Well, I've written enough riffs for 2 or more songs, it's now just a matter of deciding which song I want to record.

That'd be awesome, but unfortunately, I have to keep the food on the table for me, my son, and my father (who's too old and physically impaired to have a job). I simply don't have the time to devote to a band, it's hard enough for me to find the time to devote to my game and this one song.

That would be great!! I'm looking forward to it!
Any ideas on what kind of metal you would like to have in our (maybe future) band? It could be a mixture of styles (trash, progressive, heavy metal,death...)

Quote: "Well, I've written enough riffs for 2 or more songs, it's now just a matter of deciding which song I want to record."

If those riffs are good enough, I'd suggest to record them both?

@Herakles
Well, I don't know how budokaiman sees this project as beeing professional or just for fun, but I think that (for now) it should rather be just for fun, and eventually see how far it could go. So, it's not that we have a deadline or anything like that, you know? And those riffs that you already have written, could come in handy much sooner than you intended, hey?
Besides, we all have other things to do, so if you still want to join, then just say the word, okay?

If anyone else would like to join in (bass, drums, keyboards, singing,...) then just say it, allright?

Cheers

@The Slayer

Yeah, I guess. And about the typing, yeah that's it. I'm not going to proofread thgis particular sentance just yo show toy how badly I typpe.

Dear god, that was horrible.

And if you have any need for something that doesn't involve actually playing something (or singing) tell me. I might be able to help.

EDIT About the country music...I was raised on it, okay? I'm from the Midwest-area in the USA...So it's not my fault!

Honestly I don't know why so many people dislike it...

It really doesn't matter, I will admit that I can't stand country, but if it weren't for a variety of genres, music would be too boring.

HOORAY I feel so accepted here. Horrible tyupaists FTW!

Yeah...I like country music, but ONLY country music...grates.

Another music genre I like that I missed: Comedy. Specifically, Tenacious D, The Lonely Island, and Weird Al. Those guys rule.

I like to occasionally listen to that stuff, maybe watch a video on YouTube, but I would never buy a comedy CD, or listen to just one song once in a while.

I've always felt that lyrics and singing add nothing to music, in fact they often get in the way of the music. So I say, if you absolutely must put lyrics in a song, you might as well make them funny.

I would have thought something more geeky would be better for a band made up of members of The Game Creators forum. Maybe even just that: "The Geeks". Or perhaps, since it's metal, "Murderous Geeks".

Anyone got a soundclick.com page or music that they have recorded anywhere else on the net? I'd be interested in hearing some of it if so. I used to be a pretty active member of the homerecording.com forums when I was doing storm chasing, but kind of stopped when I settled down.

I like your idea Slayer...Build on the "Dark" theme...But omit the "the." Just DarkBangers. Or something like that. That'd be awesome.

I like DeathShader aswell, and Apollic Doom sounds good aswell. I think we should also consider which type of metal we're gonna play, cuz' if we choose DeathShader as our bandname, then there should definately be some death oriented style in our music, don't you agree?

How about Dark Legion? Or Dark Cult?

Exactly what I was going to say. I like to play progressive metal, I'm not really a huge Death Metal fan.

Well, how about Dark Theatre? Dream Theatre is a progressive metal band, so Dark Theatre links us to progressive metal AND to Dark Basic. And, Dark Theatre is a name that can be linked to a variety of metal genres, hey? So, we could play different styles of metal (heavy metal, trash, progressive,...)

I think that that's a little too plagiarized. I don't think that the name has to be directly linked to DarkBasic, or related to TGC. If anyone comes up with a name that's just good, I'd love to hear it.

Here are some other names (I know, some of them are bad, I think):

- Byte (or Bite)
- Metal Storm
- Bacterium
- Fire
- Master
- Matrix
- Seignior
- MetalMesh
- Portal
- Circle Of Metal
- Shader
- Icon
- Data Legion

You have "Master" on there twice.
I'm looking through to find the best mix of those names.
I like: Seignior Matrix Shader. It must be something about the word "Shader" that I find appealing.

Ooops! I'll edit that.

Well, instead of two times 'Master', we could change that to 'Masters, hey?

Yeah, I like Shader too. It has something appealing to it, hey? And I really like Seignior aswell, because 10 years ago, I was already writing lyrics and playing metal to start my own band (which I never did), called Dark Seignior. Did you ever play in a band, budokaiman?

Up untill now, that is?

So, budokaiman, any thoughts on which name we will call our band? Shader? Seignior? Matrix?
Maybe we can make a tread where all the forum members can come up with a name, or choose 3 or 5 names of the ones we already have mentioned and let the other members vote?

Btw, I've begon recording some riffs and stuff. Nothing definite of course, but it could (maybe) be valuable for our one of our songs. Listen to it, and tell me what you think, okay?

Dude...That's awesometastiepic. I want in now. How about I comile the bits? Like, you all email the parts to me, then I put them all into one file. That OK?

BTW, I like Shader the best. I'd also like another word in there, but Shader's fine with me. My personal fav is "Death Shader." Bit hardcore, though.

Hehe, thanx man! Glad you liked it! Not too bad for an 41 years old guy, hey?

Do you mean mixing the different parts (riffs, drums, bass, keyboards, vocals) all together, or compiling all the songs?
Are you any good in artwork?

I like Shader too, and Seignior. Seignior gives something superior (comes from the french word seigneur, which means Lord, Monarch, Master...)

Uh, I guess both. I meant putting guitar, vocals, etc. into 1 song, but it wouldn't bo too hard to put them on 1 album, would it?

And no, I am no good at artwork. Well, I am at computerized artwork, so maybe logos, but most metal covers have some sort of awesome hand-drawn cover. So I couldn't do that.

But I'll see if I can whip up a quick logo, see how it'll go.

EDIT: Made a quick logo. I'm best at making nice loking text and buches of blur effects.

Isometric Death Shader... Brilliant, that will be our name.

I can try the artwork, I usually like to doodle band logos.

The riff was awesome, but a bit short and slow, I think that we should go with a faster Metalcore, more that a slower Death Metal.
