Well, I think it messes with the song. Though I do agree it's distinctive.

As for Ozzy, I love him. He rules. And so does Zakk Wylde. He's an awesome guitarist and singer.

Overall, anything with wild guitar solos is awesome to me. So...Yeah.

And for the band name, I say yes, and you should record songs. I'll compile. And get to listen to the EPICNESS!

Yeah, that'll be great! IDS rules! I'll continue with recording riffs whenever I have the time ('cuz I'm trying to get my game finished for the Intel contest).

Alright, I'll let you finish that first.

@Dude232:
I just gave some of those songs a listen. I'm not hugh on indie music, but the songs were pretty good.

Here's something I recorded a few days ago. Nothing too spectacular, just a riff and a guitarsolo. Would like your opinion, though?

Thanx

Yeah, it's a cool riff and solo, but I don't think that they go together very well. I think that we could use them both, just not in the same song.

Not related to what you're currently discussing, but I was at a gig the other night and I heard this song between the bands, can't remember it much, but it was just somebody screaming 'shut up shut up shut up shutup' but I can't find it. Anyone know what song I'm talking about??

Yeah, I guess your right. The riff is a bit too complex to make the solo come out, right? But yes, maybe we could use them both.

BTW, you should try the following: say the letters IDS rapidly. It sounds like 'ideas'.

Yeah, I'm really into them, they played a great gig the other night, but the venue sold way too many tickets, there was literally no room to move. Never mind mosh pits...

one of the more unique vocalists is jello biafra. dead kennedys were great and jello's voice set them apart from other great hardcore bands.

ah, i just learned of his association with another hardcore favorite the melvins (here's a fav melvins track, don't piece me to share). and here he is with melvins live.

to tie in my previous posts, and get back to a more metal flavor here , here's napalm covering nazi punks and sepultura (w/ jello) doing another classic.

guess i'm just in a dk mood today. not a bad thing, right?

How large was the venue? It does stink when you pay a lot of money for a concert and it gets ruined because you can't see the band or the people are too loud to really hear the music well.

Quote: "dead kennedy's were great"

I can't really comment, I just find them annoying. I'm not really into punk.

Not very big, there were about 300-400 people there and it was tightly packed. They were playing at newcastle university, in the basement bit Quite a good venue though.

Thanx guyz! So happy that you liked it!

This is more like the early Metallica style, don't you agree?

I currently have another great slow intro in my head, followed by a more intense riff.

Awesome, I plan on recording something soon, I've almost gotten the sound quality problem worked out.
Also, did you notice how IDS is at the top of my last.fm list. I may have alluded to it earlier.

That's great! Then we can finally do some recording, mixing and brainstorming on the riffs and drums and other instruments.

Quote: "Also, did you notice how IDS is at the top of my last.fm list. I may have alluded to it earlier."

Yeah, I read that, but I don't listen to Last.fm, so I don't know how it works. But, I just went to that site, and typed IDS, and it appears there's some information on a band with that same name? So, is it OUR band...? Did you do that, budokaiman? If you did, then that's totally AWESOME!

It's like pandora, so you can type something in, and it will play stuff that's similar.

I did not do that, I would have Isometric Death Shader typed out and not abbreviated. Maybe I should listen to the songs by the other band, see if they're good.

Again, Slayer, very nice. Not my favorite (I like it a bit more intense, like your earlier ones) but that would be the perfect wind-up to a song. I like it.

Well, slow parts can make an intense riff or song, TWICE that intense, because of the difference between them, and it ads so much more to the overall mood or intensity of the song (or album).

I listen to Nu-Metal, Hate Metal, Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal and all kinds of other metals ( and Hard Rock)

My fav metal bands are Nightwish, Korn, Dope, Tool, Serj Tankian (not a and really) and many others!

A goor representer (did I say good, I ment perfect) of hard rock is: Lordi! You can't find a better band!

Well, my game is almost finished. And, I'm doing a little of both - programming and recording. After my game BRIXOID, I'm starting another one, but I'll concentrate on our band IDS aswell, so there will not be a problem. Are you recording some riffs in the meantime? Did you get that problem solved? BTW, did you like my previous record?

Quote: "Wow, Slayer, that's really good. I think that the drums is a little too light (just turn down the pitch a bit) but overall I really liked it. Good job. "

Thanks, mate! Did you mean the snaredrum that was too light? I adjusted that and re- recorded it.

So, here are two versions of my previous record. The first one is the adjusted version without a guitarsolo:

You need to keep quoting me. I say some pretty cool stuff.

As for the riff: I really like that Slayer! I do agree, there are some technical issues, like at the beginning, the guitar seems to "squeak," and randomly become too high-pitched.

But I would like to say, while Metal is probably my favorite, I listen to a wide variety of music. Veeeery wide. Let me list the genres I don't listen to...It's much shorter:

Rap,Hip-hop,Pop, etc. All that stuff makes me want to kill something. And not in a good way.

Death Metal. And by that I mean the really cheesy vocals, way too artificial guitar...The supra-dark stuff. Just...Scary.

Peppy music. Nuff' said.

Some of my personal favorite genres: Alternative, Comedy (I'll listen to Pop music if it's Lonely Island) and of course...

MEEEEEEEEEETAAAAAAAAAAL!
