Well, I have a game to make before the end of the month. But after that, I'll see if I can finish up one of my songs real quick and post it here.

What's it gonna be? I'm busy with several game-projects. One of them is a Break-Out clone (see WIP), the other is an Adventure-puzzle-action game, and i'm also planning on making a horrifying, skincrawling horror-game.

Quote: "finish up one of my songs real quick"

Sounds great!! I can hardly wait!!
Which metal-genre is it going to be?

Quote: "Have an all-night Overkill marathon"

Yeah, or you could do as that guy (I don't recall his name) from Belgium (where I live) who's trying to run EACH day of this year a marathon.

Hum, maybe he's trying to impress his girlfriend?
Or, maybe he has won sixty pair of running shoes, and needs to use them by the end of the year to get the first price (a car)?
Or..., maybe he's working for a company that sells roadmap-books of Belgium?
Or...

No, he's actually trying to break the record, and also trying to get more people interested in sports.

Btw budokaiman, how is your guitar? I've noticed that it does'nt have a bridge with tremolo? Mine did'nt have one aswell when i bought it, but I added one myself.

Cheers

That isn't my guitar, it's just a pic that I pulled from google. My guitar is nicer than that one.

Or, it could be that she's got a smelly breath, and he does'nt like it very much?
Or, maybe he is chasing her?

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.

Epiphones and Gibsons are different in every way. Gibsons are much more expensive because they have better pickups, better quality bodies, necks, a better bridge, and better hardware in general.

Well I have used both, I think the Epiphone works really well. I mean, the strings are a bit higher from the fretboard, but that is really the only difference(for me, the other things feel the same). Guitars are personal choice, are they not?

I found that in Germany too (Wacken) and actually I loved it, but then I'm typing this at 3am after having been round a house party. It also means the bands start playing later, so you've got more time in the morning to explore things - or nip off to the supermarket (at least at Wacken, it's within walking distance as the village is integrated with the festival)

This is what I was told and it would explain why everything live seems to end at 11pm. I think it's to do with social disturbances, but there are time when that's ridiculous, because A: It might be in a nightclub where they're playing loud music until 3am. And festivals where there are no houses for miles around.

Well, it's going to be in several stages. Stage 1 (i.e. what I'm going to get done soon) has to do with media. Stage 2, called Swordfight, is going to be an arcade style fighting game (kind of like Mortal Combat or Tekken except with swordfighting instead of martial arts). Stage 3, which will be called The Killer, will have the same kind of gameplay, but it will have a very deep (and very dark, I might add) plot.

Good question, budokaiman.

Exodus style, Overkill style, Pantera style, Sepultura style, Suicidal Tendencies style, Sacred Reich style, Annihilator style, Heathen style, Warbringer style, Metal Church style, Machine Head style, S.O.D. style, Sodom style, Kreator style, Testament style, (shall I continue) style,...?

It'll be Exodus style Thrash, except without any vocals. In fact, I had Fabulous Disaster stuck in my head while I was writing it.

Exodus, Overkill, Sacred Reich, Annihilator, Heathen, Warbinger, Sodom, Kreator, and Testament are all awesome. Pantera, Sepultura, and Machine Head are okay. I never liked Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church (though their first album is okay), or S.O.D.

Thank you.

Quote: "I had Fabulous Disaster stuck in my head while I was writing it."

When I write music, I'll listen to as much, and as diverse music as I can in three days. For the next two, I won't listen to any. After those five days, I will write music. This way I can remember a lot of the different genres as influences, but I won't have any exact music in my head. I find that this is helpful for creating my own music, where influences can be heard, but there doesn't seem to be any stolen riffs, lines, etc...
Try it out for writing a song, see how it works for you.

Usually, when I have some good riffs or some good ideas in my head, I record those riffs (when I'm at home), and later on I check which parts fits best together, and so I create the entire song. Sometimes I even reverse the recorded riffs, which can give some very interesting results.

Quote: "Metal Church (though their first album is okay), or S.O.D.""

I especially like theire song 'Beyond The Black" (Metal Church) and 'Badlands'. And S.O.D. have some good stuff aswell, but most of their songs are WAY to short. It's almost as having 3 seconds of s*x.

That's the problem with Crossover Thrash. It's not real songs, it's just 30 - 40 seconds of crazyness.

It's hard to see, so I'll upload the normal pic. I did it when I was bored, there are still some problems, I think that the diagonal lines from the capital Mu and Alpha don't mirror each other exactly, but I plan to fix this.

I'm into bands like muse, and a few of pendulums songs, not really much of a music fan. Also I play e guitar, I have a les paul black beauty... but only an epiphone, although I don't see much difference between epiphone and gibson myself ...apart from the sound.

I'm not really into Muse, that much, but Pendulum are pretty good. It's a cool mix of alternative with electronic. It's different from a lot of the alternative garbage that's out there, not all alternative bands are bad, but there aren't many great ones.

A lot of the time I'll pull out my LTD over my Les Paul, and hell, my Yamaha(strat clone) sounds better than My tele all day long. It doesn't have the same screeeeeeech that my Strat has, but for a great rhythm sound, it can't be beat. Same with my Hohner acoustic. I like it better than my Martin. (Although this may be because I have super slinky strings on my hohner, keep it in open D, and rape it with my slide... Just saying.)

I also like some of the genres that you mentioned. Dire Straits, Queen and The Eagles are good, Santana I like aswell, Fisher Z I like too, U2 (I prefere their older songs and some of their newer stuff).
I like a wide range of music-genres. The only difference is, that I can listen to metal (in general) ALL day long without getting bored, and not to other genres (disco, new wave, house).

Yeah, they should have continued their original style of metal. TSO is a bit to orchestral to me.

Any fans of Satan(that later changed their name to Blind Fury)? That was some good old style metal.

@Herakles, what's up with your music recordings? Any progress?

Is there anyone interested to perhaps start an online metalband??

I have started a list, of albums that are to be released (only a few right now) so I'll post it, if anyone wants to add whatever new album they're excited about, please do so, and I'll update the list.

Not now, I have a pretty busy schedule at the moment, but if I do get enough free time, I'd love to.

I think it'd be easier to say what kinds of music I DON'T like:

Pop, hip-hop, rap...Any of that kind of stuff.

Personal favorites: Alternative, METAL, and (begin the flamewar) Country Music.

it was the best song in the world..."
