actually yeah, if it happened in a corridoor, you could play an identical rendered scene of the corridoor, and keep the first person perspective. That'd be mad. when the video finished, the story zone could trigger the weapon to spawn and you'd have it when the video finished.

I'm thinking of going with that are the maxpayneish 'moving' comicbookstyle made with shots taken from the game (not a drawn look but acctual shots) with voice overs.
well I got ancy and started on the media for the first level "The Necropolis" and I am pretty satisfied with how it's coming out. I'm pushing hard to get some really nice texturework going and not the semi cartoonish, lower quality work I did in the demo. Unfortunately I had to give up on the 'whole room as one model' deal, as it was a pain to place objects. I'm useing standard segments but allot are onesided still to save space. Almost done with principle archetecture of the level and I'm still rockin at a steady 27-33 fps. So all is looking well.

Ugh, I regret having to do this, but my vision of detail is too grand for a single stage, So I'll have to cut my stages up into mini levels. FPSC just can't handle the amount of segments I'm tossing at it. So this will help framerate and loading time vastly but I am afraid of filesize getting too big. Basicly each level will have to be divided up into 4, making chapter 1 a total of 17 mini levels instead of 5 huge levels(4 plus a bossfight). The one thing I don't want to do is raise system requirements. I want as broad an audience as possible. This method should allow me to chock it full of even more detail. I hope this wont be so huge I can't host it for free. if so I guess I'll be getting a service for hosting. Oh well I gotta take the good with the bad.

yes one of the main problems with fpsc is framerate what I would often do is have one large level at the beginning of the game with no enemies to show how pretty the game engine can be then make all the levels after that small and compacted but filled with enemies
anyway best of luck I'm sure you will make it work and don't forget your Return to En Boca project I really want to play that

It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as now i can defiinitely put more detail into the game without dropping below 32fps and finish small sections quicker giving me a sense of accomplishment. Emboca unfortunately has to start from scratch, but I still have the materials so it's cool. I kinda wanted to redesign the town anyway now that I know enemies don't like inclines. It won't be the town on a hill like I originally had it. A bit more flat and on the docks. But rest assured it will come out soon.

@small fish-I had 1 out of 4 maybe 5 stages complete before I lost the initial work and I did that stage rather quickly, so it won't take me long to get it going again, especially since I still have all the media. Grave has taken allot of time as well and after I finish the 4 parts of the 1st stage (1&1/2 already down) I plan on finishing emboca in it's entirety.

@Butter fingers- Thanks man, I may take you up on that at least just untill I can get something permanant or up my own hosting to the point of handleing it.

Fuzz, that's really cool of you. I'd say though, that if you want D13 to consider your character design, you'll need more than a picture. D's been working on this for a very long time, and has a pretty intricate back story, with good reasons and descriptions for why each of his monsters exists. You'll need to read his story, then not only draw your character, but provide a good back story for it, as well as how it moves, how it attacks, it's weaknesses, it's attitude and so on.

I know when disturbing sends me stuff to animate, he gives a really good description of how he wants the character to behave. This kind of thing is essential to a team project, as it means everyone can be creative, but shares a similar vision of how the end product should look.

@fuzz- Thanks for your support man. Don't be suprised if you see something similar to it or at least aspects of it in Grave. But yeah Butterfingers is right I have an immense amount of background behind each and every enemy. This projects has been accumulateing for 10 years, ever since I got into game creation. But great work and much appreciated!

@Deathead- It seem so, Can't wait to finish the game now to see if it gets a following. that would be my dream.

@Butter fingers- Thanks for the assist bud. I take it you read the story up to now as well as the description of the flamer I sent eh? I hope it helps with the buttkicking ai you've been providing.

I may use it, that's why I said don't be suprised if you see it or something like it in Grave Danger. As for the story, it will all be revealed when the game is released.

Well I just purchased FPSC X10 so there will definitely be 2 versions of this game. X10 version will come out a bit later than the XP version. But I am completely impressed with all i see in X10 so there's no way I can't do a version in it. LOL I don't even have a vista comp yet but I bought it and will pre dev everything. There may be a shaders version of the XP one as well with the option to turn shaders off and on. Just a bit of an update.

Mods please lock this thread as this project will continue with development elsewhere. Let it be known I have no negative views of TGC and its products.

This is something I feel I must do. GraveDanger will still continue being developed in FPSC, just not here. I can't sit here and just take it when freebie grabbers support an internet terrorist just because they want more free crap even after it's been made plain as day to them. If this is the ilk of people on this forum , then I've been helping the wrong people. please keep in touch buddy as your input is vital for Grave Danger development.

Head to IGD.N like Duplex suggested. It's more of a smaller community, but you don't get the drama that we've seen today. (http://www.indiegamedev.net)

Butters is right , that is just what the want ! They want to take your place in here.
But i got your point , I'm also disappointed about the " looters " around here. This stop me creating free stuff for people...

I'm coming with ya brother.
