I'm with BCDP.
Nintendo has always kept the market going with new and innovative ideas. The new controller's just the next thing to improve as far as consoles go. It brings video games to a whole new level.
Sure the PS3 has the tilt thingy, but even the GameBoy used technology like that on games like Kirby: Tilt and Tumble. The Wii also use the same technology, but it's operating in both sides of the "chuck" controller, plus you've gotta love that bow aiming in the Legend of Zelda : TP! That FPS game, Red Steel (Ubisoft), the control system is wicked awesome!
As far as I'm personally concerned, video games are about being fun. Lots of money spent deprives me of the pleasant security of enjoying my games. I hate spending tons of money!
Also SONY doesn't actually make any of the games on thier consoles, they are all 3rd party! Most games that are on the PS2 are also on the Xbox or GameCube. Things like LegendofZelda, Mario Bros., Animal Crossing, Pikmin, ChibiRobo, and such other Nintendo Games have always been and will continue to be awesome. Nobody can make a decent copy of them. Anybody can make an FPS or another turnbased RPG. (though the story really counts in that case!) But games are too mass produced.
Even the old 8-bit games are still fun! I can pick up the NES Controller and still play for hours.
It's not about big claims, big numbers, uncompressed textures, surround sound audio... It's about fun. If somebody has more fun playing dozens of Wannabe Halo, Wannabe FinalFantasy, and Wannabe-an-immitation-of-some-other-game-that-sold-good-so-we-tried-to-make-one-just-likeit... If that's fun, then go ahead and play it. But I preffer new things, addictive things, things which are appropriate for all ages so even my mom would feel comfortable playing with me. (Does that really sound so wierd?)
It's about creativity, you can even see it here on the forums. Everybody tries to immitate somebody else's game, but the truly original stuff takes the most work and in the en, it's the most fun again, and again.
Phew... There's my three cents.
Nintendo Forever!
(I do like the 360 though!)
