Is it just me, or do I feel like a complete loser celebrating one of us getting a girlfriend. (no offense)

I know that lots of us are married, and have girlfriends, but why post a topic about it?

err.. Yeah I agree. I just celebrated my 6 month with my girlfriend yesterday. I mean sure, we're all geeks but that doesn't mean we can't get girls. That's on a different level....

Hahah this should go next to the "New CAR!!!" and "New COMPUTER!!!" threads.

Mate, don't bind your happiness up in one person. Life is so blooming short, and feelings are so blooming fickle that if you place everything into one person, it can go sour very quickly.

There's nothing like losing a close person. Death has pain, but separation is the ghost that haunts you.

@Xeno:

Mmm. Why can't we be happy for the kiddo? After all, love, according to my dear deceased friend Albus, is the most powerful weapon of all.

It even owns all the fatality moves in Mortal Combat combined, plus the superweapons in C&C General, not to mention all the Metroid bosses at once.

Okay, now I do sound a bit weird. Maybe it's time for some sleep. 48 more hours before my girlfriend arrives here in Egypt after 3 long weeks of no hugging, kissing and snogging. ( Before someone asks/wonders, no not much more than that, I'm muslim - sort of - the very progressive type, then ). Maybe I should make a thread about that.

I am a muslim too, Rami (I think you know that)
Rami, supposedly the Quran says muslims are not allowed to date.

I think thats incorrect, and its not even in the Quran, so my parents let me have girlfriends.

Lets not make this a religious topic!

@Akicat, lmao

@Jess T, That scares the crap out of me

Xeno, as I said, I'm quite progressive, (contrary to my father, who is slightly progressive). I'm allowed to have a girlfriend and date her, actually - my parents even let her stay here in our house in Egypt... What I was implying is that I'm not allowed to do more than hugging/kissing/snogging, as for example... mmm... Okay, know what, we'll talk about it on MSN once.

And Jess, that was quite friendly of you. Really. I appreciate the backup. Apologies for bringing up the religion topic.

But finally, to Jordan, take care of her - but if you really love her - that'll go without saying. Never let anger or frustration get the best of you and do something stupid. Build on trust and love - that's the only way a good relation can be.

Hah, yes I understand

The Quran though clearly states that $ex before marriage is not allowed, so I guess for parents to make sure of it, they dont let their kids date.

Yup, I know. I read all 4 holy books of monotheistic religions (Tora, Old & New Testament, Quran). Just wanted to know all about religion for use in discussions. Also, I've investigated and talked with Pagans and ofcourse, in daily life, I meet a lot of atheists.

Personally, I consider myself agnost Islamic. (Which comes down to progressive muslim)

Basically, I believe in some sort of God/Allah, simply because scientifically seen - everything's so coincidental - One could reason backwards (everything is perfect for us because we exist, otherwise we wouldn't be able to conclude that it is since we wouldn't exist). Ironically, it was a science book (Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson) that convinced me something must have set this in motion. Also, I refuse to accept personality, morality, technology and the like are all the result of mere biological processes. Finally, I can't live with the idea of death being a permanent end (not a fear of death, simply the idea of living for nothing but to extend species or not that seems unacceptable).

I believe in Islam for most of its moral values. That's a personal choice. I red all books and felt that indeed the Quran I was brought up with was the most fitting and truthful book for me.

Nothing than respect for non-muslims, though. Every way of life has it's challenges, hardships and trials. Good person or bad person, if you ask me, cannot be linked to religion, but to our moral choices.

So back to the topic:
What does she actually look like? Tell us something about her - she's HOT sounds as a bad WIP thread - no screenshots, no detailed description.

I only sort-of remember my 'first' girlfriend - I was about 5. We kissed all the time in Kindergarten, and got in trouble off the teacher

Since then, things have just gone down hill

The highlight of my dating life was with one girl: Shantelle, when I was 14/15 (over 5 years ago). Completely in love with her. Naturally, she smashed my heart with breaking up with me and dating one of my mates. Oh well.

Now, at Uni, nothing's about dating, but doing all the things two people do without having any actual relationship.

Well done mate! Ignore all these religious buffs! Sex before marriage is very very important. The physical part of a relationship is important - perhaps not as important as emotional, but still very important.

If you want to grow old and grey happily with someone, you gotta be compatible emotionally/mentally and physically. So I say, get it oooooooon baby! (unless you're really young, and then don't)

Haha the stories about G/F's. My first one was great at 12 or whatever, but she took it too far and I had to dump her. I couldn't stand the girl ACTUALLY talking to me face to face! haha

Hmm, just broke off an almost 3 year relationship, and it has been the most turbulent period of my life. I guess I'm a bit over relationships at the moment. Of any kind really. Don't have much faith in my ability to keep one going strong. Hence the slight negativity! hehe

Ah well, I've decided to go back to Uni and complete my degree in another state so all should go better.

Any DB users in Brisbane? I know indi is. I'm going to Griffith Uni...

Well I am a Christian and will not "do it" (LMBO) before marriage.

I talked to her about it. Screenshots are out of the question.

Well a description wont hurt.

Long brownish/black hair.
Pretty, smooth face.
0ops! Sorry took this one out.
Slim.
Very cute voice.
Special because: Well we have a lot in common and I liked her and she liked me.

aye, that's a tricky one fallout, I found myself in a similar situation a few years back. In the end I gave NATO a call and asked to borrow one of their spy satellites for the day - they're surprisingly co-operative when it comes to harems.

Cool Guy Jordan, aka Jordan story games has a girlfriend? Let's hope you don't go through girlfriends like you do with all those hundreds of projects. And, if she is as "hot" as you say she is, you should avoid telling her that you enjoy programming...
