cool

Scorched Skies is nearing completion and all we need to really finish the ANIRE Inferno engine is a shader programmer, have you got what it takes?

OK Green can you texture my temple thing I'm making? I'll post a picture of the mesh in the default DeleD texture. And if you're up to it then I'll post the file.

It's somewhat small; it's all cut up and I think a dragon could fit through. (course with textures it can look burnt and have ruins)

EDIT: Nevermind I have the texturing UNDER CONTROL.

OK here is something i'm working on now. Just a pic of some of the pillars, and one of them in ruins.

Yeah no problem, that was really only just the beggining of the a whole scene that I was going to build. I was going to build like a Parthenon structure all run down and in ruins. Do you want me to put all the different pillar forms in seprate files, and still work on a whole stucture, or just scratch the whole structure?

pat, can you post the amount of polys? the pillars seem to haveabit high polycount, the treelooks good to me, should not have to high polycount, stay lower than 40 polys for plants.

Yeah the pillars are pretty high poly. I mean I could re-do them, and not put the curves in the pillar, just have them smooth, and that would drastically reduce the poly count. I am kinda thinking that would be for the best, because at the time of my modeling those pillars I wasn't thinking about poly count.

BTW, something i've been wondering, who is the project leader/manager?? Who here makes the final decisions on things?

Also, I can't get into the forums on the Anire forum, it says only moderators can view.

1. Project Leader/Manager was (probably still is, actually) Eray, but he has schoolwork so pretty much Dark Eternity and Green 7 are those two big fellas.

2. I made you mod on all of the forums I am But I didn't know if I should admin you or not, nothing personal but I don't feel like doing that without DE or G7.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile, i've been really busy. Anyway, I finished the temple, and I attached a pic of it. As soon as I find a converter for maya files i'll start posting the files. BTW, where should I send the files?

Converter for maya files? Do you mean the free edition of maya? if your talking about the free version, then you might as well delete those models. There is absolutely no way to convert those files. I tried for like 5 months. I couldn't get it. I was so sad. There is absolutely no way.

Can't beleive its not butter.

Hey guy's. I've been reading this thread and your project sounds fun... I'm a bit too much of a novice to be of any help but I'd certainly like to keep up to date with the project.

One thing though... I cant get www.kinggamers.co.uk to work... is it down or what?

well here is a brief story:

king gamers started and later on i joined and then king gamers joined my team (ANIRE) and now eray has abandoned the project because he could not make it but the ANIRE team are working on it still(DB Newbie,patio,green.7,me,jism cake, dan, ethan and gamefreak10k)

i will keep this thread up to date more if you wish but there wont be any demos for a little while as i am going to finish the multiplayer part of it first so you get a real feel of it as what is the point in making tons of innovation in a game and the critics only see a bugged stage?

Till then,

right spoken king DE. (team internal joke)
As he said, there is much progress going on, but nothing is really complete. we all are working on different parts of the whole thing, putting it together, testing it, makeing bugfixes, building on...
it will need it's time, we all are still learning, but we get better every week. members are joining, members are leaving.
we still are in search for programmers, especialy such with expirience in shader issues. at the moment, im working on the planting engine, got it on a early stage, but still there's work to do. modells of the dragons are an other task im working on, and much more.
But to show up screens would be wrong for now, as we said there are now most working code fragments and good ideas that need to be merged, but it's going on!

i really should change my pic to a crown shouldnt i?

yeah we would like anybody skilled to join but before anybody joins i must ask, are YOU ready for this team, i am proud to say that everybody in the team is 100% dedicated and i am proud to now be the leader of this group... i am currently optimising cliping planes and loading times, the current test level loads at mostly 1024x1024 textures and a couple 512x512 textures in 16 seconds, optimised from half a minute

Till then,

hey everybody,
i thought since this uses pixel shaders and more advanced graphics and more to the point mp3s and DBP i will let this topic die and start it in the DBP board because that way there will be more attention on people joining the team etc etc, thank you for your support and feel free to read the other thread
