MODERATORS: As I am told you don't like games, I promise only one nation game at a time. The old game is over and you may lock it if you like.
It is the peak of global confusion:
This nation forum game (I shortened it to NFG) is set in high middle ages, 1000AD. Here is a description of the time (I know it's a little off, but it is supposed to by the highest disunity of the middle ages of each era here.):
The unity known as the Roman and Han Chinese empires has come to a close and both regions have suffered from balkanization (breaking up of a nation. it is my favorite word.) With Europe taking the worst. The small states of Germany and north Italy are fighting amongst each other, but gain a small unity in the Holy Roman Empire, a loose collection of these states. Not all was chaos, though. The Islamic Sultanates were centers for religion, culture and sience.
Rules:
- You play as one nation. You may make up your own nation. Give a brief history of that nation.
- For a while, one day is five years, you may, however talk about what happened in your nation later in the day, as long as it doesn't change the outcome of a pre-handled battle.
- Wars are handled by a 3rd party.
- No unrealistic trade. eg. (I saw this on the old game.)
Nation 1.: We will trade a nuke for a bowl of spigetti
Nation 2: Ok.
do NOT do that.
- No extreme alterations of the earth. eg. Godzilla drinking all the oceans
- Technology will be handled differentially, it must be approved by others in the thread. Here are (pretty nice) guidelines:
No gunpowder until 1300 (Europe), 1200 (Middle East) and Asia can not invent guns until 1200. (They can still use grenades and other gunpowder weapons
No Steam power until 1800
No Electricity until 1900
Please, make it SOMEWHAT realistic.
- Points abolished. Military will now be based on population and weather your nation can support it. (an army's gotta eat!)
- Map and nation numbers go up friday. Game starts Monday.
- Have fun!!!
Until the game starts, you can talk about the rules and if they need a change.
Don't follow in my footsteps... I often walk into walls
