Strength - Allowing you to jump to greater heights and increasing melee damage on enemies when using melee weapons.

Oh! Reminds me of Crysis (oooh! how I hate it when people compare my projects with other games...and why do I suddenly do it myself? o.O)

However! This is definately a great idea.
I can't wait to see some more screenshots or videos perhaps of the game's levels and enemies.

@Bootlicker,

It depends on how well my engine is done. I'm basically trying to polish off the whole games engine and how everything works like powers etc first before working on the full game, which will make it easier for me if I have everything laid out.

It all depends on how well I'm doing and time as I work and I'm planning to move countries, haha!

@Wolf,

Thanks for the comparison! Its always good to be compared to a good game.

I'll be releasing a few more videos soon. Just setting up the levels for testing

@defiler,

Thanks

Looks good lewis I;'ve noticed that you use a somewhat "more smooth/polished version" than the original FPSC game is.
Love the HUD. Love the powers, Love everything

1 Question: Why dont you try to have your own Costum weapons?

@Bootlicker,

Changed.

Thank you, I'll bear that In mind mate.

@PekelaarSFX,

Simple: I'm going to be releasing the game to people that probrably have never heard of FPSCreator. The weapons are superbly modelled and if I used custom ones, it would be a downgrade. What's the point in lowering the quality of my media to be custom?

@Hamburger,

Australia. I'm currently working and saving up to get a visa to move and be with my girlfriend (who's Australian and also a fan of Alpha Project, haha!)

@ Wolf: Well in the most FPSC Games i get a typical FPSC feeling, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir5pxZHfw5A.
But when i see the vids of alpha project it looks more polished.
No texture reduction, anti aliased and so on... or you just have 1 top-notch pc?

@ Lewis: True - No point to downgrade

Update:

Tweaked the MCS870 by adding shells to the shell holder on the weapon thus making it more custom. I'll try and tweak a few of the weapons to add more variety, like addons and retextures.

@Bootlicker,

I rotated the shotgun and animations in fragmotion and then tweaked the gunspecs. Use the "transform" commands in fragmotion until the tip of the ironsight of the shotgun is pointing directly up.

fml. i have no idea how to use any commands in fragmotion. only use it for importing and exporting. is there a way to do this in milkshape?

i would add you on msn to stop spamming your thread, but im not sure if im that important xD

@Bootlicker,

I think there's a less painful way how to do it on the forums somewhere in form of a tutorial (I think it's this one:http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=159681&b=24), but this is what I did:

That's all I can do to help mate. Work and everything else leaves me a busy man.

@Bootlicker,

Not a problem. The majority of people who use FPSC are young anyway and dont have the knowledge to make a good game, excect the likes of a few people who have talent using FPSC. I dont have much competition in terms of commercial release and the genre I'm in, so I dont mind helping you out a little bit if it means you can advance more than the other, dare I say it.. Noobs?

This is one of the best threads on a game development I have had the pleasure to read. This is great work, and you certainly demonstrate effectively the potential that FPSC can do with the hard work, dedication, and persistence that you have provided. This just reaffirms how anyone with this application can make some good, solid, classy games. You have inspired me to work hard on my developments.

Wish you the best of luck on the final outcome. I have a feeling you will do quite well.

defiler,

I've just recently moved to Australia and I had to leave my main computer behind, but I've taken my hard drives (with Alpha Project on) with me. I have a laptop (with better specs than my old desktop) that I'll be using for future development but I have to get a SATA to USB converter adaptor to get the files off my SATA drives in order to continue. I've ordered a cable off ebay however it hasnt arrived yet and I'm still waiting.

Once it has arrived, I'll be able to continue working on the game. Thanks for keeping interest and I'll try and get to work on it as soon as I can!

HOLY BAJESUS. How in the hell did you do that motion blur? Is it the mod? Anyways, very nice job on the game man. I played the demo and i was like freaking out because it was so good/scary. I love the level designs, and your really good at lighting too to make it all scarry

Alpha Project V2 Demo Released!

Download HERE

Known Issues:
Motion blur is disabled at the moment and cant be turned on. if you guys want to have motion blur and bloom, you'll have to wait until I reupload a new setup file for the game. I'll update this post with a new link once its done.

Mods, if you could unlock my Showcase thread for Alpha Project, that'd be great.

Hey, I can't get the game running. AlphaProject.exe crashes immediately on launch with an "FPSC Game has stopped working" error regardless of if I try to launch it through the launcher (and does so after the decryption) or run AlphaProject.exe directly.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit SP1 and have tried altering the compatibility settings of the .exe to XP SP 3 with themes disabled etc but this makes no difference.

I thought the first demo was great so I'm looking forward to this one.

Cheers.
