hi essex, although i havent heard the sounds, i assume: great job, and you seemed to get alot done in little time!

thanks, about the reloads, some i think were pretty good for a novice such as myself in recording.

im very eager to hear these new sounds

You can get a house for 5,000 in Anvil, its quite big, just theres ghosts in it, a really easy quest to finish

yes the arrow dupe trick ONLY works on 360, try not to dupe 1 item more than 250 times at a time, game will freeze

Arrow dupe works on PC too but the method is a little different... Still have to pull back on the bow but then switch to a different kind of arrow. Soul gem isn't used.

Ya, I found the order link and everything, but cause my dad's preping for Haloween he won't buy it till November 1st anyway

So, is this available now? I found the link, but if I were to purchase, would it be available for download on the 1st?

Edit: I just may have been the very first person to buy pack 5

Well I bought it even though I'm never likely to use
at all!
For 90% of FPSC users this offering is both a godsend
and really superb value for money, as are all the model packs.

This model pack however adds the much sought after hands
to some groovy weapons, it is a solid offering indeed,
congratulations to all involved.

screw that, i bought the manor for 25,000 in skingrad! 3 floors

i found a bug on one of the quests (finding the vamp cure) and when you go to claim your reward he keeps giving you 2500

i see some people have bought it already, thanks to these people! even though im seeing nothing right now

they had to quickly include something earlier, thankfully nobody downloaded it, so when you do go to, you'll get the final instalelr

i'll be using a new thread tommorow as a FAQ, some newcomers may not be aware of how to change hand textures/get rid of hands.

does this mean you have received the download?

Yes, I've received and tested it.
I should add since it's the creator asking
me a question, good work mate.

I have downloaded it and tested it as well. It is beyond awesome. Using the melee weapons against zombies is a very beautiful thing.

Darn it! Well that pretty much ruins ALOT of my plans. I still don't see how you can limit that, since FPSC was made in DBP, and if you make a custom EXE, your essentially using DBP. Ah well...

If it was allowed to be used in other applications, the price would go up significantly.

OK, how much are we talking? I'd give my left [mod edit] (or some serious cash) for a decent pair of rigged, textured hands.

Your looking £60+ (thats one model, not a whole pack), media is not cheap in the real gaming world, you should be lucky your getting this stuff so cheap.

That's not for me to hash out, but for all the animated weapons alone, Jon could ask for a high double-digit to three digit figure. Add in the hand variations and eveything else, and the cost could be significant.

thanks for the comments guys, be sure to make some killer games with them!

if im in a good mood i could make custom weapons with full animations and hands for about £40 though i dont always have time, and im more for commercial experience than money.

Any chance of releasing the source files so we can add in different weapons, or are we on our own there?

you mean you want to add weapons to those hands?

im afraid that may be a breach of the contract releasing those for free, but i could always make a new pair of hands

Is there a non-glove texture for the hands?

you can easily retexture it, but the one problem which prevented me from doing bare, was a little extrusion that comes out on the wrist, showing the geometry of the glove seam, so it would look like a weird skin fold or soemthing.

Congratulations on the release Jon! Looks really great!

It was pure marketing genius the way you dangled it out in front of people, then pulled it away FOR A WHOLE FREAKING MONTH under the guise of "I need to sort out some sounds" or some crap like that.

I know I'm on foreign territory here (I don't have FPSC ) but I'm pretty sure just a set of generic textured, rigged hands would be very useful for anyone developing an FPS in DBPro/GDK/GDK.NET.

As a non-artist, I could make a passable gun with animations, but I'm sure you (of all people) can appreciate how difficult it is to get good looking hands, fully rigged.

Although you'd probably get a lot of moaners if you advertised a set of hands for sale on the 3DChat board (whinge whinge, why isn't it free?), I bet it would generate some interest.

sure. its all good practice, its not too much of a job when it comes to mapping anyway.

perhaps i'll make a tutorial on modeling hands, aswell as a free pair

interesting...the laser texture shows up but the others dont...

check the M4A1 folder in gamecore/guns and make sure there are 2 textures, 1) hand_tex.jpg and 2) m4a1_tex.jpg (or something similar)

thanks guys

@ Superdean

please list your system specs, preferably your video card aswell, you may not have enough memory for the textures.

if that is the case, perhaps you could scale the m4a1_tex to a 512 texture, to save some vram

You know, I was thinking about it, and realized us DBP users have to pay more for everything - DBP itself is twice as much as FPSC, the Darkmatter Packs & WWII packs are twice as much as the average FPSC pack, and we end up paying a couple hundred in addons. I don't see why TGC won't let us use it in DBP (if we have FPSC of course), especially since the FPSC engine was made in DBP, and therefore, unqestionably, is a DBP Program/Game.

Hey jon, sorry for bumping this thread. I just wanted to express my appreciation to you for creating these models. Thanks! Because of these models I have decided to use FPSC again. Hopefully soon I will have a few screens of your weapons in action to show you.

thanks for the kind words RF.

i hope to be working on some more weapons in the future, having seen EAI's new ones, it looks like im finally gonna have to make that jump to normal and specular maps soon if im going to compete (grr)

so i may be on and off for a while practicing some things. i may release some free weapons in the progress

though i think, that the best type of weapons to normal map would purely be old weapons such as swords, axes etc. due to their fine scratches, ceremonial and tribal designs, and there isnt no complex UV mapping to get into (flipped normals etc.)

all in due time.

once again, thanks for your appreciation, i was beggining to get the impression people were thinking less of them after EAI's

One thing I recommend for the new weapons, do not make the animations float like EAI's. Recoil is a sharp motion with pistols and automatic weapons. Notice that the slide on his pistols come back extremely far. at the point that he has them the slide would fall off the gun. the only weapon that has a some what smooth recoil is a rifle, and they are still jerky in nature, have you ever shot a 7mm? this is my hunting rifle of choice and while it floats a tad it still kicks like a mule. it would be a back and then up motion, and the rifle would travel a bit forward before it gets to the firing position again. as far as the m-16 and the variants when reloading all you do is slap the bolt release to chamber a round.

suggestion:

Work on a dual arms with weapons. I dont think fpsc can handle them as seperate weapons but it would be cool to see some dual 9's. you could also work on a 12 guage both long barrel and sawed off. maybe you can work on a sig sauer x-5 and the x-6 for the next pack.
