Quote: "I hope this gets made into a MP, would you accept the offer if you had the chance?"

well, I've already taken pre-orders, so I don't think TGC would take it on. But if they did offer I would be only too happy to say "yup"

Quote: "Right, that's me convinced. Money will be sent to you on Friday.
Edit: Actually, I've sent it now"

Recieved! THankyou

Quote: "Everytime Butter releases something, my PayPal account is crying for help ^^
Nice job, man, you deserved my money... "

Recieved, and thank you too!

I've been playing with this for the last 4 hours, and now have it working propperly (there are some issues deleting it in the editor if you place it wrongly, but I can fix that)

so, question, who loved that bit in matrix one where they destroy that lobby?
Well now you can do it with the ButterCutter pillars!

The pack will include a variety of them, including marble, concrete and stone, and some will feature internal structures behind the destroyable sections (not shown in vid).

Quote: "I would love to have these destroyable walls for as many segments as your willing to do so yes sci-fi and WWII would be great!"

As I pointed out to Nickydude, the destroyable walls can be re-textured to anything by right clicking on them and changing their texture to the same as the wall they are in.
And yes, scripted events rock with these (like putting exploding barrels to spawn behind them, so they blow up and make it look like the wall is exploding!

On the outset, in all honesty, no (not unless they have a rocket launcher).

The walls are placed as segments, but due to their animation, they are entities. Entities cannot target each other, or damage each other, so no they cannot be shot out by enemies. This is not something that I chose not to include, it is a limitation of FPSC itself.

Quote: "The pillars are looking great!, are they segments or entitys?

I think I answered the first question above, and thankyou.
The Hecate guys didn't really turn out in the way that I visualised them, and there is a little glitch in their shooting anim, where they clip the gun upward. I guess it's a success in that I got a new biped into FPSC (the bullet chain is animated separately).

I don't really understand (translator problem). If you mean:
"are these going to be in a TGC model pack?", the answer is probably not.
If that is not what you meant, then try writing in French, I'm pretty fluent!

Tanya, I got your order, it's filed away with all the other pre-orders, and you'll get it by (everyone pay attention now)
11pm GMT.

Basically giving all customers the weekend to play with it, and break it, or make the batteries run out (kidding)
Quote: "

I appreciate it, but I'm testing every single one of the 100+ components for bugs, and trying to get rid of the deletion bug on pillars (lots of error messages). So, it may very well bwe quite a stressful day. Just so you know, everything that was in the advert works just fine! The only things I'm testing are the new additions, that I've built based on peoples suggestions in this thread.

Tomorrow I'll polish of the manual and edit the tutorials and it'll be out!

OK.

Here is a final video, showing the new destructable stuff (and the stuff you've already seen)

I've polished up some of the textures, exp those that make up the interior parts of walls.

with the destructable wall segments, you can pretty much make your entire map destructible! Which is of course alot of fun...

Only butter fingers could have come up with a secondary feature this good and re gain control of the thread. If he were a boss his strength would be implementation. Weakness, unknown.

In addition to upgrading the existing pack he's added another entire feature.

Payment on it's way.

sorry to anoyone who only clicks last page. there is a new youtube video showing the old features, and the new (finalised) destroyable stuff.

Nomad soul
Thanks alot man. I take that as a huge compliment. I believe that the person who teaches you most, is the person with the harshes criticism. SO I listened to FallenOne and took some of the things on board. Although I beleived that pack was fairly priced before, I think that now, with the destructible stuff, it's definately worth the asking price!

Thanks

CRAM
what will that involve from my end? I'm affraid I can't give out my bank details in any way, so how does the wire transfer work? I'd love to help you out.

EDIT! in response to
Quote: "will you make an X10 version too for us X10 customers?"

I think that as long as X10 retains the same segment system, it will work fine. Please don't quote me on that though, as it is untested. I will of course be making an X10 version when it is released.

Ever thought of doing flat sheets/decals that change when shot at. perhaps it gives the effect of shooting tiles off walls or adding massive cracks up the walls.

fallenone.

they're both good suggestions;
you cannot change an object's texture using FPI scripts. You could do breaking tiles by creating a wall of individual tiles attached to separate bones I guess.
Decals wouldn't really be suitable, because they would have to be scripted to stop playing when the wall was destroyed (otherwise they would float in midair), I mean, technically they are possible, but it wasn't a technique I wanted to use.

The cracks decal effect-
How about shoot a wall and its current flat sheet alpha image that is empty, just swaps it for one that's got cracks on it, I don't know the ins and outs of fpsc yet, just moving into it now for my first game, so some ideas may be off, not knowing its limits, animating textures seems to cause problems due to starting and stopping a looping decal, I don't think there is a texture swap function? shame if not, as that's handy for facial animations instead of rigging a face for mouth animations, I guess you could do spawn item here, would have to destroy last item and spawn new one in the script, so hit section once shows cracks texture, shoot it again and it destroys that tex ( by tex I mean cracks on flat sheet with alpha/transparency) and spawns another, and so on, getting more cracked as its hit, could look pretty cool.

Its not an effect I've seen before, apart from that new UE3 John Woo game. It could look pretty good, when one shoots we normally get decals showing the hit, they look OK, but its not as satisfying as seeing walls get more and more cracked up, that's would be really cool.

I love those pillars in the vid, its like the matrix, having a pillar fall in half would be awesome, perhaps seeing the metal posts sticking out at the top and the top section of the pillar on the floor, Im not sure if these breaking parts you did are animated or they use some rag doll, as if it was the later it would make it interesting where the pillars landed. It would be pretty awesome having explosions in rooms and having great massive chunks of pillars crashing down, I don't mean parts of pillar, I mean it snapping in half and the other section landing on the floor while the other half is still standing, that would be very cool.

Because he is making it better, making it the best it can be. The new additions to it made it a lot better, didn't they, that's not a question. You want it to be the best it can be, don't you? That is a question. A rhetorical one, it doesn't require an answer.

Thanks KeithC, my comments have been constructive I hope, they are not to flame something for no reason, I genuinely want this product to be the best it can be, make it definitive and it stays that way for a long time, if not permanently, and as we have seen Butters has added to the pack and made it a whole lot better, adding features it didn't have, so yes he wanted to raise it to the next level, I always think if you have put the work in, it makes sense to just add the little bit more at the end and make it perfect.

The last of my suggestions I should imagine-

Having holes in the floor and ceiling would be great also, imagine a room full of mobsters, too many to shoot it out with, is there another way, yes a generator is on the next floor up, shoot the floor out and see the generator will plummet through the floor and hit the floor below and blow up. I remember playing Max Payne 1 and shooting some generator and having it blow a big hole in the floor killing who was under it below and allowing me jump down to the next level, it was pretty cool, would be great to be able to do it in fpsc, possibilities are endless with what you could do with being able to have floors with holes, imagine creeping along and then falling though the floor into a cellar full of zombies, too cool not to have, who wouldnt want to be able to have floors collapse.

Also when I said about having flat planes that would change when shot, image one on the ceiling, shoot the ceiling, cracks appear, puffs of smoke from the plaster (decal), and tiny bits of debris fall down, debris would just be small flat sheets with an alpha image tiny rock on it, but a few of them, would be a great effect.

Also we could add these sheets to items, say if we shoot glass, in fpsc it smashes and falls out, how about having it have a strength and cracking up first then smashing, well how about putting a plane in front of it, shoot it once, window isn't hit as the plane is, so its shot once , so cracks on the plane tool, shoot again cracks, shoot third time bullet passes through it and hits the glass and of course it shatters. Planes could have a strength, hit points etc, before bullet passes right through it when its destroyed, hitting what is behind it. Would be great for shooting up glass windows and having cracks all over them and then finally smashing. Could even have it on metal doors, steal the cannon and blow up the bosses big metal door, having big dents appear in it before it smashes, then enter his lair to the big showdown, endless possibilities with it.

Also is it just me or is Paypals web online purchace thing down, and its been down from the 3rd, like when you try and buy stuff that uses paypals online shopping cart you get a notice saying the website has problems. So as Butters uses paypal, you may have to wait a little longer for it perhaps.
