No he doesn't... ; /
That's just completely ripping Portal which i'm guessing is not his intention.

It looks good Puss, but can we see some more screenies??? : D

@AaronG: Hey, thanks for the support. Although I wouldn't go making loads of stuff straight away, as I want to consider carefully the elements of the game and any videos tied to it. Speaking of which, I'll probably do my own video, but a website would be great. I wanted to do a website with the austere company feel to it, but having the 'smiley' look as well. We can talk specifics later on in the game's production, as I'm still in pre-production, but feel free to come up with some templates, etc. As for game textures, I'll let you know if I need custom ones. Thanks again and have a very [FILE MISSING] day.

@Butt monkey:
1) I'm not ripping off portal. But now it's been linked so closely to portal, suspicions are sure to arise.
2)Screenies will be shown when ready and probably in batches.

Puss,
That quirky sort of black humor is what suffocates me the most. (in a good way.) I look forward to this game restricting my breathing as much, or more than portal did. (enough portal comparisons yet, Puss?) If I die while playing, I'll make sure my family doesn't press charges. Breathing is overrated.

S.M.I.L.E. industries is going for the windpipes. It'll take your breath away! (Especially when I reveal moer screenies, hopefully soon)

MP mode is officially on. God knows when I'll make it, probably after the games release, so I can nail the tone and feel of the single player. Team skills will be necessary!

hehe very good

if you set layer mode to "overlay" rather than making your smiles transparent and such it works better

EDIT: feel free to use my logo... its rather appropriate

@Ocho Geek: I tried all the blending modes, but none of them got the look I wanted, not even overlay. Although I'm certain I used a blending mode on the smiley in desktop 2.

That'll come later down the line. I'm only just preparing to begin full production. I still have a lot of ideas to throw around, but the first level should be underway any time now.

This is looking really good. What kinda thing will you be using to get the players through the puzzle? Like a portal gun (LOL)? Or is that classified?

Anyways, looks great!

For the first Level

i suggest having an empty tiled room with one fake (entrance) and one real (into the game) door while having your voiceactor deliver a speech to the "applicant"

then have the player start the challenges... like portal you could possibly fit several challenges on one map

Actually, I already know how the first level will play out. It should be one of those things that makes you laugh at your own lack of attention- S.M.I.L.E. Industries' way of judging your judgment.

Thanks. I've been catching up on coursework and stuff lately, so this hasn't been my priority, but right now I'm working on some custom textures and enemies. I'll post screens up when they're in a workable state.

Pus,
Feel free to do so. But give me credit. Wow, I've always wanted to be in the credits of a video game! Even though I'm probably the only person who ever watches them. It's because I'm obsessive compulsive. (even as I type, each finger gets the same amount of key presses in relation to the number of key presses that same finger gets on the other hand. [That sentance didn't even out my key presses correctly, so I totally just pushed the period key with four fingers]) Oh, wow, I get off topic fast. It's because I'm a lttle bit A.D.D. I'll seriosly just go off into nowhere about nothing and by the time...

Yoad Fototototo is not here right now, he found something shiney and may not be back until tomorrow or later.
