6 pages!!!
Not too bad. Still my main problem is texturing and modelling. Mainly texturing.
I'll have some new screens soon. Due to my lack of texturing skills I'm trying a new idea. Its more combat than RPG and it is sort of 2D platformer with 3D graphics.

Yeah it should be!
I'm still working on it but it is harder than I thought!
For this I have to add in gravity aswell so it is a tiny bit harder.
Not giving up though!

I've got the basic engine in place and I'm modelling and animating the character to suit it. It is pretty fun and the level editor goes well. Screens soon and possibly a demo.
I'm also working on a huge include file of functions to release to help people. It has built in sliding collision and stuff already. I'm building in as much as physics as possible. Should prove pretty useful to me too.

When I upload one.

When will that be?

When I've got enough that I'm happy to show you.

I already released that rather large demo with code when I restarted the project so if you haven't already then take a look at it.

Thanks. I'm trying to make the most of the built in DBPro terrains. Next I'm going to add .x importing.

A new member to ELB Software: Mr Naughty.
Also, I've got someone making some models. Hopefully this time they won't just stop replying to e-mails and not even telling me they weren't going to do anything else for me.

Glad you like, I thought I'd do something for you since you help me so much. I think I'll go make something else, like a hud similar to the one in the last demo you put up.

Or if you describe how you want it to look I'll make it that way.

OKay, question will Tauron be the only character the player can play as? This is so I can add a portrait of Tauron to the hud. Also will the player learn magic, if so I'll add a bar for MP. And will XP be printed like it is in the last demo or will it use a meter?

Could you just make a space on the HUD for me to put in the picture or were you going to make your own image of him? HP, MP and XP will all be shown on the HUD as well as a combo bar which will look pretty much the same as the other bars. I also would like to show the players level and current weapon if possible. I'm sure whatever you make will be usable directly or after a small bit of editing.
Everything will be shown by bars except for weapon and level.

Okay, do you have any graphic editing programs?
I ask this because if so you could exporta character portrait with a transparent background and paste the image above the hud in DB. For the combo bar is it just a bar that fills up or something? Will the current weapon be text or a picture? Just need to know these things also.

Oh well I didn't want to post a hud, and then have you wonder where the meters were if you wanted the meters to be externally created images.

Okay. Can't wait to see the hud in the game.
So how goes the new engine anyways? Those terrains are definatly sweet as I already said and I'd love to see some screens of something happening on them!

Yeah well still hoping for some models to add in eg.buildings, plants, wells etc. Loads of medieval stuff. I could do the models but I can't texture.

Yeah I hate texturing, it's soo hard, for example look how crappy this textured object of mine is:

It sucks, I know. It doesn't even look like a texture and it's legs weren't finished. But it will be because it's for a project.

I know it isn't realistic but it is pretty funny! If you were going for a comedy/cartoon game it is pretty good. My main problem texturing wise is actually UV mapping. I always end up with parts of the model un-mapped.

It's looking pretty good.
I just want to comment on one thing:
I like the skybox/skysphere and the mountains, they really look good. But the water seem too bright, they don't blend well with the enviroment.

I'm really looking forward to see more pics.

I know it is too bright. I had to set the object ambient to 0 so that you could see it while it is ghosted. I'll upload the new pictures soon.

Why not!
I had plans for it certainly. Either two people on the same PC; one with mouse+keyboard and one with a control pad. I already tried that and it was pretty fun. Alterantively, I could try over the internet or LAN. I haven't tried to work with networking yet so that would be harder.
Here are some more screenshots of levels with lighmapping.

I also just looked again at the collision demo Aura sent me a while back. Thanks again Aura! That was brilliant! The above level has perfect collision thanks to it.
