Yes, if teaching nonsense based on religious brainwashing counts as a wonderful thing. I personally think it's disgusting and it makes the USA look like a joke.

Just for the record, I'm a staunch supporter of science and reason. I'm not trolling; it concerns me that the world's most powerful nation is trying to take itself back to a pre-scientific era.

I don't expect us to debate it (which I'm sure would be futile anyway since none of us are likely to change our views based on a TGC thread), I just wanted to put that link there for those that are interested. I don't necessarily agree with the quote, I just thought it was one of the harsher parts of the article and so would pique the interest of people more.

WHAT THE !@#$?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!!? pre-scientific??!?
You do know that a very large number of the most influential scientists ever were creationists right*?
For many of them, their very motives for studying science were because of creation.<<that's important

Now I've read through this page here: http://evolutionwiki.org/wiki/Many_famous_scientists_were_creationists, and what I'm saying has nothing to do with anything on this page (just so you don't misunderstand me)
Please don't bring anything on that page up

What I'm saying is that Creation is most certainly NOT pre-scientific! Creation and science went hand in hand for a few centuries. These prominent figures in science were driven by their belief in God and Creation.

Quote: "Just for the record, I'm a staunch supporter of science and reason"

Me too, and I do understand your position. Your position is just wrong, that's all
You see belief in God as unreasonable, after all, God has never been observed, and everything in the world can be explained naturally (nothing supernatural has ever been observed), so there is no logical reason to believe in God, right?
This is a logical position, but for reasons I'll not post here (AUP ), I do actually believe in God, and I am in fact a rational person

*Yes, I know it's creation.com, and yes I know that most atheists will ignore anything on it simply because it's creation.com, not because they ever refute the information given on the pages I link to. But I'm pretty sure that the actual data given on this page is undeniable, although you might not agree with much of what is said, that is not what I'm linking to. Just focus on the list of names

}else{

}

Sorry about this post You position as an atheist is (sort of) tenable, it's possible to be intelligent and atheist at the same time . But really? Calling Creation pre-scientific? This is simply wrong, I couldn't not reply

How many here are using Windows 8.1? or Windows Phone 8.1?

Considering whether anybody would like to also use the apps I created for the TGC Forum which I am also considering expanding to the TGC Website... [ All those links ]

I find navigating with it much faster as the navigation menu remains open and you can see [Depending on your screen size] all the options for the pages... [Right click / Screen swipe from top or bottom edge closes the menu] the mobile edition also has an always accessible navigation menu across the bottom in both landscape and portrait modes on the mobile edition, all orientations are possible, landscape, flipped, portrait...

I would like to see if anybody is interested in this before asking TGC for permission to launch it [As I do for every project related to TGC/TGC Products]

A few drawbacks include Me still being rubbish at C languages meaning it is the basic web viewer and some features like right click context menus are not implemented... nor is refresh ... highlighting text and copying that is still functional however... [As some of the comment box options use JavaScript? they fail to work as JavaScript is also not implemented, as too Flash is also not implemented, so basically a bothersome free browser ]

I only included navigation between boards, not threads, so you can return to a board to return to the thread you wish to refresh...

I just got tired of having all the extra rubbish associated with a browser while being on the forum, with my browser there is nothing BUT the forum in your view

And the catch, it is free! I see no point in charging for something that took over 24 hours to code... [And is likely to take even longer! all that repetition 'sigh']

I mean no point in charging for something that is just a shortcut to something that already works for free, I am not adding anything other than a reduction in time consumed with navigating through the forum, also this was born out of my frustration with the constant death of the RSS feeds...

I will make a video comparison soon maybe... maybe... meh...

Also Most links open into your browser, and umm there is no BACK button either... so you just have to return to the board for that thread to return...

Anyway it is mainly for catching up with what is new across the forum... you can always jump back to your browser to do more deeper things...

Pinch zoom still works

Anyway, London is damn hot right now...

No seriously, check this out: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1vvg7j/i_have_two_magnets_implanted_in_my_fingertips/

It gives you a "6th sense" - the ability to feel magnetic fields. Plus you can pick up magnetic objects with what looks like magic.

Wow, that's really cool. I wish there were some less permanent (and cheaper!) method of achieving the same sense. What I love is that the guy that did it already clearly knew exactly what he was doing and wasn't stupid.

Yep, I wanted to know what's under the hood. Like if I load image/2, there could be ways - use mipmap, discard odd/even lines, or else. Plus, how it will work if I want pixel perfect (you know that flag; it discards mipmapping) image for sprites.

It depends. There are reports of people going through MRI scans with their magnetic implants and they say the only thing that happened is the magnet vibrated a lot.

The idea that an implant will rip out of your body and fly through the air in presence of a powerful magnet is a myth. The fact is that it's a lot more complicated than that.

Yes i will Much easier to modify little details and i ran out of pensil and eracer. I think i need to make the tail shorter and the tail-shields are too close to the tail. shame i barley know how to use blender for now i am just really used to milkshape 3d for which i need windows and wine is useless in that regard. Out of 15 games and programs i tried to install using Wine, only 3 worked. Morrowind, daggerfall and Redneck rampage. I guess wine has a good thing for DOS but the fact that morrowind worked is a miracle!

That helicopter won't work, it would just spin out

The thing about wine is that most programs work in it but they require some work to run. Usually that work will be done in half an hour and after that the program runs fine. According to winehq.org, milkshape 3d works in wine if you download some extra dlls. There are instructions for almost any program you can think of on wine HQ and you can usualy find them by searching for "<program name> wine" on google.

Generally, older games are easier to run in wine than newer, the issues with most games get fixed after a while. The main issue with wine right now is that it doesn't support DirectX 10/11 and with the retirement of windows XP, most new games stop supporting DX9 which wine is pretty good at.

Ok people, we're going to count to 98+2, ie. I post One, the next person posts 2, the next, 3 etc.
Your post may contain any text you like except the digit[s] you are supposed to be posting
You have to use an alternate mathematical expression to express the digit. The cleverer the better.
For example:
When posting 7, 273/39 is NOT allowed (it contains the digit 7), √49 would be ok though

Let's start!

7-6

If the helicopter flew fast enough, the wings would probably create enough resistance for the helicopter to fly in large circles rather than spin out of control

I dont care if the helicopter wont fly in real life i am more of an artist than an engineer, i focused on it looking cool rather than flying.

ill just pretend it can fly for the sake of not discrediting the creative effort i put into this concept

I called 3 tattoo artists and they told me they've never heard of magnetic implants and have no idea where to find someone who could do that.

It's a shame the people who do the surgery for magnetic implants call themselves "body artists" as well - it makes them nearly impossible to find.

Im glad you got MS3D working. If something works or doesn't work on wine, Wine HQ will know Im guessing you are on linux, if so what distro?

Also, if the helicopter has something spinning the oposite way of the rotor internally, it could fly without the tail rotor (I think )

Well perhaps, but the simple fact is that a really powerful magnet will attract another magnet (or ferromagnetic substance) really strongly. It would be just plain stupid to go into an MRI knowing you had anything metal inside you.
