That would be great.
You need to make the grid bigger for the Map editor too.
And like 50 layers would be awesome.
I did that myself, but there is something dreadfully wrong when I did it.
It would take 20 minutes for it to start loading, then about an hour to load all the way with just one segment.

Do I really need directX10 june 2007 to run v 1.16?

I'm getting that error message when I try to open FPSC. I doubt this is a fenix mod problem but it may be, because this is V116 and the map editor source is included.

ok couple things

First one:
When i place a char and use body script it works, But it takes a few for the wasd animations to take affect befor it shows it as walking. So for a short while it shows sliding, Tested with a few other toon's might just be me.

Last thing: I was told to take out the arms i looked threw the dds texture files and can not see where to take them out.

Working well, Great Job! Have not tested Dark AI yet, But i will let you know. Frame rates only at 28-30 thoe had to adjust speed of char.

Righto, those zombie scripts make it a little less redicilous, but you should add a command that makes it run to melee range because they're trying to chop my head off from the other side of the room when I walk away from them... Then again they ARE braindead zombie things... so yeaaaaaah.

I've been playing around with the AI and it's quite nice, if you don't mind I've a couple of comments. I think that the AI's should run forward if they are over a certain distance away, they look a little as if they are wandering around lost at the moment.

Also, the allies are a little stupid, they tend to face towards you even when being shot in the back.

That said, I think that what you've achieved is an excellent start and I'm looking forward to the future for this mod. Great work.

Well I wasn't going to do all the work for you, you can script it so they'll work right. If you don't know how you'll have to wait till after the VBOTB when i release the scripts to all.

Hmm nobody else has had this issue please post your computer specs and also if frames continue to be low try closing fpsc opening the setup.ini and changing the hsrmode to =1

I can tell you right now that you don't need dx10, try reinstalling 1.16

Well Lee merged editor data from both x9 and x10 so I have a feeling a message from the x10 part is being incorrectly executed.

You can't, it's somewhere hidden deep within the source code.

And no, DirectX10 does NOT work on a DirectX9 computer or hardware.

nvm. I fixed it

DarkAI is lovely.

the enemies:

GOOD: take cover
shoot often
can be killed by ally
BAD: don't usually see you or your ally unless you shoot them
Often go for you more than the ally

the allies:

GOOD: take cover
usually don't miss
can kill enemies well
BAD: will not shoot enemies in favor of looking at you
takes a lot to get him to spot enemies
doesn't oftem move when long range or medium range fighting


needless to say, I loved it. a cool thing to do, because FPSC doesnt have flinch anims, is to give the ally low health, and lots of respawns. this makes it more realistic instead of him absorbing his weight in lead every time he and an enemy get up close and personal.

well it works quite well in my town level. except for one enemy who just wont shoot you unless you shoot him first.

I also like how the ally won't follow you in doors. that's helpful because I want my player to get ambushed and It'd be stupid if the ally was there to kill them instantly.

ya know, that AI error is just if you set up their scripts incorrectly.
I had it a few times and each time I realized it was because i forgot to give them the new darkai appear script.

Few spots ago there was mention about the ally being to far away from the enemy. Wondering if anyone had a workaround for this?

Dark Ai is fun, But the allys dont always see the enemy so they dont help half the time lol. As for changing hsrmode when i did that it drop me down to like 12 fps.

So i have been testing this mod further, And i ran into 2 things with just normal sized levels. I placed a few buildings plants etc. First one is when i hit the test game button it does it thing "Adding entities..." etc it cycles threw it again for a second time after "Saving and optimizing.." (there goes another feww minutes) Now keep in mind that was without lights.

As soon as i added lights it crashed (attached screen). This was only with 4 lights added. Also it is mapping all objects for lights?? just for the 4 lights it must of took 10 minutes. Tried stock and other mod no probs. Anyways just thought i would report what i found.

Yes it loads the building portals and forwards twice for me as well, even in stock 1.16

As it should, Lee put this in for (i believe) object culling, it builds somethings twice but no worries the duplicates are deleted before start of test game.

Try building the simple.fpm

Fenix Mod Suggestion:

scriptable camera and blur effects.

for the camera control, you could do things like bobbing side to side when walking, tilts on it's side when you die etc.

for the blur control, you could make it get more blured depending on how low health you have. (or of course motion blur )

i don't know how hard it would be, but then again you are managing to put Dark AI into FPSC.

hope this comes into consideration
