Mugen, no offense, but what Manic just said is the first thing I've ever agreed with him on. Not to be harsh, but that is obsessive. Best thing to do would be to meet a real girl, not some chick off the internet.

And to everyone wondering about Jordan, he threw a fit a few pages back saying how this girl broke up with him and he hates her and is glad she broke up with him and to lock the post.

[sarcasm]Didn't see that coming... [/sarcasm]

And one last thing guys, dont let being a geek hold you back. I'm a geek, but I'm also the guy all the geeks hate because I don't deserve to have girls, yet I do. You all know that guy Best thing to do is leave 'love' out of it. Trust me.

Jeez, I thought I was geeky, but since I've been happy together with my girlfriend for 11 months, it seems one after another admits that she liked/loved me... some even try to 'get me' while I'm in a relation, lol. It's four, no, five of them at a time trying to hit on me.

Since they're all friends, I won't just tell 'em to bug off, but I'm having a hard time handling this situation (and the obvious shock for hearing someone besides my girlfriend fancies me).

Bleh, I'm sticking with my girlfriend.

Oh and Mugen, a saying in chess: sometimes the best way to go forward is to move backward. Give her time and space, then start over slowly. Keep realistic, if she ever tells you to stop approaching her, stop. Until then, listen to what she says and explain what you feel.

The story itself isn't unbelievable, its his reaction I find unbelievable. 10 years? seriously, he's known this girl 10 years and met her once? Would you be cut up over someone you've only been in the presence of once?

What I said might seem harsh, and it's probably not what he wanted to hear, but he definately needed to hear it. What good is feeding his obsessivness by saying "don't worry, just be her friend, maybe one day you'll be her boyfriend", because it just aint gonna happen.

I just hate jarring people, no matter if its good for them, I guess its a big flaw for me, sometimes it hinders me from seeing the better way to help someone.

What Manic is doing is helping, not jarring, be it harsh or otherwise. I could see someone obsessing over a girl over the internet and ending up on Cops. I was watching it just now on G4 and it was that same kind of situation except they knew each other in rl. Which made it less weird.

Lack of fairy-tales during youth? No really, in love and friendship the weirdest things can happen. My current girlfriend actually said 'no', but I kept being friendly and 8 months later it was 'yes'. A friend of mine was in love with a girl for 6 years and she knew it. In the end they got together because he found out she was just scared of being in love. Although ten years is kind of a clear sign, he should at least ask some clarity. Sounds as if she is keeping him locked up. So, give her time and ask her - what is she expecting from this?

my army. muhah!

Real-post:
The story does sound unbelieveable. I went out with 2 girls. One who I knew for all my life. Another who I knew for months. But 10 years and 1 conference isn't enough to get to know each-other.

783!
My random side is taking over.
I call on Death.
Now I just need six or seven other wizards and an assortment of ordinary houshold objects.
(For those who don't get that reerence, read Terry Pratchett's Mort. 'Tis good very.)
EDIT:

No? Thisnk yourself lucky. I could've changed it to sod.
Come to think of it, where'd my avatar go? Can anyone else see it? I can't.

I think your avatar left.

Noone likes you, you know. I mean, you're pretty lucky you haven't been banned yet by the mods, because i'm sure everyones itching to ban you just because of who you are.

Oh yeah, and i overheard your parents say "*sigh*, our son is such a failure". Don't take it too bad though. On the bright side, you might make yourself a friend here who is almost as pathetic as you are whom also lost his avatar.

To my friend Ron (WOLF):

Thank you for locking the DIE Girlfriend thread. As you might see in all my GC threads, I've been wishing for a locked thread in my repetoire for a long time. You're the first to satisfy me with this honor and now I do feel a full member of Geek Culture!

(And ofcourse that topic deserved to get locked, lol )

^What's up with you? Why make a thread for the sole purpose of having it locked? That's not very mature, and that's even coming from me!

I'm not known for acting mature, but i sure won't sink to that level.

Quote: "You make me sad."

That was hardly the intention, i wanted you to be happy for what you got. An avatar is superficial, you still have your health.........right?

Right? .....awwww.

I was much younger when I first got here and saw all those big names getting their threads locked, but never mine... So, over the years I became desperate and made it a personal goal in life. Which is now fulfilled, so we can get back to the order of the day .

Well that's an interesting philosophy. I'm betting there were alot of "bigger" members that _didn't_ get their thread locked. What's so bad about following their example?
