Ok, so everyone is saying they'll go, but what happens at these things? We just play lan games and swap code and look all geeky? What goes on? How long do these things last for also? I remember scene parties (for trackers and the demoscene) used to last for 3 or 4 days, so you had to stock up on coke, coffee and chocy.

More basic info required - not an agenda, just some ball park info. I'm in winchester, so if all you geographically challenged people end up in winchester instead, I'll meet you at the train station and I'll show you the city of pubs.

Well, At the last one, I think me and IanM were the very first to arrive(apart of course from the Bouncy Brick who is unfortunate enough to live in Chichester ) at about 12:30pm on Friday, the convention doesnt start while Saturday morning. We had lunch then we checked into our hotels and I had a bath and a nap. I then went to the ship hotel and met up with the other people that had arrived, it was good to meet the people as they turned up. We all went round a couple of pubs and to a nightclub etc.

The next morning, those of us that had survived went to the convention and some people put on small presentations, ( Philips was good, he has suggested he may do an EVEN better one this year).
A few hours later when Lee resurfaced, he gave a long talk and presentation on FPSC, and then we all went to the bar once more and engaged in LONG conversations regarding quantum physics and why DBP box should have "requires brain" on it. Philip and Lee are excellent talkers, and they love it .

The next day we played LAN games and some people worked on the coding contest, although there isnt going to be one this time around.

All in all it was great fun, cant wait for this years.

There may not be any LAN games this time - getting a hub and cables is expensive.

That is quite true. The internet exists for that, and its not only available in Chichester to my knowledge. They can play games at home even if they dont use Nildram

I have got plenty of cat5 should it be needed.

Well, we might actually go wireless - that would solve the expense of a network switch & cabling.

There was no real point to the coding challenge last time - people were busy playing games instead...

If we do, it'll be wireless only - mostly. I'll probably use my router (which will allow 4 people who's laptops are too old for wireless connection) to still be beaten by me in multiplayer games...

Probally not... I've been thinking about hosting one, but if I did it'd have to be in SC (and I'm not sure if I want to anyways)

There was some discussion about a LLRGT convention, but due to an attempt to please everyone it ended up in a most uncentral location And so it died out.

Also, have you managed to persuade Rich Davey to advertise it in the Newsletter yet?
