Why would you assume that the president holds those responsibilities, or any real responsibilities? Users only become moderators after being on the forums for a good amount of time, and the current moderators feel that the user has earned the right to be a moderator. If the president had those rights, any user could have moderator privileges without displaying any kind of reason for deserving them, besides winning an "election" and that would be a horrible idea. If you guys go back and read the last election (You know, the one that Matt linked to in the first post) you'd see that the election is just for fun, the president doesn't really hold any responsibilities. To all who are taking this 100% seriously, sorry, but you are kind of wasting your time.

Again, why? If you spend all of this time taking the whole thing seriously, for a little recognition, if you don't win the whole thing becomes a huge waste of time. I'm not saying that you shouldn't take it seriously at all, but you should still lighten up a little, and have fun with it.

I think the president could have a few responsibilities maybe just having fun with it but at the same time ensuring the forum runs smoothly and if they see a problem they could let one of the mods know. I think the president will serve more as a voice of the people than antyhing else. Power to the people!

I agree (well obviously, as it makes sense),
Moderators have the power to make their own descisions which they are accountable for, I think that the president should be enabled to perform similar actions to moderators, but the descisions influenced by the other forum users.

I hope what I'm saying makes sense, I need some sleep.

None of the above. When I was first made President I was given mod status, so I could do all of these things (probably anyway, not sure as I never used those powers). You aren't a mod though, as President.

Would you accept a president who is simply OKAY? We need leadership... an administration who is on top of anything and everyone on these forums!

Some candidates appear to be using scare tactics, mentioning "punishment" and "wrath" to anyone know dares defy them. I laugh at this. Do you want a representative who uses such destructive methods, preying on the weaknesses in our population? No. This will not be.

I am running as president campaighn. I will make sure there are NO lolcatz, NO loldogz and NO loitering. i shall also put in place litter bins on each forum corner. to make it more cleaner.

One of the biggest problems facing the internet today is Creepers. More commonly known as "trolls", they can cause endless mischief and confusion on online forums. A prime example being AutoBot's innocent campaign picture of delicious cake, changed by a skilled creeper into a threatening image designed to put a scar in our reputation. If we are elected, AutoBot and I promise to pour as much resources as we can into eliminating these pests. If you want a creeper-free internet, vote AutoNerd 2011.

You don't need the president badge either though, which is what part of my whole point on taking this too seriously is.

Also, I re-read my post a couple of posts up and I realized that I may have sounded like a jerk to Design Runner. I wasn't trying to sound like a jerk, my humour just seemed to have failed.
