Well either way get rid of the internet and the problems with internet piracy are solved. Developers can still make movies, games and all that other great stuff without the need of the internet.

You can still pass knowledge to others through things like libraries and what not too. A person can also be always up to date by purchasing magazines at the local store too.
And I have a phone that I can call family with as well.

We lived a long time without it and can still live without it.

Kind of a "Burn down the house to fix a leaky roof" solution. Drastic! I like it.

Yes very drastic, But as said it certainly would solve a lot of their problems and many more. I just read not to long ago something about the US military having a slight internet security breach. Something like that would worry me. And also makes me think about how secure I feel when all other countries can use programs like google earth to plan out attacks and crap like that using the internet. Yes I really do feel they should just shut it down.

I'm sure other countries' military don't use google earth to plan any attacks. They have satellites for that. Except those very poor and smelly ones maybe.

Those poor little smelly ones can do just as much damage. I think they proved that on 9/11

I wouldn't call saudi arabia poor. Where most of them allegedly came from. Besides. You said countries, when did terrorists start representing whole countries?

What difference does that make. It was terrorists that cause the war between countries. being the US, Irac and all others that were and are involved in the war.

It was also terrorists that caused the conflict between Pakistan and Israel.

Sorry i'm off topic now so i'm done.

Yeah, let's not go deeper then we already are. I sure have a lot of things to say about this new topic, though. But I will shout at the wall instead.

You can't 'shut down' the internet

It's not a thing, it is thousands upon thousands of small connections.

Love this image - just a tiny part of the internet...

I'm sure he was just being funny. I hope. If you just stop for a minute and consider the implications... the billions and trillions of exchanges, transactions, communications, etc that happen on a daily basis, it would be like stopping the earths rotation.

A more interesting and provocative discussion would be way's to fix a broken ankle without cutting off the head.

It was a silly thing to say, and even more silly for someone to publish, but then that fits right in with the whole attitude. Since when does the the loser in a case get to decide how he will pay the winner. LOL
