use it at many areas just by a little changing and this will be one of the best gameplay made with FPSC.
I hope I can do it.

I will add shaders to everything(Specially bond1's shaders) and I have a friend with the ability of shading in HLSL and I know a little by myself then we will make new shaders for this game.

As I described the story in a bad way I edited the first post but I removed the city screens.
I won't work on this until 5 July because I had to study for university and a big C++ project for it.
But after that I will come with some surprises that you can't see in any other FPSC's game.

There are some shading language like HLSL means High Level Shading Language or GLSL or GC which uses some libraries to let the people shading but the format of the files are .FX,What you say is like you are watching a movie and you say I am watching a .AVI because the format of that movie was .AVI or again you are watching some screens and you say I am watching .JPG or BMP or...

You have really good project, and actually great logo!
Screen shots are good, but look for lights at level (dark levels are good, especially on FPSC, but to dark level isn`t very good to).
And will you change segment texture in this location?

Thanks for your comment and the suggestion about lights.

About the segment's texture I have to say I won't change the ceiling texture because in my opinion it's really nice but I think I can find better wall texture for it.
Actually I talked with 2 modellers for helping me and they can make textures too,so I might remake some parts.

Something about myself:
I showed my C++ project to my teacher in university and I was the only one who get A and most of the students got C.
After this I believed myself and I thought I can be one of the bests in FPSC.
Now I have to study for exams but after that I will show something completely new in FPSC.

**I have some special news here**



First news:

I built a new PC yesterday and I can continue better than ever.
Here is it's specs:
MB:Asus P8Z68-V pro
VGA:GTX 580
CPU:Core I7 2600 K (4 core/8thread/3.4 to 3.8GHz)
Ram:Corsair 8GB Dual Channel (2x4Gb 1600MHz)
HDD:500 32Mb Buffer
CPU-Cooler:Thermal-take spinQ
PSU:Green gp885b
Case:Green Falcon
With DWD-RW-Window 7 ultimate 64Bit-Anti virus-taxes etc I paid about 2000$.
So I installed 3DSMaX and some other 3D programs and will make the game better than before.
Another news:
2 modeller came to my team so we may remove pre-made models and will make all by our self(except characters).
Another news:
As I had lots of designing works in 3DSMaX an studio wants me to join them.
They are in another city so they will pay my hotel when I am there and will pay my airplane ticket and my food and will pay a salary each month.
They are making a game like heavy rain association with 2 other big studios and they have a very big budget.
So I have to finish my game faster because if I join them I have no time to work on my game.
Three months later my work will start but two months later the meeting and briefing with their team will start.
And they are using a 1500$ game engine.

Finally I have to say this game won't complete in FPSC,I bought a 1500$ game engine and joined a very large company to make their first 3D game(They made lots of commercial 2D games before)so I might re-make whole of this game later in another game engine.

And this is the last screen of the game:

I used Ambient occlusion,16X Anisotropic,32X Anti-Aliasing and 8X Supersample in the latest screen just enabled them using my VGA's driver.
If there is any problem about designing and lighting just tell me.

Lets see, you started working on this in April, took it all the way to August, and now you are just abandoning the project? So that's how many months work gone to waste?

The design is very blocky, lighting needs a whole lot of work and the screenshots do not convince me to try to even download it.

The menu art looks good, but that alone doesn't make it a good game.

The first screen, the one in the first thread, AND the last screen you supplied are basically the same thing. One with Jake's MP5N and one without but in a crouched position.

By the way which game engine did you happen to buy which cost you a mindblowing $1500? And could you link us to the game company you joined, so that we can view their portfolio and/or buy/download their big "commercial 2D games"?(or we could try a demo if they supplied any.)

Its really no surprise either guys. Don't you realize that most games on these forum are never completed anyway?
I've dropped at least 2-3 games in the past myself.

I saw that link and hope you can find some people better than me and become successful,I sometimes check your thread and see the news and anything else in it.
But that company is going to give me lots of money each month and as I am technical manager of the project I will own a little percentage of all money after finishing the project.
So that's better for me to even forget about my own game(GreeD).

About GreeD I have to say I will re-make it with a team later and the concepts and the story have a very big potential but I have to become a very great game but the designing will lose because of changing the game engine.

I can't say the name of the game engine here if you want the name ask me by mailing me(Arabzadeh.payam@gmail.com)
But here is a screen of my job in my new game engine.
I done it in only 4 hours and it has lots of problem right now but for a 4 hour designing I think is good and the grasses are moving like waves in the wind.


In some tests I was getting only 15 frames in FPSC and the polygon count was 1million but in my new game engine I added 3.5 million polygons and my FPS was about 60.

Well, if you couldnt tell, i was being completely sarcastic.
I dont think Ive ever posted like that before... the OMGOMGOMG is jsut not my style

Anyways, if its true that you joined a studio, then i wish you the best of luck. And I still dont understand why you cant give the name of the engine, but it looks pretty good Best of luck from my side.

I can't say the name of that game engine because rules of this forum don't let me do this.
Again by Mail I can tell but not here in TGC's forums.
