that wouldn't allow for the AI I use in the epic battles between allies and enemies.

hey guys, just an update because I'm proud. I've finished the script for the levels I have finished, and the other 5 will be done when I make them. If I work quick, each should only take about 2 weeks, but one's half done, so I'm going to assume that it'll be 2 months before they're completely ironed out.

I've also written out the opening and ending cutscenes, so whenever ZAY WILL GET ON SKYPE , we can talk animation. g'night guys.

I'll be able to actually start working on the levels in this game next monday. I'm sorta lacking inspiration for level 8, and I have a feeling level 9 will be nearly impossible, because stock media doesn't like me, but I'm sure I'll make something of it. level 6, 2, and 7 will come easy though, except for all the media I need for 7.

just saying guys. screens coming. real soon. hell, for making you wait so long, I'll make another video.

If you e-mail a list of the stuff you need, I will see what I can do when I get a spare moment Bugsy.

Also have you thought about going underground for a level?? maybe end a level with a cellar entrance then into the sewers or something?

Level 2 is a sewer level
Level 3 is the sewer underground offices and subway entrance
Level 4 is the subway.

I have 3 underground levels! I hope you'll love them.

also nice job on the london pack. It'll be the next one I buy.

He he you can tell I never started reading from page 1

Maybe a flooded level? with buildings and stuff on stilts, or floating platforms where earthquakes have broken stuff up and left it mostly under water?

that would be a good Idea, in fact, I'll make the sewer flooded, and put platforming sections where you have to jump on floating things to avoid drowning in the water!

THANKS NBT, YOU'VE INSPIRED ME MORE THAN A WEEK OF LOOKING AT BLUEPRINTS!

this section would not only reinforce the "jump" mechanic of the game, which will be used quite often, but also to mix up gameplay other than keyfinding, lifting, and shooting. I had been thinking of a part where there's a small pipe to go through at the bottom of a room, and jumping down to it would kill you, so you have to fill the room with water and swim to it. sadly FPSC can't do that, so I'll keep the jumpy parts.

Can you not adjust the gravity and adjust the players speed via scripting, so the player feels like they are in water??

I could, but they wouldn't be able to simply look upward and press foreward to swim, like I want them to be able to. that would also require me to trigger trigger zones, which cannot be done I don't think.

I'm still using your Idea though NBT. flooded platformimg to break up the shooty gameplay.

Luckily, I've been able to get two of Bugsy's insane scripting requests done
Unfortunately, the 50-ft pipe idea will not make the final cut.

And to whom it may concern: I'm officially the unofficial official scripter for WWC. I think.

stopping on the middle floor?

but that's solved with raycasting. now we need remote control and going up or down depending on what floor the player enters it at.

Hey Bugsy!

http://fps-media.mk-tek.com/downloads/scripts/xplosys/manual_lift.zip

I think this is what you want. You can make a lift go up or down with Pg Up and Pg Down.

You could make a trigger zone in the bottom segment of the lift chamber which disables lift movement?

don't be such a party pooper NBT, only like 50%

and since no one seems to ever want to post on this thread WITHOUT my encouragement, I figure I keep it going. also, I'm pretty sure it's one of the longest running.

so I was wondering if you'd still work on those models?

EDIT.

I counted 218 of my posts. that's not even 50 %

Yeah I'm gonna work on the models, just having a hard time getting my head around what you actually want is all. Never easy to make stuff without really knowing the map they will appear in I guess, but I will muddle my way through

it's been awhile, and it's really about time I posted these. I'm about done with level 2.

SCREEN 1
this is where you spawn. a maintenance room with a water tank that's currently being worked on.

SCREEN 2
this is the power room, the device in here controls power to all of the lights in the sewer facility, as well as the elevator.

SCREEN 3
this is a store room, quickly turned into a break room by sewer workers. it is very cold, so an enemy is warming himself up with a
barrel of trash set ablaze

SCREEN 4
another view of the same room. I picked up a gun the enemy had left laying around

screen 5
a large store room that features a puzzling challenge. this room is in use now, but not done being renovated. there is only 1 light installed.

Nothing short of fantastic. The only small note I see, is that in the first pic, the pieces of sheetmetal that lead to the vent seem to be floating in mid air. Put a box or something under it so it looks like it's being held up. Otherwise, spectacular!

You got that lighting nailed man! Definetly one of the top few titles being showcased on this board!

AAA Indie title, definetly worth the year and a half wait!
You and this project have majorly came along way, keep it up Bugsy you deserve all the credit you get for this project.

The greatest part of this project has to be the dedication you have shown and the ammount of effort you have put into this title. I really cannot wait to play this game when it is finially released.

.... Kicks ass man

Best,
Quay

hey sorry nBt, life blew into me and rocked me like a hurricane. I made .fpe files for all the objects, and I'll be making the map that uses them after I make level 6, which is tough to keep optimized being a big city. I'd love for you to be a tester when I get the first beta builds out. alphas are only for people who've never used FPSC.

I've never used FPSC, it's always been my evil twin brother from switzerland. He's kinda weird but has a good taste in battenburg cake and he has a rather crude sense of humour. So I surely deserve an alpha?

no, bootlicker, I'm still using v1.16 so that's the problem.

v1.17 is where the fun begins, I want to update, but I have a feeling that the new darkAI will end up needing a lot more doctoring than the old AI, in that I'll need to reweite their scripts, and tell them to go to points just to get them out of the spawn point.

post number 500!!!!

I do too, but I use fenix mod, and I was also worried that v117 would basically do nothing but raise the cap to 60, making the FPS rate change drastically from 38 to 60.

I'd also like to take this time to announce that there will be only ONE MORE video of WWC until it's release. it will be a level playthrough, and I'd like to give you all the chance to vote on which level you'd like it to be!

simply post saying which one, and I'll tally the votes up.

level 1
level 2
level 3
level 4
level 5 is already up and not available
level 6
level 7
level 8
level 9
