Red cross on a Dollar could signify another currency (not a dollar). Considering large community of British people here (and DB itself is British), then not a great leap to think of a Pound.

Yep. I only asked you to guess. Didn't say actually do it, or if it was going to be any help whatsover. Tsk... Mwahahahahaha.... Would be funny if it is someone called Turtle now...

First thing he ever said. I think his name is "si". Heh...

Also he sounded quite a lot like Yoda in the original post... who else did that?...

And the first thing he said basically showed the answer was the buttons on the number row at the top of a keyboard are equal to their shifted versions. Something to do with shift in the name? Plus he got that from copying down his own keyboard I bet. Which means he isn't from the UK (look at the shifted symbols). Maybe American or a Froggie perhaps... who do we know who lives in France?... C'mon now, isn't hard, and was a suspect...

Hehehe, you know this has been one entertaining thread I applaud myself. I mean him...

It's England, Froggie is the term used... we learned that one in our French lessons...

I'm still not getting it...

Empires falling - new continents - would that be after the Roman empire fell and Europe could be Europe and Asia could be Asia (as the middle east certainly was ruled by the Romans)...Dazzag spoke of the Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy, but I don't have the bloody book, so I can't finish this damn clue! I don't see how the last of the 12 Caesars tie in - as the last Emperor in the first fall was Augustulus (not Augustus...maybe that was a typo on the website and that it was really Augustus?) The second fall is really just the scholars being pedantic by saying it's the real fall of the empire, but a connection with Byzantium and Constantinople would be even more confusing.

So Dazzag, is this Caesar connection to do with Augustus? If so, please do the honours of completing the clue as you have 'Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy' - if this is you sending me off trail - then I will seriously eat your nose.

Hmm...maybe there's another connection here...Wasn't Dante's (or was it Virgil?) novel a piece of propaganda of how 'great' Augustus was?...Dante can also relate to Devil May Cry - the brothers of Sparda are 'Dante' and 'Virgil'. These are all educated guesses, but please somebody say I'm on the right track and to actually mean rather than to humour me/confuse me even more. I hope what I've said rings a bell in somebody's ear so we can move one step closer to working it out.

[edit]
Why oh why did I go to a state school fulls of chavs for my education up until the end of A Levels - I could have been smarter and worked this out by now.

No because I would commit suicide soon afterwards and that would be pointless...unless I found some ear plugs strong enough to drown out the sounds. (Not that it will be loud, I mean a normal pair will handle the decibels, it's just the sound will disintegrate them)

In that image, notice the 3 capital letters which also happen to coincide with the three numbers below:
Letter: G I N
Number of lines needed to draw: 2 1 3

The mountain and flag image means 100 (10²) high (no dot to join them).

100 (10²) in (get this!) ROMAN numerals si 'C' which happens to prefix -puter with an 'om' to make computer!
O and M also happen to be either side of the capital N!

From that link:

Quote: "
Two years ago, we opened the floodgates for readers to vote for their favorite games of all-time. You heard right, not just what you liked in one particular year, but from the entire history of games. The debate over what ended up on the list lit up the message boards. Over the past few weeks, we gave everyone another shot at their favorites again and the results are in!

Our criteria for creating this list of your picks for the Top 100 Games of All Time are as follows:

* All games had to receive at least 1,000 reader ratings.
* This list is comprised of single, stand-alone titles and doesn't include compilations, expansion packs or add-ons.
* Titles with multiple editions such as collector's boxes, gold editions or direct re-releases have been consolidated into one single entry, with the edition receiving the highest score taking the place for other editions.
* Updated versions of original titles were only included on the list if they were significantly different from their predecessors.
* Only games that have been released are eligible (this is for all you punks who think The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii is a perfect "10" already).
* Games released anywhere in the world (that means Japanese-only releases) qualify for the list.

After you've had a chance to check out the readers' list, tell us what you think about it on the IGN Boards."

For me, the inspiration might be from "The Adventures of Lolo" 1, 2 and 3 on the NES. It's whats currently driving me in the game I'm working on. I guess Final Fantasy Tactics would probably be second, then Mega Man, any Final Fantasy game, Chrono Trigger..."

I'd have to say: Secret of Mana, Mega Man 2, Vice Project Doom, Ninja Gaiden, Crystalis, Shadowgate, Legend of Zelda (Link to the Past), Akira, Don Bluth Cartoons, Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Series. My goodness there are many.

The most important influence was my friend introducing me to Dungeons and Dragons in high school. I never played the game but drew up a character that would represent me. Since then I've changed my focus of art from realism to cartoon animation and fantasy illustration."

They all mention Megaman. Can't see it in the top 100 list on IGN though...

Interesting...somebody guessed Chrono Trigger with the whole existence of time thing, the top 100 games includes Chrono Trigger (In the top 10) as does that link Benjamin...

The main character of Chrono Trigger is called: Crono, there's also Lucca (wild guess LukasW?) Marle, Frog, Robo, Ayla, Magus, Ozzie, Slash, Flea (Last 3 are rock stars as well, Singer, Guitarist, Bassist...), Scala, Lavos and the list goes on...

He mentioned a trigger of time in one of his earlier posts: That could be the Chrono Trigger, an item that was used to revive Crono after he died during the fight with Lavos 'Outer Shell' - the Chrono Trigger froze time and they saved him by picking him out in front of some attack from Lavos. His death was reversed that way.

Quote: "Crono then challenges the creature, attempting to save the lives of his companions, but Crono is killed, his body vaporized by the monster. Lavos then destroys the entire kingdom, transports its prince, Janus, to the Middle Ages, and sends the three Gurus — Melchior, Belthasar and Gaspar — to various places throughout time. Before the remaining party members and Magus can be killed, Schala, Zeal's princess, saves them by transporting them out of the palace and to the only remaining human settlement while she remains behind. However, Crono's friends have little time to grieve before Dalton, a former leader of security in the kingdom, arrives at the village and declares himself ruler of the world. Having saved the Blackbird — an ornate airplane — from destruction, he interns the party aboard and takes to the sky. Additionally, Dalton impounds the Epoch, and has his henchmen give it flight capabilities. The party soon escapes and defeats Dalton in a battle atop the redesigned Epoch, which the adventurers then use to accidentally blast the Blackbird while they escape. Distraught over Crono's death, they meet with Magus, who reveals that he is Janus Zeal, and grew up in the Middle Ages waiting for a chance to get revenge on Lavos.[18] Moreover, he offers the party members the opportunity to settle their feud in a final battle, and informs them that Gaspar could possibly help bring Crono back.[19] Should the player refuse to fight Magus, he then joins the party.[20] Visiting the old man at the End of Time, the player learns that he is Gaspar, transported here during Lavos' destruction of Zeal. He gives them an egg-shaped device called the "Chrono Trigger", which he explains allows for a special form of time travel. Following his instructions, they soon use the device to visit the moment of Crono's death and freeze it in time, extracting him from the moment just before he would have been killed."

Crap.

Just did a rather interesting Google for the following keywords:
Quote: "chrono trigger deus ex icarus daedalus metal gear solid"

I stumbled upon the following:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_Deus_Ex_characters#Artificial_intelligences

Stating that there were an Icarus and Daedalus in Deus Ex.

Quote: "Everett's compound is quite vast, encompassing computer and nanotech laboratories, hydroponic growing vats, a repair depot, and a helipad.

Everett was the creator of the prototype AI codenamed Morpheus, which later became Echelon III, and was the architect of its successor, the Echelon IV AI known as Daedalus."

Quote: "Icarus
Icarus

Icarus was created by Bob Page (head of Majestic 12) as a replacement for Daedalus, which had escaped from his control, and has similar functions to its predecessor. [...] Icarus eventually merges with the Daedalus AI to become Helios."

Quote: "Morpheus: "You will soon have your God, and you will make it with your own hands""

Clearly Deus Ex, it seems as if he means Morpheus in specific. In that case, you could see it as if he means Crono, from Chrono Trigger in specific too.

There will be no more Sadness. No more Anger. No more Envy.
