-Yngwie Malmsteen (my favorite as you may have noticed)
-Michael Angelo Batio (
no doubt the most talented even possible)
-Joe Satriani (Cryin' is an amazing song, I can play most of it)
-Randy Rhodes
-Steve Vai (great skill, but I'm not into his music)
-Kirk Hammet
-James Hetfield (amazing riffs)
-Tom Hess (I only seen one video of him, but his technique was perfect)
-Michael Staertow (my guitar teacher)
Those are my favorites. Yngwie's concerto suite for the electric guitar dvd is amazing, as well as the G3 dvd. Also I actually went to one of Yngwie's shows, by far the coolest thing I've ever seen, he was about 3 feet away from me. I managed to get one of the picks he threw out into the crowd. He also threw his sweaty hand towel out into the crowd, but I didn't dive for that one like some people who were actually fighting over it!
Also, if you haven't ever heard of, or seen
Michael Angelo Batio you must. He:
-plays faster than Yngwie
-plays right-handed
-plays left-handed
-plays with a double-guitar (two whole guitars hooked together at the body)
-has an over-under trick, that is really freaky and amazing
-mixs neo-classical, rock, and jazz all together
-invented the double-guitar
-invented a handy little device that gets rid of all the unwanted buzzing (really good for tapping, I've never acutally tried it though just seen some videos)
anyways you get the idea...just to give you a little visual: (check this out)

EDIT:
I found some Tom Hess videos:

Also, I forgot to mention my guitar teacher:
http://www.michaelstaertow.com/ (low-bandwidth one sucks, it cuts out basically everything...use the high-bandwidth)
he's got some great songs, check out the samples. His Oxygen cd is worth the money by the way, great cd.
