It my new horror game it’s mostly plot driven so here it is the years 1947 you play as Philip Spencer an assistant to Dr Mannford an renowned historian and rare book collector who lives in new York his asked you to drive to the remote fishing village of blacks mire to meet a dr cooper an old friend of his who is interested in selling an book he found recently you wouldn’t normally go to such a remote place but your being played well and you should be able the buy the book and get home in a week end little does Philip know that dr cooper has been murdered and that an evil cult will stop at nothing to find the book and kill the one that carries it

I would also like to point out that this game is much much better than the principality of mars my last game which was a bit of a disaster

here is a screen shot

okay first mastercheif 193 thank you for being kind as always second Opposing force what can I say but opps I promise the text in the game will be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar but really I'm in an eternal battle with dyslexia when it comes it writing so please forgive the occasional error but you didn’t say what you thought of the pics Rilejarom did you not like the character retextures or the fact it was a small corridor? Anyway I’ve just finished the 9th level there only about 16 in the game I got a lot of variety going but the thing is do I post pictures of the later levels or do I kept them secret so there a surprise to the player. The whole game should be finished in about 3 weeks

3 weeks should do it I’ve just finished the tenth level there’s only about 17 in the whole game. The only thing that’s troubling me is the last level all the way thought the game I have been hinting at a huge monster the cult worship as a god but I haven’t got a monster model I could use as a boss and for some reason my copy of lith unwrap isn't unwrapping my models and my animation skills are just awful so I really don't know what to do for a boss.

Ok first a pic of the prison from a level based in a police station note even through the frame rate is low according to the number at the bottom of the screen the reason it was slow is because I was running windows media player in the back ground

Right had a crash lost about a months work but do not fear it was a blessing in disguise my games suffer from being to long and because
of that my games tend to get rushed towards the end when I want to get the game finished so I have a cunning plan I will release the game in parts about 3 or 4 levels each episode every episode will have a different character and setting that way I can give each level a ton of effort to get it right I will call it The Tales of Cthulhu the precipice is only the first in long line each telling a bit of the plot anyway just getting the intro and ending video done now and it will be on file front soon

I really like the painting small fish too blurry to tell what the media is tho' I'm guessing it's pastel.
Your game is looking good,if you use the pitcrawler, you should retexture it,give it a fleshy look to make it match your game.
Chupa Cabra has also released some characters that with a little retexture could be used to good effect.

thank you both of you and wait a minute your the guy that made the dragon and the pit crawler your models are great they have really made making a Cthulhu game easier and as for the Chupa Cabra models I've already downloaded the werewolf and the vampire lady and Frankenstein I was thinking of retexturing the werewolf into a shoggoth

yep that what I thought a 15 level game for me would take almost a year (that includes cutsceans' huds so on) because of work I make games at an very slow pace and with the episode format you can find out if people like your game before you commit yourself to make another 10 or so levels for it anyway almost done post in a day or so

But seriously I've been working for days to get this presentable fpsc is as buggy as heck the loading screens were wrong the weapons were wrong anyway you can download the game on the link at the bottom of the post. Anyway if you've played the principality of mars I just want to say this game is MUCH MUCH better so please download it and tell me what you think

(EDIT)-Well, I have finished The game and was quite pleased overall storywise, but had problems with a few technical issues. Most were FPSC engine related and have occurred in others games time and again. Here they are-
*Stage1_Start- a chair falls in front of you.(intentional or no?)
*Stage1- Lag, lots and lots of lag (some are attributed to faulty modeling in the standard stock staircase model)
*Stage2_Starting area- Lag(this is due to the cieling having sooooo many pollys. Its so round it looks like it was done in sketchup wich is infamous for unnessecary high pollys. Just a guess)
*Stage2_second floor_room with nothing in it- Fall through the floor on occasion.(known FPSC Problem)
*Stage2_'OtherWorldTunnel'-Took Damage when entering.PLus when exiting the tunnel I was faceing in opposite direction.(inentional or FPSC error?)
*Stage3_start- Took 40 something damage right off the bat, right after recieving 100% health at the end of stage2.(reward then punishment? or FPSC error?)
*Stage3_Start- Door behind you <whispers>still functional<whispers> forgot to solidify it like other nonfunctional doors?
*Stage3_'OtherWorldTunnel2'-Also took damage when entering.
Stage3- Lag also(staircases and much fire.)
*All stages-enemies didnt drop weapons or ammo(kinda un realistic since the weapons are left behind when the bodies fade)

That's about it. I was wondering what version of FPSC did you use? I thought most of the tech problems were taken care of in later versions. Story wise I believe you were true to the Mythos theme and I do look forward to your next installment.

Some one liked it hooray did you read all the notes and was my voice acting always hear able often I had to rerecord my voice because I was to quiet any way as for the bugs lets see

Stage 1 the chair at the start was meant to be spooky like some otherworldly force pushed it over but I guess it did look like a glitch

stage 2 I'm sorry about the slow down but I tried taking stuff away but that made the place look bare and unrealistic I have no idea how they put so many items in anderson and Cthulhu with out slow down they said once on there tread but I didn’t understand

Stage 2 as for falling through the floor that happens when you go near the desks I thought I solved that problem by putting the chairs in front of the desks apparently not

Stage 2 As for the damage taken when you enter the tunnel and at the start of level 3 I have no idea why that happens or how to solve it I gave health at the end of the levels because of a bug in the built game when you leave a level with health at less than 100 that becomes your max health.

I didn’t know the doors weren’t solid this glitch is new to me I’m not sure this is because the doors were static or because I gave it no script I can’t remember which I did I will look in to it

As for the enemies not dropping weapons I didn’t want the player to find guns like the Tommy gun until I wanted but if you think I should change that for the sequels then I will change it.

I was using fpsc version 1.04 rc2

Btw I sorry for taking so long with the response but I was really bogged down with work the next tale should be done in about a month or two it will star a detective who has been hired by Dr Mannford to find what happed to Philip

Not a problem, as I said most of it was known FPSC glitches and not on your part. You may want to go with the latest version for your next episode. BTW how far along are you on it?

Sorry for taking so long to answer but I really busy with work and since I don't have any home access to the internet I have to wait until I can get to the internet cafe.
Right I on the second level of part two and I have a few problems getting it to look right you see it's the black hill caves I mentioned in the notes found in the first game problem is they just don't look like caves so I'm going to have to create lots of custom rocks and stalagmites and stuff it's going to take an age. Anyway I'm hope to get the whole thing done in about 3 or 4 weeks I do hope your not the only one playing this Disturbing 13 I wonder if Mastercheif 193 has played this yet?

err...hallo HALLO anyway if anyone’s interested I still on schedule and I just trying to get these dam caves to look right the one I have at the moment just looks awful so I'm going to have to make some custom segments And I think it might be nice if the main character of the tale has post traumatic stress from the war so when the gun fights start he starts to get affected not sure how maybe flash backs or sound effects stuff like that. I know this sound immature but I'm putting a ton of my spare time into these game if your reading this and haven’t downloaded my game please do so immediately and post your comments here I need support just the odd comment or two even if its negative

Right sorry for taking so long but it been an age since I have been able to get to the internet cafe but I have done a tone of work so I will post two screen shots the first one is the asylum and the second one is of the caves. The caves are really taking a long time to make because there are a lot of custom models.

ok here is the caves I should point out that the door won't be in the final version and I think I might change the texture also I'm in an eternal battle with the frame rate so to keep the frame rate down so one or two of the levels might be a little short. I'm not sure what I will call this tale but it will be longer than the last about 5 levels long
