Fallen one: Lovin' 'em brother. they look great! I want to try and match the colors you've used to render the seas, to fix the new water segment texture included in the pack, so they match up as close as possible. ( To ensure a more uniform transition from ground to skybox at the horizon, or where the end of the map falls off).

General Jackson: No sweat, bro, I appreciate your concern about my feelings, but there is really no need. I don't take offense that easily. Fallen one is nearly a 5 year veteran of the forums. He's been here long before I ever showed up. He simply wants to ensure that his work maintains a professional standing.

To be honest, I find it a bit flattering that he views my work to be good enough to want to contribute to my many projects.

Anyway, it's all good bro.

Starmind: Yep, that did the trick. Thanks for the heads up.


O.K. My friends, We're in the home stretch.

Things left to do:

1. Do a Pirate themed retexture of the "Thug".

I would encourage those who are good at texturing to "Pirate UP "any of the existing characters you may own, to give you a larger variety of characters for your Pirate themed games.

2. Add two or three variations of the Red coat.

3. Add two or three more dead pirate Characters.

4. Add one or two crew member characters.

5. work out a few small issues with the weapons.

6. Add one or two color variations to the water segment.

I'll post more screens of my progress tomorrow. YO HO!

Nickeydude: Hope you drop in to read this. if not, I'll drop you an e-mail. This is gonna sound crazy my friend, but I need some talking bird sounds. I went and built a parrot, ( what kind of Pirate pack would it be without one, after all ).

I got this idea of having the parrot talk when you walk up to him, or even give clues to the game ( where to find treasure, where to go next, that sort of thing). I don't have a clue how to script something like that. I'll have to leave that to the scriptmasters.

Anyway, I would like to get my paws on some parrot sounds to set up a simple sound feature to the model. If you have time, maybe you could come up with something. Thanks.

Here's another, this was tricky to get the effect right.

Ill get these 4 packaged and sent off to Cosmic when I get the time, I may do it after I update my site, Ive got a new app to add to it, Ill do it after that, so its done and sent off.

Depending on how long the release is, or if I see something good, like new characters, Id do one more skybox, (skull Island with a smoking volcano) but if not, you will have 4 skyboxes anyway.

I'm surprised Cosmic knows Ive been around longer than my join date says on the forum, Id forgotten myself. I do know I checked FPSC when it first ever came out, I used to check the Devmaster game engine lists for suitable game engines, back then fully featured game engines used to cost a pretty penny, you had to go cap in hand to publishers to get the dev money to use them, which was like getting blood out of a stone, unlike today we have cheap engines and portals to distribute indie games. So anything that was fairly complete and low price had to be looked into as a possible engine choice, so I do remember looking at FPSC when the engine first ever came out. I do remember looking at the demo and doing a few posts on the boards, then getting caught up in various publisher time wastes and not looking at the engine again for a few years. I must of had different accounts as well as I have 2006 as the join date, wouldn't surprise me if its the third account Ive had. Ive no idea how on earth Cosmic Prophet knows Ive been around here longer than my join date suggests, I think my paranoia may flair up and Ill have to get the old tin foil hat out again.

Notice this, 'inspired', and it's id, but thats just a trivia detail.

And ewe should see my act in pedanticalness 'id' bet the Lol would never end, I really like to spell the it out.

You know, I can't help but be amused, This pack was going to be a small pack at first. 10 or so pieces. put together with some stuff I was playing with months ago. Now we're topping out at nearly 100 or more new pieces of media.

Including: Props, Weapons, characters, Skyboxes, huds, sounds, and segments.

Unbelievable! I want to Thank all of you for your kind contributions, and for helping to keep me focused on this project. It's turned out far better than I could have imagined.

When this pack is finnished, I have some requests, and a contest prize I need to get done. After that, I'd like to do something differnt.

I want "you guys" to choose the theme of the next "Cosmic Prophet and Company" ( heh, heh, from the newsletter) Mega Pack. I'll build and texture all the models, and those who wish to be a part of it, can help get it put all together with me.

The gun is great, a pirate sword, or back sword as the English called it, one of those would be awesome. Though I dont think Id sacrife a character being done for it if it was a toss up and one had to be dropped.

I definitly want to do a sword. A good pirate pack needs one. My only concern is that we keep the continuity of the packs weapons.

The hands, and texture that Teamhalo used is what we need. or different hands with the same texture. Otherwise it will look dumb if the hands change with each weapon, right?

I plan to include all the items that were submitted in the bonus folder. Which includes awesome versions of the pistol and rifle made by DJMaster as well, but with different hands.

I'll send teamhalo an e-mail and ask him about a sword. If he cant do it, then we can use the version of hands used by DJmaster.

That way we can keep all the wepons uniform.

Does that sound OK?

General Jackson: Alright then. Youv'e got the Job, my friend. I'll send you the current weapons, and the new sword model tonight. Then you can get them matched up with what we have already.

I had a thought about a fourth, and final weapon as well. A "Blunderbuss" to do some serious damage.

Cosmic I gorgot to tell you that I fixed my fpsc. I can do all of the remaining weapons now, everything is back to normal.
I've been taking this pack more seriously now and heres a weapon I'm working on for it and I'll model a sword up if you need one.

Alright, change of plan. I'll send teamhalo the sword,( You can build one too, if you want) and I'll build the Blunderbuss tonight. It's basicly the pistol with a few modifications. I'd like this to be a fierce weapon. going off with a big shotgun-like blast, with massive recoil, and doing serious damage.

That hook will be sick as a hand to hand weapon. You Gotta love it!

I'm glad the project has inspied you my friend. It really is shaping up to be something great. In my opinion this will rival any of the sci-fi mega packs. The great thing about it, is that a bunch of this stuff can be used in other themed games as well, set in the period, and opening up a whole new avenue for levels that we didn't have before.

I think these are the first flintlock weapons ever made for FPSC.

I'll find out if DJMaster want's to rig the blunderbuss to his hands as well. That way the two sets will have all the weapons, with both sets of hands. So you can choose which would fit your games the best.

OK then, Thanks guys! I'm back to work, I'll post some screens of the new characters in a day or so.

I thought of a blunder bus as a heavy weapon a few days ago, then clean forgot about it again, this is shaping up to be a super pack, cant wait to see what else comes out of it.

I press the link, it takes me to a picture of a jerk saying how he get himself ripped in 4 weeks, in the centre is a red button, press that, does the video start, no, it takes you to a random page for a product, tried it twice, poker and some morg, so mega video will of made some free advert money then from that then.

Right worked it out, dont press the red button, press the links on the bottom, the red button turns green, then press it, its a little con mega video must have going.

Looking at the hook, its a hook for if you lost a hand, Im not sure if it would be better to be as if the hand is inside it. Like these two images.

I know man, megavideo is such trash, I just really wanted the song to go with the vid, you tube copyright came in.

Im not sure what I will do, i might just leave it the way it is now because at first I tried doing it with the hand mesh inside but the clipping errors where really getting to me.

move the mesh, as in drag the verts around so the sides of the hand are smaller so that the hand doesnt clip through the hook mesh, unless you can look inside and see the smalled deformed hand hiding inside, and the effect is ruined, if you got it with the hand inside, Id keep the missing hand version as well though, then you have two versions.

Here's the sword. It's in .obj format with a .bmp texture. You can do what you want with it guys. change it any way you want. Or you can make a different one. It's real low-poly and can be used as scenery too.

I cut out the screenshot of the model in Milkshape, and pasted it on the background just to see what it would look like.

Since were going all out here, I decided to do the dead pirates a little less cartoonish. The first dead pirate will be changed as well.

Pirate Sword WIP
Nearly everything is complete, I'm still in my testing Phase.
I did quite a few edits to the texture, making the sword look more
realistic and grunge;I edited my universal normal map to go better with this weapon;a few minor mesh edits

Also included
I threw together a African reskin for the hands, Cosmic Prophet please
note that this reskin will work for the weapons I've done for you.
