Hehee ^_^ the links are cool...
I crashed and burnt last nite, badly; like fell asleep as soon as i got off IRC and been asleep until like now (almost 14hrs)

Note I have mentioned (after i noted my connection problems) that this is extended to E3 Week. And screens will trickle out over the next week from me, but more importantly are what others are contributing.

Also i've found out why I have the connection problems, bloody [0_o] was right; I have some virus called W32.Netsky.P!mm on my machine ... Norton is currently going over the HDD, only just started it.
I'll see about freeing up the netspace, and doing a virus check on each of the screenshots; I know it isn't likely to infect anyone through a jpg but i don't want to get the blame for spreading this. Just about to check my entire uploaded site for this very virus, and anyone who's had anything off me in the past week; like Final Epsilon, please check your drive too.

Big apologies if i've infected anyone. What the virus does incase anyone isn't aware is in directories you use alot it bloats it with 10MB of fake files and also takes up 90% of your bandwidth doing nothing. Trying to determine if it has some sorta Trojan in it or not. We are looking at the better part of today just to scann this system though:

Deskstar 250GB + Maxtor 120GB + Seagate 80GB ... so yeah this isn't going to be a few minute thing. This started about 4 days ago when i put these drives on, so likely hood is one of them has been infected for months but i just didn't know it.

Well anyways once everything comes if fixxed i'm doing a backup and full re-installation, so I probably won't be back on until Sunday.
Only 2/3 days late rather than 6months like Valve, i don't think that's too bad ^_^

...

For everyone who has submitted something, some very cool projects I can see in the works. Looks like the community has alot to look forward too
Keep it up guys!

I believe netsky is a some sort of mass spam emailer, so you were most likely sending out loads and loads of chinese porno. Atleast, that's what happened when we got it at work

Quarantine*

ZING

Aaaanyway, someone of your knowledge should know that you can't spread a virus with JPGs.. REAL ones anyway. If that were the case, there'd be more more viruses than you can imagine being spread across the internet. So yeah, go ahead and upload your screenies it'll be ok

The files being created to bloat are Win32 executables posing as Jpeg, this could happen with the screenshots and i'm not willing to risk other peoples systems until I know there is Zero chance of contamination.

2nd Partition down, another 3 Virus found

Adware.Gator
W32.Cydoor
IRX.Tickler

only 2 more drives to go... and i have to get rid of these files by hand as i can't simply delete. So far it looks like my MBR/FATs are clean though.

And how do they convince the windows loader to execute them?

IRX.Tickler"

Never heard of them

That's not exactly a virus.

Odd, isn't it? Whenever Raven announces to show/release stuff (what happened to all the TPCs by the way?), something terrible happens to his system. I sense an international, digital conspiracy...

I agree with Raven + o_0, I've never said this before in my whole life but...

Empty - STFU.

I only get dialers, and thats only if I deactivate IE's popup system and forget to re-activate it.

A quick scan when I remember soon gets rid of it... Recently got Trend's AV/Firewall system to cut down on scanning time and memory usual. A full 3 drive scan now only takes half an hour, instead of two hours...

Raven, I think you need to get a better AV program - and XP SP2 RC1 if I were you... And if you've got a 64-bit processor, remember to either de-active DEP or assign programs to it...

Fortunately dialers (with broadband) are mostly harmless...

Yeah i think your right TCA. I'm using Norton AV 2004 Standard, doesn't really seem to be stopping as much as it's predecessors.

I've not updated to SP2 yet, can you give me a link?
As it doesn't appear to be in the Windows Update area yet.

The link for SP2 is http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/sp2preview.mspx. Its still in the RC stage (although it's very stable) - rumour has it it may be released at the end of next month...
Be warned : Its a 200+Mb download! Oh, and it might muck around with NAV - I had to uninstall mine and go back to 2003 (because 2004 wouldn't install again)...

And whats happened to your sig? I miss Garfield...

no one has stolen my code though hehee

I only just woke a few hours ago cause i was up all night sorting out SP2 (which crashed at 273MB / 275MB ... i was NOT happy ); but at the very least i've got a clean system up and running.

Now what i've got to do today is create a new area to showcase. Reason being is i simply cleared one HDD and clean installed everything - so this machine has nothing.
Have hand copyied across the source, but recreating the levels is going to be hard... So i'm working on 2 area's just to show off the engines Parallax Mapping, Defered Lighting, Clamp-Definition Colour Range and Depth Shadows.

I'll go into more depth tommorrow once this is all done.

@Chris Knott

"Is this written in DBPro?"

I doubt it. If what he says is true, and his engine will contain deferred shading, then no it isn't. Unless of course there is some secret method of creating multiple render targets in DBPro.

Hey everyone,

I was working on WordTrix 2.0 a little more today and I thought I'd take some screenies. WordTrix 2.0 has obvious improvements over WordTris 1.0, including weighted letters, the official Scrabble dictionary wordlist, and multiplayer capabilities.

This has been a great learning tool for me as I'm using it to educate myself on how to write a Direct3D game using C++.

This screen shows the one-player game:

EDIT: You may also notice the "found words" list on the left has some indents. Anyone figure out what those words represent besides major point bonuses?

This screen shows the two-player game:

Two people can play against each other from the same keyboard or from over the Internet. There are lots of cool features within the multiplayer game that I haven't seen in traditional two-player modes of other similar games (Tetris, Columns, Super Puzzle Fighter, etc.) including the ability to directly affect the other's playing field in new ways. I don't want to give too much away

Please note that this game is about 60% completed so the visuals may change quite a bit.

It won't i've just been sorting some things out today.
Still hope to see more of everyone elses' creations rather than just have people hyped (or skeptical) about my work.

Right now i'm building the website, my brother is polishing off some better AI cause again he told me mine sucked; So we can't do a trailer until he is finished really. Although I still think i'm keeping the bit where the dog runs into the door cause it cracked me up ^_^

After working with the X-Box all day i wanna just relax to be honest, so once the websites majors are done i'm gonna chill and probably get and early night.
