Avid's great, and is definitely the Hollywood standard in terms of NLE's.

HOWEVER, it also designed by professionals FOR professionals - it takes a LOT of getting used to and some of it is rather complicated. They have whole websites dedicated to learning it because it's so complicated!

But I hear it's very worth it in the long run, and now they've lowered the price of the program so it's much, much more affordable for a wider range of people. Hopefully it works out for you, I'd love to hear about it!

Okay, I don't understand how you're supposed to solve this.

Which gives me the following equations:

But there are 3 unknowns and only 2 equations! How am I supposed to solve that?

I'm feeling increasingly stupid because this looks like a really easy question.

Well it turns out the problem is actually the common eigenvalue problem.

Without knowing that, it's possible to solve the equations anyway using the quadratic formula:

OR use the easier approach mentioned in the link, where the determinant of the matrix must be 0 for s to be a valid eigenvalue:

Here is how you solve, you bake yourself a fresh pie and then hit yourself with the pie until you think you have gotten it correctly.

I've not been around much and I think we have been due an election - I have mostly been in neglect here as I've had loads of other things to focus on.

If thou wouldst content my presidency...create the thread and it will show the community that you're proactive and should benefit you with a few votes and are able to show community spirit. If you contact a mod to make it an official thread, it'll show that you're an excellent communicator and willing to handle TGC authority on behalf of your membership and if you bring me tea, it shows that you're a respectable and honourable individual, not like those other would be politicians.

@Seppuku,

That's so weird, I literally just came to the forum and clicked on this topic to get your attention about how we're overdue for a re-election! I believe I've rode the great Seppuku's coattail long enough.

So I broke up with US Cellular and switched to T-Mobile - or rather, I will be switching tomorrow once I get the phone in the mail...

I ordered the HTC One M8. It has amazingly rave reviews and it looks like a GORGEOUS phone. I think I will love it!

Best of all, T-Mobile will help me save a LOT of money over the next few months - I will be saving almost exactly $30 every month after I make the switch (I'm currently paying $96+/month for US Cellular - with T-Mobile it will be $63.75/month (plus tax, so probably closer to about $70), and then once I pay the phone off it will drop to $40/month - how cool is that?!?!!?!?!?!

It really was a joke. That is why I put kidding down there to assure I was joking.

Why in the world would I harm someone over something that ridiculously hilariously stupid? I said something stupid that does not make sense whatsoever, it obviously would be a joke meant to be funny. I mean for one I'm not on the kindergarten level of foolish.

Guys I have morals and standards, I don't hurt people. No need to get the mods. It was a joke, you are fine.

I'm sorry if I sounded threatening and stupid, but come on? Really? Why would I hurt him? SeppukuArts is amazing. I am fine with him as president. I apologize for my unknown confusing actions. Believe me I was kidding. I have a really really dry sense of humor. I'm really sorry.

Indeed, this is how the current administration is manipulating the citizens. Brainwashing them! A lax mentality that the common forumite has been socially-engineered to to maintain! I will not allow this evil to go on so I have stepped up in the name of change!

Randomly browsing Steam store looking for inspiration of a new RPG to play and was pleased to come across this.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/268930/

Nice to see they finally managed to get it onto Steam and great to see it didn't take much browsing for me to find it either. Surprised they didn't make an announcement here, unless I missed it.

I was going to go to bed, but it has nearly finished downloading.

As a fellow Final Fantasy fan, may I recommend to you Shadow Hearts (It is NOT to be confused with Kingdom Hearts *shudders*). They're old, but really awesome games!
If you wanna really go retro, there's Seiken Dentsu III (didn't play the others). It's an old SNES (Super Famicom) game with some of the most beautiful pixel art ever. Also published by the Square (before the Enix, back when they were really making great stuff). Plays very similar to FF12.
Bahamut Lagoon (I think I suggested thus once to you before) was another Square game, semi like what I've seen of FF:Tactics. Plot is fairly linear but characters are quite fleshed out. Leveling system is interesting because you raise dragons and have to level them carefully with how you feed them. Gameplay combines turn-based strategy with ATB-style battles. Also SNES, also very pretty pixel art.

(My suggestions are all dated because there are just so many buried treasures there)

You can even play it on Android via PPSSPP (PSP emulator) using the PSP hack version of the Windows game

Cave Story is awesome. Played the original on PC. The difficulty is seriously weird though because I breezed through until the final part. That was insane. Liked the alternative endings, different story paths, weapons, etc. Apparently the dude took 5 years to make it (which gives me high expectations for a certain game that a certain person never works on except when I say they aren't working on it :p )

That said, it's more of an action game with RPG-elements than a full-blown RPG.

Had no idea it was released on PSP, too. I did hear about the NDS remake, though.
