Quote: "In the last generation i felt like xbox and ps2 had more games. And in my opinion most of the games that i thought were really cool were in the xbox and ps2. i felt like gamecube had less games. and most of the games that i liked in the GC were already out for ps2 and xbox. infact there were very few of thouse for the GC. right now i only recall need for speed game (dont remember the exact name).
in my opinion gc failed."
Can anyone tell me what was wrong with this paragraph exactly?
Well the most obvious aspect was "The Nintendo GameCube had less games than the Playstation2 and Xbox". Sorry but while I'd agree the library compared to the Playstation 2 might appear a little lacking next to the Xbox I can't remember which has more game, but it's damn close. They both have a library readily available of over 350games each.
It has available on it, Need For Speed: Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted.
Oh and let's not forget that while Nintendo sold the least units and games, they actually made a profit last generation. They might not be top dog, but they're certainly going to be able to financially outlast the competition. If you want to see a failiar Nintendo Console look no futher than the N64.
Quote: "i think that sinse nintendo and microsoft teamed up, they will probobly share a lot of games."
Nintendo and Microsoft haven't teamed up. God knows where you'd get that idea. Niether company is worried even slightly about the Playstation 3 though. Kinda ironic I think.
Quote: "and sinse sony is selling final fantacy (squarenix?) to microsoft"
Square-Enix are an independant company.
Crystal Chronicles (GameCube)
Final Fantasy XI (PC & X360)
Final Fantasy XII, XIII & Vs XIII (PS3)
Advanced Tactics & Anthology (GBA)
Yeah, that is some huge Microsoft change of hands. It's irritating that Square-Enix are still creating for Sony, even after all the hassle. If it wasn't for the Playstation providing them with more space they would never have moved from Nintendo in the first place.
Quote: " then there might be more than 13 final fantasies coming out."
More than 13 Final Fantasy's already out.i
Quote: "think the problem with nintendo in the past is they did not buy enough licenses from other companies. if they did and for example the all mighty and popular gta was avaliable for GC, it would have been more sucsessful."
Rockstar tried to get Grand Theft Auto III on to the GameCube, but 2 things stopped them. They claimed 1.4GB per Disc wasn't enough, but the real reason was because Nintendo wouldn't give them a Seal of Approval. Too many bugs in the game, that's how most GameCube games are; might feel like there's less of them but they work to a far higher level-of-quality than you'll ever see on the Playstation platform.
Quote: "on the other hand (i am not sure about this) if xbox and sony are competitors now, sony might not grant licenses for microsoft so xbox 360 wont have any upcoming gta games."
Yeah, I'm fairly sure that's why GTA4 hits the x360 first this fall before the Playstation 3 or Wii are even released.
Quote: "nintendo should try to aquire more licenses from other companies so they could publish more games which will greatly increase their game selection."
No, Nintendo could've done with focusing more on the European and American key demographic though. The sale of Rare, was quite obvious they weren't doing that. It was just as well that the 3rd Party Developers like EA and Capcom knew what they were doing.
Quote: "If the popular game comanies will stay with the sony and microsoft, and wont go to the wii, despite of wii's awsome consoles, all the popular games will be for sony and MS. what makes people think that the companies will suddenly turn over to the wii?
if wii will be a repeat of the gamecube , it will die."
a) That's retarded thinking. Wii is catered for a much broader demographic as a whole, where-as Sony are aiming directly at the 18-24 Key Male Demographic (as always)
I think you'll find that it's now going to be down to more fanboys(or girls) about how popular Sony is this time around.
Everyone has say 1 maybe 2 games they want for the Playstation 3.. hell even I do, but those are exclusive games that won't go on any other platform. Still Sony can go hump a lampost if they think I'm buying a new Playstation for a handful of games.
b) NINTENDO HAVEN'T STOPPED MAKING PROFIT IN THE LAST 6 YEARS. Sony and Microsoft made huge losses last generation.
Microsoft this time has learnt and designed the X360 with that in mind.
Quote: "but gamecube had very pour selections of games. i never liked nintendo games much. i loved the playstation and xbox games, they had a lot more games and which i liked more than any nintendo game i have ever played. all of my friends have either an xbox or a ps2. (if they ever had a gamecube i didnt know it utill they showed it to me lying dusty in the corner untoched for years. pretty much all of my friends either hate gamecube or dont like it. The only reason some of them have a GC is for SSBM which is i guess one nintndo game that has mario in it and is quite fun."
That's all down to where you buy your games from really.
I have a fairly large library of GameCube games I absolutely love them all. I also now have fairly large Playstation 2 and xbox libraries.. I must admit the 360 gets played on ALOT now, but that's only cause my mate took battlefront 2 back.
Down to the gamer and their personal choice.
I thought that Starfox Adventures was pretty awesome, Zelda, Crystal Chronicles, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, NFS: Underground 2, Star Ocean, etc..
Each and every one of those games were pretty awesome.
Quote: "example. TES oblivion was a big hype among the TES fans (i am a hardcore fan of the elder scrolls). they blew away the fans with flashy graphics and awsome articles and reviews. I was very exited for the game. in the end half of the people ended up either hating it or not liking it as much as the previous game morrowind. (take a look at the tes forums). i liked it at first but got bored of it after a month (i havent been bored of morrowind for 2 years). so i went back to morrowind"
I thought Oblivion was a big steaming pile of FPS-RPG ****.
Although I know alot of people liked it, I honestly felt it was bug ridden and just boring as hell. Teach me to be play another Eldar Scrolls game.
