Excellent! I downloaded the demo and it was great! Here is my review...
Good points: Quite a lot actually. The overall atmosphere that the game created, was well executed. The music went well with the game and set that eerie mood. The choice of music for the loading screen really built up my anticipation along with the writing. As soon as I started, I felt connected to the level. I looked around and read the document on the table and it helped me understand the loading screen "story" better. I then noticed the door and opened it. When I went throught the doorway, the game paused for a few seconds and I actually expected a video clip, but at the same time I was scared, because I didn't know when it would start, and what it was. I nearly pissed myself when the eye suddenly appeared with the high pitched scream. I got nervous as the scenes changed and then I slowly regained confidence until that awful eye appeared again, lol. That really did scare me. I then braced myself for more and continued with the level. Further down, the level design was still great and the dark areas still looked as though they concealed some nasty who was about to jump out at you. I found the pistol and the first thing I noticed was the absence of an ammo counter. This worried me because I had no idea how much ammo I had and it could run out at any time (I had a thought of seeing a zombie, me pressing fire, no gun shot and walking around, in terror with a "thing" following me!) Since I now had a gun on me, I expected a zombie, or was it there as a tool? To shoot something perhaps? I continued my journey and found a locked door. I then began searching for the key and found it quite close. I then picked it up and turned around, only to recieve my second jump. I reacted quickly and shot the Ba..erm, person. He was gone, but I still had that feeling that there were more about. I explored the level a bit more, using the glock as a torch. I really admired the overall layout of the level and the lighting was top notch! Soon the level came to an end, and I played it again just incase I missed anything. Really great start for something that has a really great potential, well done. I will most definetly be making those meat models now
Bad points: Not that many actually. The only really let down was seeing that zombie surgeon, It's a good model but an alternative texture would of made the effect even better. Also the glock weapon pickup ruined the feel for the level (its appearence as a pickup), I don't know if this is possible, but can you make weapon pickups appear less bright, or was it intentional, so the player could see it? Anyway, those minor points don't affect the way I feel about this excellent use of FPS Creator. Well done, great effort, and hopefully the full game will be just a good, if not better than what has just made my day, today
