Shame! Shame! I NEVER said I'd never finish it! It is still going strong after 8 months of work. It WILL be released (whenever that may be, I dont like to make false dates and never meet them as seems to be with FPSC games.) and it WILL BE FREE!!! If it's free, and even one person plays my game, and then goes out and buys the actual BC2, I will be very pleased. Its a fan game, and my overall goal is to a) Promote BC2 b)Prove FPSC can be used to make large outdoor enviornments and c)Start a new genre of FPSC, whether that be remakes, large scale games, or anything else original. Think of my game as motivation, as that's how I saw BC2.

@DarkJames

If you read the whole sentence, the context is:

Quote: "Before anyone goes crying foul play is at hand; this is just another joke game that will die in a few months; or I'm infringing copyrights, ease off."

By this I meant, "Before people go crying that this is a joke game that will die off in a few months, or that I'm infringing" bla bla bla. I was responding to counter arguments people may pose against my game. I have clarified that this is NOT A JOKE! IT IS LEGIT, IN THE WORKS, and SHALL BE FINISHED! Anyway, thanks for your insight, as I added a bit more clarification to the introduction paragraph you were referring to. Back to English class for me, eh?

The last thing Susysyay needs is negative feedback, taking his words out of context, and generally trying to find ways to bring this project down.
If you've got nothing good to add, move along.

In the interest of lowering poly count, some cut backs did have to be made on foliage, but I assure you this is still one of the most vivid games with FPSC ever made!

Being an avid gamer myself I am always excited when a developer releases screens or vids of their work in progress masterpiece, so I aim to satisfy the forums too! Again, here are some rough WIP screenies of "Heart of Darkness - The Lumber Yard." The previous Operation Aurora a few posts earlier is now done and you should expect some pics of that soon. Here ya are!

These pictures are about 2 hours of actual editor work, and 2-3 hours of paper planning with a friend or 2 of mine who play BC2. I use them as sort of outside reference as to things that I should change and/or keep as close to the actual game as possible. C&C welcome as always, just keep it clean!

40 is not low

When it goes below 20-25 you start to notice the game being slow

Yes, I am using model pack 53 (one of the better model packs recently.) I haven't had time to work on my game the past week or so, but I'm starting to pick up the slack again. New screens or gameplay vids soon

@2Beastmode4u

Lag is really the hardest thing to combat. Usually I hide lots of unseen things, try to find lower poly objects, clever spawning of AI, and such. There are loads of things I omitted that most people wouldnt normally that are out of the player's view. Plus, I dont use segments for doors or windows. I use the flat 2D entities which also saves on the poly count.

Hey this is looking great! I can't wait, but it is a shame you can't do the destruction system the same in the actual bc2. But none the less really well put together! But one thing, multiplayer would be really good to look into, and please work on that as well. (really would like rush to be in multiplayer as well!)

Keep on going! Push through!

Atacama could be pretty doable, any terrain you'd have to make could be low so there would be fewer collision problems and stuff.
Btw all the rest looks cool.

Well I have some good news and bad news. Bad news first-The following pics aren't from the new WIP levels (and I mean, the new WIP levels are phenominal!) but theyll have to wait. The good news is that you get to see Operation Aurora's Ending, the Sub Pen in its Alpha/Beta stages here. Comment and crits welcome. Video of this level soon (its probably one of the most tight levels Ive made for this game.)

imageflock.com/img/1307575978.jpg[/img]

imageflock.com/img/1307576052.jpg[/img]
imageflock.com/img/1307576045.jpg[/img]

The 1st pen is mostly done, with the majority of AI and details in place, but the 2nd smaller pen is still in need of desperate detailing. IF youve played BC2, let me know how authentic you feel it is so far. Remeber, this is WIP and can very much so change.

Hey all,
Just here to keep the thread fresh, and to let you guys know that school is over and Ive finally started to resume work on brand new levels as well as fine tuning earlier levels. This game was entered in the I Cant Believe its FPSC contest, so look for it in July's newsletter, as that's when they announce winners and such. Fingers crossed and new pics coming soon.

Even though this won't compare to the real BF:BC2 this will still be an amazing FPSC game, and the fact that you're making the whole thing is amazing (if you do finish it, not that i doubt you). so good luck and great work

New Images from a revamped level, the ending of Heart of Darkness (mission 3 in BC2.) Here we have close quaters building-to-building action and a helicopter fly over. Nothing super special with this level, but it looks really nice (atleast I think so.) Im hoping it looks as vivid to you as it does to me.

Oh, well I love how everything fits in this game! I'm just wondering that for the ground in the game, are those entities or segments? Also, for the doors, how did you make the 2D doors fit into the doorways?

I use static buildings with scenery doors to add detail, and I use the 2D scenery doors on segment based buildings that arent player accessible

Good for you, but instead of making a remake, you could base it on MW2 and make your own version.
