@heyufool1: Thanks for the invite.

It's a lot different than i expected, but still good. I will use this instead of FB, but no one i know has it yet.

Well then, doesn't that totally defeat the purpose of a social network?

Yep, but Google opened up inviting, when it was relatively strict before, so it should start to grow fairly rapidly. I see this as a social network that is more geared toward developers and "techies" so to speak.

I personally like it much better than Facebook, but primarily because there is no stupid, "[Name Here] has answered a question about you! Click here to unlock answers!"

But eventually I'm sure Google will allow developers to make annoying things like this, then I'll be gone from Google+ too. I'm not really a fan of social networking, I never have been. I don't mind forums or chats, but I can't stand the idea of posting stupid duckface pictures and spamming people with annoying games.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

If they do get into allowing devs to make games on this thing, I hope they don't allow those games to post stupid crap to your friends. The less time spent filtering out useless crap, the better, IMO.

Facebook doesn't allow a game to post on your wall unless you give it explicit permission. At least that's how it is now.

I agree. I sent an invite to all my friends and they have tried it. All my programming friends appreciate it, especially the ones in that business I keep bringing up. We are all on it now and we have officially stopped Skyping. But my more social, non techie, friends seem to enjoy the games on Facebook, not to mention the fact they have everyone they know on Facebook.

I don't think I could give up Skype for a social networking messenger. Skype loads when my computer boots up, which is very handy since I'm metaphorically always on skype talking with somebody.

I'm still not sure about the whole thing. It feels like the new things Google+ offered are useless to me and now it just feels like a facebook with a new -- face. At least I don't have farmville spamming me on here.

Exactly, we talk on Skype like once a month, and we schedule it, so it's more convenient to do it on Google Plus so we can use the same Social Network to talk about the little things and, when the Hangout time comes around, the bigger things.

But now that Microsoft owns Skype, how much longer will it last?

If you get a purple pineapple you can toggle to never receive notifications from the offending game again. Done.

Me too! My FB account just got hacked or somesuch by the looks of it (automatically posted rude videos to everyone). Think I'll give G+ a go if someone wouldn't mind sending me an invite! Ta!

Cheers

Invited

By the way, The only reason I post when I invite someone is so the person doesn't keep getting invites

wow... me too

PS.
FB privacy ruined everything it was meant to fix... and ruined everything else... epic fail, I solely use FB to communicate with worldly friends, somewhat outside of the usual MSN and Skype (which for those not aware is now owned by Microsoft yay^^ -for a cool 8.4billion yes billion $ sick [correct figure if I got it wrong] ) and now after setting up my new company am giving a go at FB Pages if it fails me I will use my own internal Wordpress pages to keep customers engaged.
hands up if you want a free wordpress account to play about with to get familiar [ftp folder included].

Apologies for the bump!

So how has everyone liked it so far? Google's not done much else with it, most of their "updates" have been things about privacy policies and such official things as that. I like it, but it definitely still needs some work...the only thing they've added since releasing the beta is a games section. And as far as I can tell, it doesn't clutter up the feed with info on who's playing what, no annoying invites to play games, and that alone makes me very happy!

Me and my friends have had a great time with Google+. Some bugs and some things I would like them to add... but no huge complains. 8/10 after a month or two... certainly.

The thing I love most is I don't have anyone added that puts out annoying and utterly pointless status updates about their mundane lives every 5 seconds...

Bliss.

Well it kind of is. If there were annoying people on Google+ then I would leave that just like I left Facebook. Less customers for Google+ is bad - therefore Google+ benefits from not having annoying people!

My logic is flawless.

why do you add them in the first place? .___.' I only have real life friends and.. one or two whom are not real life friends

I could most likely add someone whom i have talked a lot to on the net aswell.. i dont go rampage and add everyone i see x)

I don't go rampage and add everyone I see either, in fact I positively despise people who do that. No, I have them added because they are part of my group of friends in real life, doesn't make them any less annoying though.

Anywho, the main reason I actually quit Facebook was simply because I never use it. Everyone I ever talk to I can either text or have on Steam. I will probably re-create my account when I head to Uni though.
