looking good. real good. but how far is the multiplayer code? teh finished?
and do you have any quests? i could help making some quests (i mean no coding, im talking about writing quests in a text file) if you are interested.

but you might really want to re-consider the price; i say make it freeware and you will get more people to play and it will get popular, maybe so good that someone is willing to pay to play it.
and that is the correct time to start selling it.

myself im trying to keep all my projects open source, i dont know why.. maybe because when i started as a programmer i couldnt understand anything and it took me months to get something done properly. my first game i wrote was called 'sheep hunter' and i wrote that after 1year even now after 3years i have no match against other programmers here like VanB, Freddix, Cattlerustler, even you maybe. (just to mention a few). after 3 years of db background i still feel like i havent learned anything.. but hey why am i talking about myself... maybe even to myself:o ok ill stop, but i guess it all depends on the author

great looking game btw.

edit,
hmm this templat for the first post looks fairly familiar

well, im sorry that you have to pay for it... its just i need that small amount of money to keep a PO box, server, ect... its not that much. also, as more ppl play i might be able to lower the price

btw, about the multiplayer code that Lukas mentioned, i have quite a bit of it done. im having a small problem with speed, but i think i can fix it... and for quests, i think im good

This is looking great man

I think it could cost U$1,00 and the character creations could be reduced to 3 (if you don't wanna keep at 5 )..

Good luck dude

well shouldent you keep it free untill its complete? it looks alot better than most mmorpg`s around here but it still seems to be far from the stage where you can charge money for it. for instance on the equipment screen it doesnt look like you have any items? im sure you can do very basic images to represent what it should be so it can be later replaced.

and showing some online screenshots would be helpfull since its an mmorpg, like in a battle with some other people, unless you asked them to pay aswell :p

Dude, PO Box. Who will send money through mail, expecting to have an account. How do we know you didn't draw those pictures, and that this whole thing is a scam. I'm not trying to flame; I just am not sure how to trust you. And if you do have to pay, I am not playing, I can buy a candy bar for 2 bucks. Even king sized. Runescape is free if you are nonmember and yet that game is great. If you truly believe your game is better than runescape, then charge us a measley two bucks. Later dude

i dunno about anyone else, but i dont see any evidence of this.

all i see if a barkbasic terrain, slightly altered backdrop colour, a transparent plain for water, a cube, 2 sprites, and a few text lines saying some numbers.

@Sony: I dont know how anyone else is to trust me either... but ill think of something... dont worry i have 5 months to come up with it.

@dark coder: im sorry i didn't tell you this earlier, i only like to show my objects textured cause i think the look very strange without them. im trying to do it as fast as i can... for example, im doing it right now. ill show some new screenshots soon.

and as for the equip, i can put some items on there if you want, its just i haven't finished the code for the inventory, so i didn't finish the equip

Hi,

What you've shown is really not ready for a WIP. It looks like about a day or so of work. While it's good you're doing that, unless you have something to show for all this progress you say you've made, this isn't ready for show and tell on the forum and I'm gonna lock the thread.

Hahaha.

But forgot to click the lock button.

This shouldnt be locked anyway.

IMHO, hes shown enough progress, and it looks cool!

NOT HELPFUL.
Anyway, gameplay matters much more than graphics, but I'd still recommend to jasonhtml that you posted a couple of screenshots; Textured or untextured, it'll show that you *have* been working on it, and at least stop any chance of this thread getting locked.

Yeah, I agree with Ian, people just need to be more demanding of "work in progress" games.

If you know that little about how networks and the internet works you shouldn't be trying to make an MMORPG . Try for something more realistic...

ok... ive been working with my router and FTP server app. since my last post, and it wont work. i think its my stupid router and i could use some help; Specs:

Ftp server: GuildFTPd and WarFTP (i have both, and neither are working. also, i have a dynamic IP, but i have a DNS server with dyndns.org, so i should be fine with that)
My OS: Windows XP SP2
My router: Netgear WGU624 (ive forwarded port 21 already)
What happens when i try to connect: "Operation timed out."

btw, i got two concept art drawings that i drew:

NEW STUFF[Edit]: i decided i didnt want to use ftp for obvious reasons... and i decided to switch to EZ_Serv, so far it works well
