Hmmm reminds me of a recent thread that popped up here

Quote: "Kangaroo2"

*shiver* Please let's never speak of that name here again.

Quote: "Actually, Kevin is probably the most skilled person here. He would definately be near the top of my "Best Coders" list."

Agreed 100%. Kevin is most talented and most humble.

And then there was Neophyte--- I would argue with him on religion for days before we had the stricter AUP. Good times.

And Mouse T (IanT)--- haven't seen him around. He was pretty smart.

Drumnology and CMC 101 --- two most annoying gits to walk these forums. Infamously famous.

Empty and Hyrichter --- for creating the best IDEs for PB and DBP

Jimmy --- for being the only one to make me LOL at the forums

Richard Davey --- for helping me try to remember my childhood Atari ST games over MSN, and for modding me back in '04

No offense if I left anyone out. It's 1am and I'm sick

aye, he posted about it on coders turf (the now almost dead coders turf, because TGC kidnapped Josh).

LOL!
Also I'll just say again, that Supermonkey guy was so cool, I remembr one time he almost contributed something man I was excited that day! (If anyone wishes to just play along I'll happily accept it)

Oh and plystire, I remember you! Although I didn't know you still posted around here, maybe thats because my browsing is confined to geek culture.

Hmmm, either that was a typo or I'm the only one who remembers that it was "The MASKED Coder" that wrote the car physics demos and whatnot (Kevin Murphy, I believe his name was)... still got HIM on my MSN buddies, too!

@Plystire: Yeah, it was indeed the Masked Coder

Imho this thread is just turning into a "hey I exist, why aren't I on the list thread", kinda sad really

Can't help noticing that nobody has mentioned me at all. But I don't mind - threads like this are just navel gazing anyway.

people might, if they knew who you were

Personally, if i was going to widdle the list i could write to a reasonable size; it'd have three names names on it.

Simple, Dr. Avalance and Melligan

Avalanche cause frankly when he tried to rip-off 3D Studio Max r3 and claim he made it in DBv1; was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen. Was a shame given when he finally did start creating things worth while, people just didn't want to know. Guess it'll teach him mind.

Simple, well do a quick search for his last posts on here. One of the most bizare endings really to one of the longest run flamewars we've ever had.

An Melligan (not sure if the spelling is right.. was a long time ago ) is the famous user behind "A book!? book iz stoopid!" post heh .. He actually ended up becoming a valued member of the community in the end too. Quite ironic.

Thought he did that decent marble maddness clone back in 2000? Was the best thing I'd seen on DB at the time.

Well I'm pretty positive he did that marble madness type demo in 2000 as it was the first post I made here asking how to make a ball roll in DB (not so easy back then) and he answered (with I've always assumed slightly incorrect code to make me work for it) it for me. Second question I ever asked was a couple of months ago Nice gap.

Cheers

huh, guess you must browse this entire forum with your eyes closed since you've been on it then.

Quote: "I think that was taken off the TGC server, The thread was archived in another server."

It was never on this server, it was made back in 2001-ish on the original forums which are still archived on waybackmachine. Although quite difficult to search as parts are not there and the php system doesn't work so well.

Quote: "I'm annoyed that I'm only mentioned once... "

Difficult for most to remember you, given you changed your nick every month or so. Probably doesn't help you're not really around here much anymore either.

You're whole turn to the apple-side and all

Aye, although the source he released never worked properly.
It's quite hard to remember the good stuff he ended up doing given how jaded we were when he first came here.

Still remember the first game I released on the forums though
Wish I could find it, some might remember it though; did it for that competition in PC Gamer just after the forums went up.

Wasn't complex really, just a one/two player game where you tried to bounce your opponent off of the arena (which was a plane heh)
Red Tank vs Blue Tank.. think it was called Bouncy Tanks or something unimaginative.

Might be fun to remake it as an upto 4 player multiplayer game with a couple of power-ups

Quote: "I can't find a thread by Simple. Searching didn't really help as you can imagine!"

I'll dig one out later for you, there was some serious resentment between myself and him ^_^ .. always amuses me that what started off the whole fight between us was me accusing him of nicking an enemy mesh from Half-Life, only later to discover (thanks to Psionic) that he had been stealing others artwork for years.
