Hardy har-har. Yeah, easy for you to say, being new to the forums and all. I'll bet you a copy of my game AI will never finish this. I'll eat my words if he gets even a half finished demo out. No offense AI, but I just don't move on as quickly as most people. And Toasty, I won't give him support if I think it will be wasted.

I am NOT new. I may not even be a year old on these forums, but I am definately not new.

That as it may be, you can't keep prodding him about it. The more you do, the less likely it's gonna get finished. Now let's end this before it escalates into one of these. (see screen)

Very wise words

Toasty, I'm not here to start an arguement with you at all. But when AI said he was a veteran for the second time running, I had to bring up some points.

When AI gives us screens etc, I will happily support him. When he turns his thread into a chatroom I won't, to try and get him back on track. Simple.

ON TOPIC
The screen looks OK, but nothing I've not seen before, perhaps give us a better angle of the room.

@ Dude232: I've already got it, thanks!
@ Slayer222: Whatever.

Since there is no story as of yet, I've a rough draft of it. It is told through e-mails.
"From: Richard Kamrey {rkamrey@bctc.gov}
To: Vincent Marbourough {vmarbourough@bctc.gov}
Subject: Terrorism
I got word from the Joint Chiefs that a new terrorist cell, hired by al-Qaeda, is escalating in Russia. They said you'll be the first solo operative on the ground to single-handedly battle Echelon. Meet up with me for a coffee, I'll tell you the rest.
Rich"
...and the returning e-mail:
"From: Vincent Marbourough {vmarbourough@bctc.gov}
To: Richard Kamrey {rkamrey@bctc.gov}
Subject: Re: Terrorism
Rich,
I've got a letter from the CIA today, it said that my first mission will be to find out anyone who's involved in the formation of Echelon. I think this is bull, as we know bin Laden was involved with this. Tell me more in a reply, I'm too busy to get a coffee right now.
Vinnie M."
...and another reply from Kamrey:
"From: Richard Kamrey {rkamrey@bctc.gov}
To: Vincent Marbourough {vmarbourough@bctc.gov}
Subject: Re: Re: Terrorism
Vinnie,
I asked for you what and where your first mission will be. You'll have to infiltrate the Russian Ministry of Defense in Murmansk. The HMMV will drop you off in the underground parking garage, then you'll work your way up. You have to find a server on which the terrorist cell is protecting important information on nuclear weapons and bin Laden's location. We need this info, so make us proud, bud.
Rich"

So the terrorists are keeping important files on their computer about nukes and where Osama is. I'll get screens later.

Ditto, man. If you bail on this you shall have to make a new account and start fresh, because you'll get crap for every one of you further ambitions.

Aaaaaany way, this game looks great! You should really stop getting on these forums and work on it, because I'm as excited to see how this ends up.

Just a bump, plus the story for Kola:

In the year 2007, a Russian terrorist cell by the name of Echelon arose in the Kola Peninsula. Bent on world power, the cell starts manufacturing nuclear weapons to launch at all of the major cities of the world. On June 6, 2007, the 63rd anniversary of D-Day, the bombs were detonated. They were buried around 20 feet underground, though, so the damage was minimum. Learning of the failed nuclear bombs attempt, an atomic missile is being constructed inside an abandoned missile silo. A branch of the US Defense Force, the Bureau of Counter-Terrorism and Conflicts (BCTC) is sent on the ground to infiltrate the peninsula via the Murmansk Port and foil any plans Echelon might have. The BCTC relies on solo operatives, with three branches: espionage, assault, and tactical. You are Cpl. Vincent Marbourough, an operative in the Tactical branch. You are sent into one of the port's buildings to find any information on the cell. The building is the Russian Ministry of Defense via Murmansk. Equipped with your trusty M4CQBR and P239 Compact (what the Compact .45 from MP10 is), you are sent to infiltrate the Ministry and find out what the terrorists are planning.

Well, whaddaya think? Spent at least a half-hour or so drafting the story, so please rate x/10 and possibly leave some comments/criticism, thank you.

I will be working on level 1 today and post screens as progress continues.

And a question for EAI: What real-life gun is the J22 and Model 442, and how many bullets does the J22 hold?

J22 is based off the 1980s Jennings J-22. I think it's now marketed as the JA-22 by a different company (the original went bankrupt). It has a six round magazin in .22LR and has a reputation for being less than reliable unless magnum loads are used (CCI MiniMag). It's fairly iconic as what used to be referred to as a "Saturday Night Special". Back in the day, you could buy them for around $60-$100 dollars, depending on finish.

Model 442 is based off the Smith & Wesson Model 442/642 Centennial Airweight. It was marketed as a concealment/back-up gun. Fully covered hammer means less bits to snag on clothing.

Hope that helps.

A bump + a double post.

Instead of stairs, the first part will have a blocked door and an elevator you can use, makes it much less of a hassle.

Speaking of SC, Have you came across the pokemon easter egg?
Its a easter egg where two people are talking, then one of them changes the topic to somthing about the govemerment creatng these experimental monsters called pokemons, he then tells the other person about pikachu, then Sam fisher goes; PIKACHU!

Its a odd easter egg.

I think you need a really original twist, and I've got just the idea.

FPS always have typical tough guy player-characters, usually with a US accent. I think you should make your player a little old French woman. Seriously, no one would suspect her, so she'd be perfect for any assignment. You could make her have wobbly, blurred sight...and only able to run really slowly. Instead of health, she could need to stop every twenty minutes to drink a cup of tea. But she could also have special weapons, such as a walking stick, a pointed umbrella, and a cat that she can throw in the faces of enemies to claw them to death.
