Jimmy's a perfectly capable webmaster; I just wonder what the hell's wrong, really. I need something/someone to blame it on.

I just hope it's not down perminately and we haven't lost a few weeks worth of Helpfile entries because of possible lack of backups...

jrowe, don't worry, I predicted this might happen again, and have regular backups

It's all safely sitting on my HDD... Speaking of which, I might actually take a backup of it, just to be on the complete safe side ( you never know! )

Anyhoo... I *am* seriously thinking about getting paid webhosting. I know a good, cheap, fast, feature-packed, reliable host that I can use, and have a few idea's for domain names.

I dunno, I'll sort it out, I s'pose. See what I can get together soon. I just want it so if I move, it's final. That way, noone is left in the dark with old, redundant links!

But, enough of that, this is a thread about dbSpot, not dbHelp files

Jess.

Man, you guys act like it's the end of the dang world.

WELL IT IS!

Jess, I would not be insulted in the least if you got hosting somewhere else. Heck, I would if I were you as I regret to inform everyone that dbspot will be on hiatus for a week... if not more than a week. But it will be back again and I will gladly continue to host dbhelp if you need it.

I will also be creating new accounts for those left out of the dbspot flavored jello jamboree.

I do apologize to everyone with much sincerity. Please except this pathetic smiley as a token of my sorrow

Why on earth would you upload your site and then delete it from your hard drive? Especially to a free webserver? The logic of some forum members astound me :-P

Well then it took up too much space on MY hard drive, too!

Sorry, but all of the crap. The crap. All of it. Is gone. I don't even have a backup of the DBSpot site. Oh well, all's crap that ends crap!

And now it's time to lock the thread.

Hey, Jimmy, sad to hear that you lost everything... Oh well.

Anyhoo, I guess I'll start sorting out a host for myself now, and I suggest other people do the same, stop complaining. It's your own fault that you lost the work ( just like it was my fault I lost the work I did when it went down last time ).

Deal with it.

*cough* *cough* leys has his own hosting, and for a limited time, you could get a subdomain with cpanel 10.00 with unlimited mysql, php, cgi, email accounts, and 100mb of space, and uh, who knows on bandwidth. http://projectlance.net
and it gives you a simple subdomain.
email leys about "Free CP hosting" and he should do it. lol sorry if adverts werent allowed.
