The e-mail looks ok(assuming you stick with it) but

Quote: "have informed the Joint Chiefs of this"

Wouldn't they know if they probably have CIA briefings often?

Well, in my game, the Joint Chiefs have meetings with the CIA every other week. But, in situations like this, an emergency meeting can be called.

Level one can't be an office :I

Quote: "Level one is now (and officially) a weapons warehouse"

Sorry, i don't quite understand? How can you use the word official when it's not. That's propoganda.

...and we will be sure not to kill everyone here, just...can-can we skip this part?

EDIT: Here is another e-mail, a returming one from Marbourough to Kamrey:
"From: Officer Vincent Marbourough {vmarbourough@bctc.gov}
To: Officer Richard Kamrey {rkamrey@bctc.gov}
Subject: Busy
Richie,
It's been five days since you told me about Kola, I wonder what they (the terrorists) are planning. I hear word from the CIA that the Joint Chiefs are scheduling an invasion of some sort into Russia. What time you on lunch break? I'd like to discuss things with you.
Vincent M."
...and an e-mail from CO Marcus Arthur:
"From: Cmdr. Marcus Arthur {marthur@bctc.gov}
To: Officer Vincent Marbourough {vmarbourough@bctc.gov}
Corporal Marbourough,
It seems like the meeting on 8/14/09 has paid off; after only five days, we've found out who's going to Russia. I have decided that you are going to be solo; no reason why, just do it. Assistance will be available when needed, and our friends at the American Embassy via Moscow will give you that home-away-from-home feel. Don't screw up, Marbourough, or I'll skin your hide.
CO"
...one last one for now, an e-mail from a CIA official:
"From: Steven Montgomery {smontgomery@cia.gov}
To: Officer Vincent Marbourough {vmarbourough@bctc.gov}
Subject: Long time, no see
Vincent,
Long time no see, pal! It's been 18 years since our high school graduation; how's everything? I've heard from your boys over at the Bureau that terrorism is arising in the EU. Shame you've gotta leave on the twenty-fifth. I'm holding my thoughts to myself, but I'll tell ya anyways: this one guy at work is rumored to be a mole, leaking info to al-Qaeda. I hope to God Almighty himself that this guy's gonna be found out.
Steve

PS: Hey, how about we meet downtown*, say, 5:30pm?"

*: The CIA and BCTC are in the same city, Langley, Virginia, but about 2-3 miles apart.

Enjoy the small bump here,
~AI

Well, the solo thing is because since Marbourough is pretty experienced, he is going solo during the game. And the second quote, well, I don't know.

Here is a new screen, this one in the WIP offices.

Ya RLY!

EDIT: I'm having a problem with my FPSC: whenever I use an MP1 character with an MP9/10 weapon, and assign scripts, the character doesn't shoot the gun, just stands there. I posted a topic about this on the Bugs board, but no one's responding.

****UPDATE****

Level 1 (office_usa_01) for Kola is coming along famously. I have a picture of it attached. The bug with the MP1 characters using MP9/10 weapons is still persisting; I wonder what is going on. Also, I may be coming out with an MP arena (possibly a missile silo) in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled. Besides, I've always wanted to try FPSC's multiplayer component, no matter how horrible people say it is. Enjoy the screen, and I also have an e-mail from Richard Kamrey to Marbourough:
"From: Officer Richard Kamrey {rkamrey@bctc.gov}
To: Officer Vincent Marbourough {vmarbourough@bctc.gov}
Subject: Coffee break
Vinnie,
Yesterday I saw on channel 5 that the new terrorist group, called "Dot-Com" is swarming into the US via Ellis Island, posing as Russian civillians. They passed through the metal detectors unarmed, but after a shipment of AKs came through, the terrorists were armed and dangerous. President Baker told us to remain calm, the Bureau of Counter-Terrorism & Conflicts, along with the National Guard and Navy SEALS will handle the situation. He told us that the United States' armed forces will be in Russia, Europe, Asia, South America, and the USA. Stay cool, calm and collected, Vinnie, or I'll have to get the tranquilizer again. A convoy will be heading towards a weapons factory at 0600, so get ready.
-Rich"
...which means level 1 will just involve getting to a HMMV. Enjoy the update, and comment on the picture.

The pic looks OK AI, but there is light coming out of nowhere and lamps facing walls. Some wonky segment placing too.

Also, a more clinical segment would be nice, those ones don't feel very office like imo.

What do you mean by 'clinical'?

I've a nice idea for level 2: You have to infiltrate a bunker (very large and elaborate bunker, mind you) after going through a countryside area (basically, my main idea for level 1 since the start). Expect screens soon!

And on a weapons-related note, what weapon should the player start out with?

Clean, professional, like what I've been trying to do with Izolis....

About weapons, a modern-day Assault Rifle and a Pistol will do, that's the standard armanent of a soldier, it doesn't really matter which ones you use though.....

For level 1, which will hopefully be set in a destroyed version of Kola (town), I'll be using pictures from BF2 for reference. The armament for the player will be an XM177 (CQBR) (30/270 for ammo) and an M9 pistol (15/90 for ammo) and the enemies will be using AKM's, JSCS Breeching shotguns, and the classic sniper rifle; I'll be pushing the limit there. Hopefully we get allies soon, because I'd love to see folks with M16s fighting alongside me. Unfortunately, no Sensei for me.

AI, this is beyond a joke. I swear, if you change this once more, I'll lose the little respect i've had for you completely ; /

And I think these are the feelings of everyone else. You said a warehouse, an office, now a town. Give me THREE good reasons why you've changed it.

Mmm Hmmm, is that so?

I don't remember reading the Bungie weekly updates back in summer 2007, telling m that they'd changed Halo 3's plot again......

Infact, I don't think I've ever read a professional games newsletter that said that.....

I agree, why would a bunker have that many lights. Also, I would stick with lights on the walls, I think it would look better.

Well, I'd rather work with weaponry in a bright, well-lit area rather than in a dark and dank area, in my opinion. Besides, if the bunker was a bit darker, I'd get flamed for "not being to see things, you idiot".

Looks OK, nothing I haven't seen before though, and the lighting doesn't do anything for me. Also, you have like... 2 weapons on the shelf. Weapons warehouses have hundreds and many are boxed, here are some inspirational pics:

Any NATO country will carry NATO weapons. Russia isn't one.

A bump and a screen for your viewing pleasure...I just got finished eliminating a Russian merc to retrieve his J22 Rimfire, which I am now reloading.

I have come to the decision is that when I get level 1 finished, I will put it up on FileFront, deal? The download (as well as the full game) will have a manual with controls, notable bugs & glitches (this is where beta testers come in) and boring stuff that people don't want to read (such as Kola is owned by AI and all other participating parties, such as TGC and so forth). The screen is attached, please comment on your way out, thank you. Ooops, I almost forgot: the manual will also contain a walkthrough of level 1 in it if anyone would need it, because I'm striving to make Kola as fun yet challenging as possible and I hope that can be achieved. Please rate the screen x/10 and leave any comments/criticisms (if any), thank you.
