thanks guys,

@ Smitho:

actually, a new round is inserted, just before the bolt is pushed back into place, its just hard to see, i'll get a screen if you want, but i think its just the hand covering it up, so i'll go onto the no-hands version and make a video...later.

@ Pulsar Coder

yes, it can be used outside of FPSC, for ANY purpose, just not redistribution. i will include a license, i am currently having some small troubles with sounds, and may have to edit some stock ones, so you MAY not be able to use the sounds outside of FPSC, but im trying my best to make unique ones

right, off now

cheers guys!

Thats my point.. its not supposed to. What should happen on the animation is:

1) Pull trigger.
2) Pull bolt action - Empty shell is released.

For the reload:

1) Bolt is pulled back, but not put back to original place, and clip is removed from underneath the rifle.
2) New clip is inserted.
3) Bolt part is put back.

I hope you understand - check attachment to see where clip goes.

Rifles never replace rounds after each shot, Im sure, although this always used to apply to much older weapons such as muskets (More like miniature cannons )

well, ive never used a sniper rifle, so i wouldnt understand, however this one doesnt have a magazine to obtain rounds from, rather individual bullets, i have seen some sniper rifles (without magazines) which have rounds inserted individualy, obviously, not more modern ones such as that M24.

the animation is sufficient though, as ive said, this one doesnt have a mag like the M24, so whereelse are the bullets going to go?

im having some small troubles with the sounds, and i shouldnt be working with my laptop for this. some have come out alright, i'll put them and butters' to use

it seems it wont be out tommorow, there will be a small delay of a day or 2, probably available for friday. but i'll try my best to get these bits finished quickly!

i don't know, right now im very frustrated anyway, i cant get any peace where i am, my idiotic brother shows no regards to the project, and im finding it very hard to get any silence to do a decent recording, let alone the space and time given to work with the equipment given to me (VERY little)

I am NOT a sound artist, the pressure to have it done quickly isnt very appealing either.

sorry guys, may have to edit the stocks' to make some good sounds, this doesnt mean they will come out exactly like the stock weapon sounds, obviously i'll edit them to sound cooler, you just probably wont be able to use those sounds outside of FPSC

and even if you are using this outside of FPSC, you should consider yourself lucky to get the models alone for $20

...updates soon, hopefully

edit:

AK isnt coming out too bad actually, just needed a bit of clipping in areas, may come out ncie after all

sorry for sounding so mean in my last post guys, i think its always when i start out with something new, im already getting a hang of things, ive composed an almost perfect reload sound for the AK, made from some clciking sounds and some tools clashing, it was just my microphone doesnt pickup sound enough and i wasnt amplifying it as much as it needed

so it seems things are going well so far (despite only finishing one weapon reaload sound) i have managed to get a basic feel for it, hopefully i dont need to resort to other sounds, and can make them all out of my compositions

My .02 on the sniper rifle... I think it's fine and believable.

Plenty of tactical bolt actions have a "short throw" which means the bolt doesn't have to be moved a great distance to do it's work. Also, many (including the widely used Rem 700 series) have internal magazines which are not removed and are filled somewhat like how Jon has animated.

Like he says, it's more than sufficient... FPSC lacks support for all the states that are needed for realistic firearms so it can be infuriating if you know your stuff. IE; no different states for empty vs. tactical reload and no empty/hold open state.

Keep up the good work and best of luck on the SFX!

thanks EAI, its all practice anyway, and in alot of games, there are different ways for reloading, which can be misleading, yet they work perfectly for the user.

so far, VERY good (for me) on the SFX, plenty of left over airsofts lying around which i put to great use just a simple adjustment which i forgot to do before made the sounds so much clearer, all is going well so far

so hopefully tommorow i can get them ALL finished, all i need is no distractions

Jon.... just wondering, are the sword and bow as shown in a previous thread in this pack? If yes, can they also be used by enemies?

i couldnt get the bow working, because i couldnt succesfully get it to bend right with bones, and FPSC was being annoying with the heirarchy, so no, might release them for free though

umm, all the huds for the weapons are different, if you mean the crosshairs, i agree, i might change a few

That's a pitty, could have used it for a fantasy game I'm working on. But even if ít's non animated I guess it still would be fine for me, so hopefully you'll be able to release it. How about the sword? Same problem or wii that be released for free also?

jon, your work is just wonderful as ever. I especially like the M4 grenade launcher and the baseball bat

But i have one suggestion

about the axe....in your video it doesnt look like you slash with
the axe blade. i mean, how would you kill someone with an axe ?
cant find the right words -_-

imagine a huge jackhammer. the axe animation is nearly the same.

ps: never seen such a great work before for fpsc

yeah...thats the ticket !

You kill a guy with an axe the same way you kill some one with a knife or another sharp object.

maybe you could make an animation for the M4, so it sets it to the grenade launcher mode. maybe the Scankeycode= thing thats it in the update, maybe if you could press a certain key on the ketboard, i.e Y or something, then maybe it would play the aninmation of the gun changing, then change the gun to the M$ launcher.

just an idea.

@ Benjamin

well the only thing left of that genre would be the sword so it was kinda pointless, instead keep this pack modern, i'll release that for free though aswell

@ Mr FlowerKohl

thanks, the axe swings sideways, instead of straight down, like the guys' really lugging it, it looks right when i attack someone with it, but thanks for the suggestion

@ Lewis

not possible, or atleast to my knoledge, i think all the weapon scripts are actually in the source, rather than external, so im not sure

Cool.... looking forward to the fantasy weapons and also still to the characters. I've looked at the knife, axe and bat aswell, but with some retexturing they may be suitable for a more fantasy like genre also. So, even though none of my games uses modern weapons, I may still get the pack because of these items. I did get CorePak 1 and am really happy with it, good items and good quality, so this pack should be good (even better) aswell!

But then again I've never caught on to terms like that...

John, when the Jackhammer fires, afterwards does it have some sorta click for exchanging the shells, or does this happen somewhat silently or what? I'm kinda curious.

That was actually quite lenient. Everyone knows the rules, they are posted. I spend more time having to clean up people's posts/delete pirated media, than actually participating anymore. This job just doesn't pay enough.....wait, it doesn't pay at all

Keith's right.
And the gentleman in question has been around long enough to know better.
And we do tend to spend more time cleaning up the forums at times than we do participating.
And poor Keith has been getting all of the pirate threads lately.
