Ah I think you should make all the mods have the mech modles, that way they can blast away the spammers!

Yup, ~1,000 polies per avatar. Mnenomix asked me to do a concept for the interior and I finished a very low detail area and made an .exe so you can explore it. DBP triangluated the models and messed them up a little, but this is only a quick run of what things may look like.

Note: It's sloppy, done in two short hours, and needs work. (And the triangulation messed up my Fred along with scaling!)
http://curvedbasic.dbspot.com/Main.rar

Basically how the interior could be divided is like shown in the .exe. For now, I'll just keep modeling things.

Ahh Crap, guess DBP didn't compress the media. Ok, I've just included the whole folder with the media.

Should work now.

I'd like to see a static model that could be a used as a template for correct sizes. Numbers alone don't carry the same weight. I'd even go so far as to say it should be in DXF since 99% of the modellers out there can import that format. I like the animation timing spec although I might replace trout slapping with a generic taunt.

Yes, I tried quite a long time ago. I was doing it in VB, planning to use a DBP app for a front. I'm surprized nobody remembers it.

@zircher

We cannot provide that model, because(once again) we dont know what the requirements etc. of the media will be. In a week or so we may be a little nearer the requirements.

Why don't you try mixing time frames. like have a fururistic train, and a modern kinda café, or a medival castle for something(maybe a mods only place) next to a team request recruitment centrer that looks like an army surplus. Just an idea.

Hmmm...that idea does sound good actually. Although recruiting a team in 3D would be a pain in the ass. We are still trying to sort of the one's in 2D.

Nothing major. If you can run dbp and have a decent internet connection you should be all set.

Also, mod status on TGC forums has nothing to do with Mod and Admin status in this system

If there's a 3d team request board.....and special mod powers....you can beat the livin crap out of anybody who posts a bad request and leave them there, crying, degraded, bleeding.
Or there could be two:
Team Recruitment Center(password required, limited access)
MEGA MMO GAMES(or whatever it was called)HQ
It could just be a giant skysphere where big giant impossible and dumb ideas float around.
Imagine....you're flying around in there and all of the suddent this giant billboard is flying toward you. You run! Ahh!! It's coming closer! closer..closer, closer! Then WHAM! A big thing of text flashes across the screen saying, "You just got smacked by HALORPG".

Will do.

The cow is finished, but for some reason Lithunwrap doesn't import animated data. So I still went made the UV, tried to then import the model back into Truespace and re-apply the skeleton. After trying numerous formats, it still didn't work.

Don't worry though CR, I'll get it fixed in due time.

An update from me is I've got a rock solid collision system working using DBP's polygonal collision. Never had polygon collision work for me before, but for some reason it's working.

I'll also distribute a demo of AVT soon enough for the team to try. For you other folks, hold tight for a few funny pictures.

Hi @ all

I did something like a 3d chat some time ago and maybe someone remembers my pic that I posted of it. Maybe you would like to test my client. It's still just a testversion and it's been quite some time that I touched it but it works.

You can get it here:
http://www.colorarts-data.de/temp/pxw.zip

Run the launch.exe and enter your name.

Server runs on a small pc which is connected through DSL, so more then 20 clients would slow down I think. But it should be enough for testing. Currently there is just a small island there with a few trees and the only thing you can do is walk around and chat. Have fun with it ... the server will run the next 24h for testing ...

Life is good!
