Just teasing ya.

By the way; since they may be taking over the distribution of the pack, could you ask them to keep a copy reserved for the prizepool for next month's Level Design Comp? I'm sure that would get more people involved.

Jon - Good luck, you deserve it. Everyone can tell you put a lot of work in your weapons and you even made it past 98% of the weapon experts on the forum.

KeithC - There you go thinking about the forum users again. Don't give up.

yes, indeed they are freaks

lol, just kidding, but i think the support for left handed wouldnt really be worth the effort

once i get back from college im gonna get working straight away on those fixes, and then they may be set for tgc

Grats on the deal, Jon!

cheers buddy, and thanks for buying the first one, really appreciate it

(off topic)

to keep people entertained:

lol, what i made at college in 2 hours, just begginer max training, had to make a simple table scene, i think i overdone it, screw the uv mapping

kinda sucks, but i was just messing around trying to get as much stuff on the table as possible, eventually there was 2 miniguns, which unfortunately, i removed

I can never remember my etiquette - should the minigun be placed to the left of the fish knife, or to the right...

BTW, do I spy doughnuts on the plate between the candlesticks?

Congratulations on the TGC deal Jon!

Cheers

well, Ive sent the fixes they've requested, given them my details, they'll send me the contract, sign, send back then that should be it, how long that will take im not sure, though TGC are very quick at these things, for instance, when they sorted out Model pack 4 in like a couple days

another pic to keep this thread alive:

been playing around with ZBrush some more, im starting to get a hang of the program, not great, but i think theyre nice so far

zbrush shots...

and a crappy, though not too bad, 3ds max shot:

if only i actually uv mapped this, though i like working with solid colours anyway, deoesnt distract you, sometimes some things are better left untextured.

im hoping to progress and be able to normal map my models soon, ive already tried a bit of normal mapping though overlapping uv's seem to really screw it, everything needs to be unique, which isnt fair for when you want symmetry

holy crap...that's amazing work...and you call it crappy?
here i am patiently waiting the corepak 2's arrival...maybe as an official model pack now, but making it an official model pack won't affect the price, will it?

Nice work. This might be better than My own weapon animations! I def. like how the gun is animated after You pull the trigger.. I have two questions about Your pack.
-Will You have updates and fixes?
-Is it royalty free when I sell My games?

The video made Me hungry for this pack..
Keep up the good work!

This is just an idea but could you make the realoading a little longer and more realisticly long?

There's an easy fix for that: When baking the normal map, offset one set of the overlapping uv's by a value of exactly 1.0 in either the U or V axis, it doesn't matter which. After you're done baking the normal map, you can move them back, or simply leave them where they are, they will still be mapped correctly.

I personally HATE HATE HATE Zbrush's interface, like a lot of other people. I'm anxiously waiting for Mudbox to be released, hopefully it will be priced competitively to Zbrush.

-possibly
-yes

@ bond1

interesting theory, i'll try it outlater, need to actually map something before i go and zbrush it this time

i too hate the interface, im too used to nice windows applications, which is why mudbox appears to be so interesting, though i'll grow to it in time, its still an excellent tool

Yes it does actually work, the idea is to get one set of the overlapping UV's out of the "main" uv square for the normal map bake. If you have Chuggnutt's free UV Tools for max, it makes it really easy to type in the precise offset. Offsetting by a value of 1.0 basically tiles that chunk of UV's - while still preserving the mapping coordinates.

The normal map generator ignores everything outside of the main UV square, you can just move it back after you've generated the normal map if you like to keep things nice and tidy.

I really hope this will be out by the weekend.....(BTW I know it's been asked, but if it becomes an official model pack, will that affect the price?)One last question: The guns that have scopes on them in the video, will we be able to use sniper-zoom effect?

sorry, all the animations are complete, tgc seemed to be satisfied with them, plus in most games, you will notice that near all reloading sequences are sped up just for the gamers experience, so you are not left there bored.

this is applied everywhere especially when putting a new mag into the weapon, i think no game really takes the true amount of time it takes. its usually out then straight in (take the stocks for example)

though i value your opinion, i think it isnt much of a large concern, plus all the weapons have been sent to TGC and they are set ok for distribution (i believe, still have yet to receieve a contract, just trying to get not too hasty )

i assume, they said to send all graphical fixes (couple thumbnail and alpha channel problems) so they can get it ready, but i should think i have to wait for absolute confirmation, and ofcourse a contract to actually come, cant go overboard stating this when nothing is official

Great! Then Im on.. But something that really shourld look better is the fighting animation. (Boxing..) When You are fighting like that the arm rotates almost 90 degrees, on the video the arm just moves in & out, witch looks a little bit strange..
Otherwise most of it looks fine!

"This is just an idea but could you make the realoading a little longer and more realisticly long?"

No. I dont agree.. If You have 20 Zombies hunting You, I bet You wourld reload pretty fast You too! (Most reloads looks fine except the ak47 animation..)

And it wourldnt be to bad with an ak5 as well...
