As you Know, a few days ago I surfaced with an announcement that my company, Sage Tech was developing a game by the name of World of Medieval Heroes. But because I had no screen shots, I lacked the proof of progress of this game. Therefore I had my forum Locked and from there devoted many hours to my project, Not sleeping till 5 in the morning. (its Christmas break here) Last weekend my server arrived, I will be using a 1 gigahertz computer for my server, I have done many test on my game and have quite a bit done this includes:

1. Basic Camera however does lack the major 3rd person view

2. Map has been worked on extensively and is rather Large

3. Network play is working with help of dll scripts and lag is not much of a problem

4. Some models such as armor are completed but I wish not to put those in until they are pretty much all done therefore my third person view is not complete.

5. Almost fully functional side bar this includes the map, a selection for what you can wear, and Inventory. I hope to give the side bar a little less cartoon feel however.

I still have a lot of to do on completing server and am trying to get almost no lag without the cost of losing maximum players.

Finally I have a screenshot which showcases the side bar, map and view, but like I said no 3rd person view yet.

Hmmm intreresting... Did you know that your inventory bar looks the same as the one in runescape??? Is that the only screen you can post?? And have you loaded any enemys or players in yet or is it just the landscape so far. Anyway looks good

P.S See it doesn't hurt to post some proof of your hard work!

no, my father doesnt develop graphics (though he does have a degree in it) he developed flight simulaters at his old job and they used a program to make the flight simulater look realistic you know with the ground and sky and buildins and so on so forth

@ Cellbloc Studios:

Wait, have you hacked that guys account or pasted the "edit post" bar in?

@ Sage Tech Admin:

Looking good, but

a) What about the general "engine" for the game i.e. have you got a decent systen set up for managing properties - say, for example, player health, player relationship, player progress. Also physics (if any), a sound engine, loading models + progress ... the list goes on

b) Is this going to be commercial? If so, your server needs to able to handle a lot

Wow! I'm glad you posted a screenshot with something to show. Now if we could see some thing more with creatures that you can attack and a chatbox that would really be proof!

I'm glad to see that you've actually been working on this and proving us wrong.

well first off i dont think this will go commercial, its nothing compared to the big mmorpg's out there! however like runescape i think we may charge membership for enhanced play if it becomes big enough, but thats looking ahead, like I said i plan to have a demo with some of they key features used by the end of january.

From now on, when you double post, I'll be there!

Anyhoo, sounds like you've got at least some work done, impressive. You've already gone one step further than 99% of MMORPG makers on this board.

@JeBuS

Do you want to do the honors or should I? The GOOD news is he did edit the first one, but then added a second one.

[EDIT]
Arragh! You got me by 2 min! You dog you!

Anyways, looking good. Throw in an object, like a tree, chest, table, anything so it's not a blank room.

ok im developing the battle engine and im not sure how i should do it. I thought about sword battling works by drawing sword and moving it with the mouse and clicking to strike. another idea is a menu to pop up on the main one when near a enemy and you can decide what to do such as clicking stab or strike on the menu. Any suggestions?

I think dragging the sword would be nice, a bit of innovation never could hurt. And for comments and suggestions was taht directed towards the graphics of the hud?

Edit:

Here is an example of a hud(more like part of a hud) I can make.

This is for a project a friend of mine is creating but I can make something similar for you.

thats ok i know you have every right to be skeptical, and you should! infact I encourage you to be skeptical. But i had been working on this before i posted the first anouncement, i just couldnt figure out how to post screenshots , well i posted one but ran out of room, i found photo bucket and therefore i can now post screenshots. but its ok for you to be skeptical, maybee youll be apeased by the demo.

ok now i would like to mention i have envoked a private chat option.
im still coding it and laying it out but it works okay....No luck on the radar map though!
